Their social workers will contact family members with a lot of psychobabble. Not helpful. If you want to help a family member see if there is a way to have somebody check in during off hours when family cannot which includes the weekends that you were charging clients for while providing absolutely no service.

To be frank, she can be demanding, mean, uncooperative, combative, lacking any and all manners and just generally very egotistical. Some home health agencies just backed out the door halfway thru the interview and walked out because they refused to work with such an A-hole. However, we've been so blessed with the help of Marge, the RN caseworker and a SPECIAL shout out to Claudia, the physical therapist. She's SO good and can reason with my aunt and get her to understand why she must cooperate to get better. My aunt has a phobia of joint replacement (which needed to be done 20 years ago) so she's as stiff as a board and cannot bend at the waist. However - I've seen physical improvement in my aunt's walking in 2-3 visits! I could sing their praises all day. P.S. Rowan Geriatrics also has been really awesome with helping administer the tests so that we can get guardianship over my aunt bc she truly cannot care for herself, neither mentally nor physically.

Arden Courts of Cherry Hill did a fantastic job of taking care of my mother for a 4 years period…read morebetween 2019 and 2023. My mother had failed to adapt to another facility and Arden turned out to be the perfect place for her. During my time there I met many other families in similar situations where other facilities had been unable to "handle" their loved ones, but Arden always had the magic touch. From a day to day perspective the care was superb, the food was good and the activities were varied and covered a wide range of ability levels. Unlike other nearby "luxury" facilities, Arden focuses on what the residents actually need and not what looks nice to the families. The residents who are mobile have free run of the facility and access to outdoors weather permitting. Use of a resident's room are limited as much as possible to keep them engaged in social activities. The professional staff were all top notch, with the facility director and nursing staff worthy of particular praise for both their everyday professionalism and going above and beyond when needed. Also worthy of note is that Arden Courts avoids requiring costly additional 1-on-1 care and will only send residents to the hospital when absolutely necessary. If a resident does end up at the hospital, it is literally located across the street minimizing the need for transport. Arden Courts is currently under the umbrella of a non-profit so as far as I am aware there is no private equity firm behind the curtain pushing to drive down costs. The Cherry Hill facility in particular is also very supportive of family members with access to numerous eat in/cook out activities, parties and field trips. At the end of my mother's journey they offered ample time to wrap up her room and have an open door policy for said family members to return interact with any persons they may have bonded with. Arden Courts of Cherry Hill 5/5, 10/10, 100% would recommend to a friend or family.

There are no words that can truly express how difficult it is to watch someone you love so deeply come to the end of their earthly journey. But during one of the most heartbreaking and painful times I have ever experienced, the VITAS team treated Raul with dignity, gentleness, compassion, and respect. They understood that Raul was more than a patient. He was a son, a brother, a loved one, and a person whose life mattered. They cared for him with such tenderness and made every effort to keep him peaceful and comfortable. They also cared about me and helped me understand what was happening as his body gradually became weaker. I will never forget the nurses and staff who sat with me, answered my questions, listened to my fears, and reassured me when I needed it most. Their kindness meant more to me than they will ever know. Amelia went above and beyond to reach his children so he could hear their voice one last time. As a Christian, I prayed that God would surround Raul with His love and give him peace. I truly believe God placed the right people around him during those final days. VITAS became part of Raul's final journey, and for that, I will always be thankful. Big shout out to Kim, David, Ethen, Trinity, Amanda and Alice who took special care of him and made sure he was clean and not in pain. Special thank you to David and Debbie for being there with him while he took his final breath. Raul went to be with Jesus on August 10, 2026, at 8:16 a.m. Although my hearts is broken and I miss him terribly, I am grateful that his final days were surrounded by people who treated him with love, dignity, and compassion. To everyone at VITAS who cared for my brother: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You cared for Raul when I needed you most, and I will never forget that.
