I found two different urls on Yelp listing Lighthouse Sound, therefore I posted my review to both Lisghthouse Sound urls: This was my first time here at the Lighthouse Sound golf club for an event related to air and sea travel, vacationing and cruising. We came with our travel friends. Bethany Travel had arranged the event with about 20 related travel organizations. We arrived around 4 PM when the event started. We checked in at the front desk to receive our raffle tickets. There are some beautiful views of the Links golf course and Assawoman Bay. We visited the various travel tables to talk and pick up some various travel brochures. Complimentary coffee, ice tea and water were also available. Tables were also available for customers to sit, drink and eat. Eventually they arranged some very nice hand held hors d'oeuvre appetisers and desserts in the bar area. We did not win the raffle. After the raffle we left to return home. We had enough to eat so we did not stop for dinner. We have lots of brochures to read and investigate for our future travels. read more

Good golf course. I shot a crisp 129 which I'm sure a regular golfer could have done with a 3 wood, and a 9 iron ONLY. Was a part of an 8-man scramble comprised of weekly golfers and old pros. At by rate the greens were great, rough was a little lush but we got there after the area had about 20 straight days of rain, so I can't complain. In terms of the course as a whole it is probably one of if not the best courses in the area- and for good reason as everything was well-maintained and kept up. The clubhouse also was very nice and the bar was nice and wet. Would come back if I play with the same group. read more

3.5 stars Some really great holes on the course. Hole 5 is one of the best par 3s I have played -- and really liked hole 7. I was not a huge fan of holes 2, 3, 4 and 6 on the front. The back 9 is much more interesting. The big problem here is that our round took 5 hours and 40 minutes -- and that was after they delayed our tee time 30 minutes to let the course "breath" -- there were lots of staff out on the course -- but only one of them was actually making an attempt to manage things out on the course -- all of the others were worthless.... I would expect a lot more from a course at this price level. read more

I gave this 3 stars because I've had good experiences in the past here, even though our experience last evening (8/16/22), was not too great. We had reservations for a party of 7 for my 60th Birthday. My children and grandchildren were in town for the occasion, I choose Lighthouse sound for this special dinner. Not crowded with it being a Tuesday, we were seated right away. Our waiter was efficient and attentive. We wanted to order appetizers, they were out of three of them. (Crab dip being one). So we skipped appetizers and just ordered our meals. Out of the 7 meals, 4 came out first (one was my grandsons kid meal). It was another 15+ minutes, then 2 more meals were brought out. Still waiting for the final meal, after about 10 more minutes, our waiter came out to inform us just 2 more minutes. After another 10 minutes or so, our waiter returns to apologize about the wait on the final meal because the cook missed it on the order, but the manager said they would take the cost of that meal off the bill. I asked for bread for the table, which did not come out until the manager finally walked out at which point we asked for more water and asked again for the bread. The waiter did bring out a few rolls and said more rolls are in the oven, but would be out as soon as they were done. Finally, the final meal came out (while the rest of ours were cold at that point). I openly apologized to my guest in front of the Manager, and the response from the Manager was 'well didn't your waiter tell you I'm taking off the cost of the final meal. Was there another problem?" Irritated at that point, I wasn't sure if the problem was poor cook staff or poor management, or a combination of both. I understand mistakes happen, but it was a bad experience from start to finish. I feel like competent management would have recognized the several problems while they were going on. The manager snidely ended with 'we pride ourselves on customer service'. They sure missed the mark last night. So unfortunate, and very disappointing. read more

Paid $180 for 18. This is a $100 at best. Great views, great service. However, it took us a whole six hours to play ready golf with three golfers. Course conditions were very poor. Fairways with stretches of dirt, greens were covered in divots. If you're going to charge this much, maintain the course. read more

We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was great. They have a nice menu but you must try the Chicken Piccata with scallop potatoes and asparagus. I still have the flavor in my memory it was so delicious. Definitely try this dish. read more

I have played 45+ rounds this year all over the Tri-state area & Hilton Head, this was arguably the worst golf experience I've had in a very long time. To start, the greens fee of $125 is WAY too high,, I say this as the day started on the range which is a disaster & terribly torn up. This was followed by the course, which despite the scenic views of O.C.MD, was equally as torn up & burned out, not to mention the feathers & goose poop all over the course. This all leads to the pace of play which was the worst I've ever experienced! At 1 point, we were 1of 6 groups waiting on the 14th hole. In fact, the experience was so disappointing & frustrating, that we decided to leave after playing 16 holes. Simply put, this course is poorly run, in terrible shape & simply not worth the trip or cost!! read more

Great location, the food was awesome and very nice view. Our waitress was a lot of fun (Sylvia) and she was responsive and suggested some great dishes. I would have rated it a 5, but the outside guitar player was way too loud, to a point where we him through the inside windows. read more

We had a great lunch on our way to Ocean City at this excellent restaurant. The crab cake sandwich was delicious! Stephen, our waiter, was very professional and friendly. Amazing view of the water made this meal even more spectacular. Would definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

Disappointing! Heard great things about this restaurant so we decided to try it for my birthday dinner. Made 8pm reservations on a sunday night and arrived promptly. Was asked to go to the bar for a cocktail while waiting for a table (why did I bother to make a reservation then, you ask?!?). WAITED OVER 45 MINUTES! The Maitre d' walked past my husband and I SIX times and didn't even acknowledge our presence....still sitting at the bar. Took other larger parties to their tables who came in well after us (we were only a party of TWO). As a matter of fact, as we were walking in to the Clubhouse for the restaurant, there was a party of 5 standing outside. One commented "don't go through there, let's go in the side door". Well, I should have followed them as their "side door" put them immediately at a table while my front door sent me to the bar! We went so far as to ask the bar "manager" what was going on and she replied "we forgot to turn off the web reservations" (we made our reservations on opentable.com) so they overbooked and continued to state they were training new employees so it was slowing down service. Needless to say, my husband and I found the side door and walked right out.What's also baffling is even the bar manager, who we told about the long wait, didn't even offer us to eat at the bar or any of the side tables that had recently opened since the Maitre d' took those guests to an actual dinner table. I heard great things about the food at this restaurant....too bad we won't experience it as we will not waste our time or money on an establishment that can't acknowledge guests that they send to the bar to wait. read more

We had reservations for 7:15 on the 13th for Valentine's Day, we arrived on time, we were told that was the only time they had available but online it showed earlier times available. When we got there they seated us in the side room which was extremely cold (it was terrible cold outside) so the last thing I wanted was to be cold on our romantic dinner date. So after asking they said they could move us to the bar, but they decided to move us to the main dining area, which I still had to wear my coat to be half way comfortable. The crab stuffed mushrooms for $12 were about the size of a dime and you received about 6 of them not worth the money at all. The entrees showed the crab cake as $33 which I ordered and my husband ordered the 14 oz. NY strip steak for $35, the steak was fatty and chewy not worth eating in the upscale restaurant they should have had a lot better steak than what was served to us. We went 2 years ago on Valentine's Day and when they seated you they handed you a rose. After each course they served sorbet to clean your palette and at the end of your meal you received cookies, none of this was offered this time. We recommended this restaurant and we were so thankful that the couple chose another restaurant to spend their Valentine dinner at. When we received the tab they overcharged for the crab cake (but at this point it wasn't worth arguing the point). The only positive the server did his very best to make things acceptable. I would not recommend nor will we ever go back to this restaurant. read more
