I have been seeing Dr. Kadry here for 2 years. Although I am usually as healthy as a horse (are…read morethey really that healthy?) I have had to see him a total of three times. I'm paranoid about any symptoms and immediately think I have either A. cancer or B. Heart disease. Reasonable fears since both my parents died very young with those very diseases. I usually don't call a doctor unless I am panicking and needing an immediate appointment. Annoying patient I know. But they are always willing to work with me and get me in. This I like. They don't torture my hypochondriac soul by making me wait. So the reason I went yesterday is because I've been extremely dizzy for the past couple of days and am having trouble focusing my eyes and maintaining a balance. At work I looked like a pinball trying to work my way through the hallways. Well Dr. Kadry was very nice and calming because I seriously thought I was having a stroke or something. (Thank you Web MD.com) He told me most likely I have a severe inner ear problem and gave me reassurance and a prescription. That was before I stood up off the examining table and lost my balance and fell face first onto the chair in front of me. This concerned him enough to send me for more tests. He even offered to arrange a car service for me since he told me I would be unable to drive until my symptoms subsided. Really the bottom line comes to that he was patient, actually listened to me and didn't treat me like I was an irrational hypochondriac freak. Things I look for in a doctor!!! .

Small place that contracts out most of their lab work. Receptionist is very friendly and understanding when you have to reschedule your appointment. She also looks out for you and lets you know what your insurance will and won't cover. Also, she knows how to break down your services so that you won't get overcharged by insurance. Dr. Williamson is also friendly and big on nutrition if you ever feel the need to remind yourself to eat healthier. She has very good recommendations on good books and vitamins the average person should take. Overall, nice little place, but nothing exceptional. I like it because it's close to my place and they haven't don't anything rude like certain hospitals.

Detailed Message for Expecting Moms or those that plan to use Scripps for delivery.... BEWARE -…read moreNIGHTMARE DISABILITY I want to say that I love my doctor, Tricia Rambur. I have seen her for years and she has helped support me while I underwent fertility treatments outside the facility at RPSD. Choosing Dr. Rambur was a natural decision for me when I became pregnant and was excited, she was there to support me along the way. What I must warn about is the Scripps policy after birth in support of disability is TERIBBLE. After speaking with the supervisor this is still not resolved. State disability for mothers is done online and can be submitted through an online portal. You do your best to stay on top of it but there is paperwork that can only be submitted once you go into labor or have the baby. Not prior. I had a c section. Thai had to be confirmed by my doctor with details on when I could return to work. Scripps Coastal refuses to fill out any paperwork through the portal that the state needs. This is a new policy that they started in 2024. This makes your disability filing take 3x the amount of time. They are not sympathetic. I am technically done with leave and STILL waiting on Scripps to correctly fill out the forms and send into the state, when logging in can take 15min. It is true EDD is a nightmare but why are we slowing down the process and making it harder for moms. My disability started in December ON the 28th and I filed in February on the 2nd. All required paperwork the state needed from my doctor took weeks to complete. The staff supervisor requires one - two weeks to complete this paper and send out. Snail mail. This is ridiculous. The state prefers doctors to use the portal as the process alone is lengthy but helps along the claim. The supervisors at Scripps will lie to you and tell the doctors said they wanted to opt out but this is a lie as both my doctor and young customer service agent confirmed. It's just a practice policy. And this is for all Scripps centers. As a mom you should be aware of this as most depend on this money to help. It is April and I still am waiting on Scripps. This is sad. Their billing department has no sympathy for my bills I owe from labor and delivery which is ironic given the situation. So take this into consideration when you choose Scripps to deliver if you plan to file for disability money. Think twice before you deliver here. They are living in the past. Doctors wonderful. Admin = terrible.

When I ask what the process was to become a new patient I got a quick response with they are not taking any more new patients . I kindly responded with the name of the doctor that I saw online that says she is taking new patients . The lady responds in a not so nice voice, saying that she only takes new pregnant patients. I am not pregnant however (For the record she had no idea if I was pregnant or not & did not care to ask ) The conversation was not friendly at all and a bit assertive. I usually don't leave a lot of reviews however, I found this conversation very odd especially after all the good things I've heard about Scripps.

Life happens, and I'd put off routine check-ups for far too long, but I recently decided to schedule an appointment for blood work and had a list of questions, along with a need for some advice and recommendations. Scheduling was a breeze. Their patient portal is user-friendly, and the response time was surprisingly quick. Despite my last-minute request, they managed to fit me in. In the past it would take me months to see my PCP. This was a big improvement. Everything, from lab work requests to accessing clinical notes and instructions is automated in their system, so there's no hassle. On the day of my appointment, I was pleased to find plenty of parking, even on a busy weekday afternoon, which is always a plus. The clinic looks amazing and they've clearly made major renovations. The space is bright, modern, open, and spotless, with an inviting atmosphere. The staff were professional, warm, and attentive. From the receptionists to the medical assistants, everyone made me feel welcomed. During my appointment, Dr. Kakimoto addressed all of my questions and concerns with patience and detail. Even though the visit lasted only about 30 minutes, I left feeling reassured, informed, and optimistic about my health. I also love the reminder texts and emails! So helpful especially when you have so much going on. All your clinical notes are available in their patient portal app for easy access as well as all your medical records, tests, and more. I highly recommend Dr. Amy Kakimoto and North Coast Family Medical Group to anyone looking for quality care.

OVER BILLING: Kara their billing coordinator will not take responsibility for billing issues and…read morehas alienated me over $50 because she won't fix their issue with Aetna. Aetna pays NCFMG over $500/visit and each visit I paid my PCP copay of $20. Yet the billing went through as if I saw a specialist ($45 copay) and I only saw a PA, plus North Coast doesn't have specialist they only do Primary Care. This was all because the doctors were listed incorrectly on the bill sent to Aetna. So I called Kara a few times, and I called Aetna a few times and then I put them on a conference call together, and then I followed up with Aetna several times to make sure they were fixing the issue. So after about 4 hours of my time and Kara blaming Aenta and Aetna blaming her I had to give up. And I had a final call with Kara and said there is no way I am paying the $50 because this was billed wrong, just on principal I can't and won't pay it. I can't believe I am ending a 10 year relationship with NCFMG who gets paid $500+ every time I visit over $50 I was wrongly charged for, that is brilliant customer service and a fantastic business model. Note for NCFMG if you even read these reviews: PA Noel and PA Morrison are setup incorrectly with Aetna. They had 2 profiles, one with UCSD and one without. Aetna billing uses the one without which makes them unrecognized so they bill as a specialist. So why don't you call Aetna and fix it before you have more patients leave you over erroneous billing.

Could she spend a few more minutes with you, sure, but when my treatment had some bumps on the road and my cancer took a couple of turns, she was very quick to jump in, and was relentless in finding a treatment, scheduling appointments, follow up until confident on how to proceed. As far as the staff, the front desk and support staff is always sweet, the nurse staff is great and manages multiple patients with grace and care (Olivia is amazing), the RN's are smart, thorough and instill confidence. One person that is a stand out is Lenzy Rubi, I did the cold cap which was challenging and she was incredible in how she handled the prep, cap and treatment. What really makes her special is her attitude, she really shows the CARE in cCARE. You can tell she is not on auto pilot, she goes above and beyond and truly does care for the patients, she is professional, kind, funny, every visit wanting ensure comfort and care. The deduction of one star is because the hold time is too long when you call and I feel there should be some soft ambient music in the treatment room.
