Just stopped in here for a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin! The blueberry muffin was pretty tasty. I put creamer in the Americano when I made it home. The service was fast and friendly. The young man behind the counter shared with me about things that go on at the establishment on Saturdays. Then another young lady approached me with ideas about crocheting and such. The place was beautifully decorated but modest. It was over the top. It's in the town center near me so I will return again. read more

Had the wonderful opportunity to visit this coffee shop multiple times on my recent trip to South Carolina and it was a highlight of the trip! It is decorated with vintage looking furniture and they are always playing the best music giving the whole shop a cozy vibe. The staff is very friendly and kind. Their coffees and entrees are delicious and made to order! The pastries are fresh and heated up upon order. I also loved being able to grab a couple essentials at the small market next door. If you're looking for a local coffee shop in the area, I would highly recommend! read more

I came here for an Americano, and it simply wasn't very good. I think they just don't buy good beans. Also, the pastries looked pretty sad. The interior is very nice, and the employee who helped me was lovely. Just don't expect good coffee. read more

First of all: DINE-IN during Covid. Thank you very much Lighthouse Café & Stuff! I love this cute, little coffee shop! It's located in Lake Carolina, near Blytheswood, SC. We're currently staying in a wonderful lake house on Lake Wateree and my brother-in-law said there are no bougee (pronounced: Booh-Zhee) coffee shops for me at the lake. So, thanks to YELP, I found one. If it checks off at least three of these boxes, the coffee shop is perfectly "bougee" for me: *Iced White Chocolate Mocha *WiFi *Variety of pastries, including fancy fruit scones (at least blueberry with another berry, etc.), croissants (no repackaged items from costco please); *Sandwiches involving croissant or panini-style *Jazzy or calming music *Cool retro or vintage furniture - comfy couch a MUST...just overall, charming. And this place checks off beyond three for sure! I wish I took more photos, but I was too consumed with how much I was loving my experience here. It is a Christian-owned coffee shop too - first realizing that they were playing awesome Worship Music, and then seeing the decor hints of Love, Peace, Kindness, etc. And of course, the name of the shop: Lighthouse. Plus, the girl who served us confirmed it. The iced white chocolate mocha was terrific - normally I ask it with Oat Milk, but forgot. It was fab. The Panini though...OMg!! Delish. The bread was crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, and the prosciutto ham combined with the Brie cheese was divine! You can order the panini in a few variety of ways btw. There was the big comfy couch, but it was barricaded due to Covid - but no biggie. The girls there are the sweetest! The shop in itself is located in such a cute village with other neighboring businesses/restaurants, and apartment building. I could totally live there and found myself daydreaming about walking over to get my bougee coffee experience. GO THERE NOW. read more

I love this little coffee shop so much! Being a Seattle native where coffee is LIFE, I was a bit disappointed moving to Columbia and not being able to find local coffee shops that serve excellent coffee and yummy treats, while maintaining a desirable ambiance. Well, Lighthouse Cafe is exactly what I was looking for, and has become my go-to local spot. Besides all the positives listed above, the owners are so welcoming and friendly. This is a cute family operated coffee shop. Great coffees & tea & small selection (but very tasty) food items like sandwiches, French macarons, cookies, Alfajor, croissants, quiche & muffins. What a wonderful addition to the town center in Lake Carolina. The farmhouse decor makes you feel right at home. I was super thankful for these people this morning and I woke up to realize I was out of coffee. The coffee was super and their pastries looked amazing but I didn't try any. (I plan on it) There are tables set up if you'd like to sit and relax or bring your laptop to get some work done. Cute place. read more

They were all so sweet and really went above and beyond to make sure it was a high-quality experience. I noticed that they openly advertise that they don't accept tips and have slightly higher prices in order to pay their workers a living wage, and the results were directly reflected in the customer service that I received. As for the food and drink (coffee), that was pretty good as well! While I do wish that they might have had bagels, the croissant that I substituted it for was warm, buttery, and tasty, and it was a nice change from my usual coffee shop meal, as I've only had a croissant a handful of times. The coffee was fine, and I loved how they offered free refills, which I've noticed that other local coffee shops usually don't. Finally, I loved the setting of the restaurant, which gave you the opportunity to either sit inside and enjoy the ambiance or on the outside patio and enjoy some peace and quiet. I also loved the artwork that they had on the walls, which the waitress informed me was painted by a local artist and which you could purchase if you wanted to. All-in-all, I loved smallSUGAR, will be back in the future, and would highly recommend stopping in!

I also loved their mixed combination of science and coffee-themed artwork, which I thought was really unique and clever, even for the standards of coffee shops, which usually have pretty impressive artwork. In particular, there was one poster of a chemistry equation, which somehow related to the process of the coffee industry - it reminded me of one of my favorite TV shows, Breaking Bad! My coffee, as simple as it was, was pretty good, and the two (2) baristas that I interacted with were really nice. In addition, as boring as this sounds, I also appreciated the ease of their parking lot, which made this an easy coffee shop to go to. All-in-all, this was a great coffee shop, that I'd recommend to anybody, and will definitely come back to in the future!

The atmosphere of the Lighthouse Cafe is identical to indie coffee houses in major cities. The owners and staff greet their customers and are quite simply wonderful people. Perfect for a quick coffee or tea, or a full meal (multiple sandwich options, all are terrific). I recommend their brownie as well. Check this place out, and make it part of your regular routine.
