Great place for lunch. Halibut fish and chips and fish sandwich were very good. The clam chowder was superb! Better than most that I tried while in Maine. All of this while enjoying an unfettered view of the bay. They even have binoculars available for use. Really want to go back and try their smoked meats. read more

Seriously, you search for best seafood in Homer and Lighthouse comes up as #1? It was decent, but certainly not #1. Everything seafood on the menu is fried. In a state - in a TOWN - that prides itself on fresh seafood, I'd much rather taste the seafood than breading or oil Like I said, it was OK. Compared to Long John Silvers it could maybe be considered gourmet. But for good seafood, it was average for the area, and only if you're comparing fried against fried. read more

This place was awesome! The ambience, food and view not to mention friendly staff made this the perfect place to stop on our way out of Homer. We ordered burgers and they were everything we wanted. The right amount of meat, with fixings stacked nicely in a beautiful brioche bun. The clam chowder is nice balance of not being too rich or heavy on the flour. We ordered a chocolate malt to go but it hit the spot and we finished it before we were out the door. This was also a kid friendly place. Our five year old twins loved it. read more

This place is a comfy, adorable hidden gem! I absolutely have been missing out after living here for years now!! Our party of three ordered captains platter with the best calamari steaks ever, not over-cooked fried halibut, and perfect cheesy tots. Waitress offered to have tots come out first which was sweet! I saw another review where it said they refused to do that, so it was nice to have it be the complete opposite of that, in my experience! We each got a can of sockeye red which was ice cold, also a raspberry shake for the boy! The view is epic which goes without saying, almost!! I think it is underrated which is what makes me love it even more. Kind hearted people are behind this place you can just tell. They have a cool drive through option which I have never used. Overall unique spot, gorgeous view, delicious food, friendly service!!! Prices are completely reasonable compared to everywhere else! Fish and chips are a few dollars less than places not even a mile away! read more

Came here on seeing such good reviews (currently 4.5 stars) but I can't really recommend going out of your way to eat here. That is not to say that anything we had was bad. The 3 star description, "A-OK" sums it up perfectly though. Other reviews mentioned a server who was late and a couple items they were out of stock and these were both true on our visit when we were there for an early dinner. The ribs were the standout as they were very tender and falling off the bone; the fried seafood was fine. The clam chowder was full of clams but did not taste homemade so I would skip that. We had high expectations and were disappointed but that wasn't really their fault. It was all just fine but I think there are definitely better local options. read more

Ordered fish & chips $20, specifically asked should I purchase another side of Fries, told no, they are good portions. I see signage stating "condiment charges for extra ketchup, vinegar, tartar sauce, lemon so on. So I receive my order at a seperate shack, she hands it to me and walks away. I open the fish and chips, there are literally no more than 12 fries, less than a Mc Dees Small Fries. No vinegar, no lemon. no salt, and 3 small portions of fish. I drive back around, go back up to the order window ask to speak to the Owner, he comes to the window, asks whats wrong. I asked him to look at the plate he served and said "who eats fish and chips without vinegar, salt or lemon". The to go package looks empty, "I paid $20 and there is not even 10 cents worth of fries in there. He seemed like he was going to work with me, BUT ! then some witch in the back starts talking BS to me. Coming from a food background and knowing how to treat customers as a business owner, I was flabbergasted, I walked away, threw the food and will never come back or recommend this establishment. Halibut fish and chips were amazing, as were the milkshakes. Service was great, will definitely hit this place again next time we are in town. Not too busy at lunch time. My only complaint is that the restaurant closes at 7:30pm, that's sooo early, especially in the land of the midnight sun. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem. Doesn't look like much on the outside but once inside is very cute with amazing views of the bay. The food is amazing. Highly Recommend the clam chowder. I just had the Halibut Sandwich and it was so good. The view here is incredible, and the service is very friendly. I can see this place becoming a Homer staple when renovations are complete. Its a clean place, child friendly and has a very warm atmosphere. I think its great that they have a drive thru service as well, especially when you need that quick bite to eat heading out of homer, or when you need that satisfying meal coming back home to this great town. read more

If you want amazing fish and chips and the best clam chowder outside of New England don't miss this place! I cannot praise the chowder enough, it was perfect. This chef knows what he's doing! I love that tangy clam flavor that most chowders are missing! The halibut fish and chips was amazing, too. Beautifully moist and perfectly cooked in a panko breading which was a delightful surprise. I wish it wasn't such a long drive from Anchorage but I would drive there just to have lunch. It is that good. The wait staff ladies were lovely and fun to chat with. Great food, great atmosphere. This place is OK. That's about it. Have you ever experienced restaurants where they go out of their way to make your dining experience outstanding? That's not Lighthouse. The food was alright, but we had to wait about 10 minutes for the server to even show up to work. Really. The owner wouldn't take our order. They were out of some seafood.
