While camping at Fisherman's Point, we ate at the Lighthouse Cafe. Very simple and good ! The menu has a variety of choices, from salads to hamburgers, to fish & shrimp to baskets and desserts to name s few. You can't go wrong, just order and relax ! We had two appetizers, fried pickles and homemade potato chips, served with ranch dressing. Both were delicious!! For our main course, we had the beef taco salad and the chicken strip basket. Both were good, however, I would try something different next time. For dessert, we split a piece of carrot cake. Dang it was good !!! No raisins and super moist!! We will be back , and if you are ever in Streetman, Texas, you should give them a try. Go get Full

Great food, easy going atmosphere, family friendly & good service! We came here to celebrate two birthdays, as a family, and this pace did not disappoint! We ordered three appetizers; fried pickles, fried mushrooms & fried cheese. Our main meals included; a beef fajita quesadilla, chef salad, bacon cheeseburger with pepper Jack cheese, burger with ketchup & cheese only for the 7 yo, the Fisherman's Platter with catfish, fried shrimp, onion rings & fried okra, the Monterey Chicken with chili cheese fries and hush puppies. The kids finished off the meal with novelty ice cream treats. We met the owner Patty & asked all sorts of questions as it was our first time visiting but it won't be our last! This is a great hidden gem that serves delicious, fresh cooked food at reasonable prices! We can't wait to visit again to take advantage of the day use area & swim too.

Chicken fried steak, mash potatoes, and onion rings.

Perhaps some suggestions, they have plenty. My boyfriend the recommended Chicken fried steak and he was quiet all throughout lunch. I got the Reuben with chips and it was cooked to perfection down to the home made potato chips. Our waitress who had been working there for three decades mentioned that they had coconut crème pie I'm coco for coconut so I thought that I would give it a try. It was absolutely sublime! I haven't had coconut crème pie like this since my trip to the Bahamas The check came quickly and we said our goodbyes to the crew and the other friendly passers by enjoying their choices What a treat! We will be back

Th menu has so many great options, so I went with the special, chicken fried chicken with white gravy, mashed potatoes, okra and toast. I am not a huge gravy person so got it on the side. The proportions were the perfect size, not too little and definitely not overwhelming. Everything was excellent and cooked to perfection. I had the sweet tea and it was wonderful as well. My co worker had the fish plate, she is a connoisseur of fish and said it was wonderful. The booths were a good size and customers are able to write with chalk paint pens to leave their mark. The environment was relaxing and fun at the same time. Although the space is smaller, the speed of service and the wonderful staff made it feel big. Will definitely return when I travel through Teague!

The salad stuff was fresh and the dressings were all good. On the hot side of the buffet they had chicken friend steak, ham, turkey and dressings, bbq brisket and friend chicken. Everything was excellent! The sides were all great. I imagine their homemade pies are amazing but I was too full to try any of them! I will 100% be back anytime I am nearby!!!

My dad has been coming here for years, I believe this was my first time…read more My dad went for the buffet, and I ordered a la carte. First, the service was excellent, I believe our server was named Presley. Very kind, always checking on us and keeping our water and tea full. On the buffet, my dad enjoyed the salad he had, but was surprised at the little variety offered that day. He said last time he was there with my brother there was more to choose from. He then got the fried chicken, which was greasy and barely any chicken on the thigh. I tried to find a drumstick but it was just breasts, thighs and a few wings. He did like the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. As for the fried okra, you have to eat it fresh. It is sitting under a heat lamp just makes it soggy and slimy. I ordered 4 vegetables a la carte which came out to be as much as the all you can eat buffet. First, their onion rings are OUTSTANDING! So is their homemade ranch. What was disappointing was the green beans, they definitely came out of a can and were heated. At $3.99 I expected fresh. There may have been a small piece of onion in it. Not sure if that was how it was cooked or if it fell in from another dish. The black-eyed peas were tasty. I also had a cup of the chicken corn chowder which was good. However, there was pieces of cubed chicken in it which also made me think that it was a prepackaged soup and not homemade. My dad got the coconut cream pie, which tasted good, but could have used more coconut then just on the top. He wanted bread pudding or peach cobbler, however at the time of day we were there, they had been picked over way too much, not leaving much for anyone else to enjoy. I did like the selections in the gift shop and purchased a tea towel before we left. I always like to try a place 3 times so I may stop in and try something else. Again, great customer service.
