"There is a light, that shines, special for you, wooooo."…read more Light: This place has all the weird specialty bulbs you could need. I worked with them to find a solution for a bulb that had been discontinued and they got me right where I needed to be. It required some conversation, me taking a bulb home, bringing it back, and then taking another home that worked. Their knowledge was deep, and they were super helpful. Shines: Sunlan is a shining example of why big box stores can't solve al your problems. My need wasn't for a vintage bulb, but a weird specialty overhead fan. Home Depot and Lowe's couldn't solve for my needs. Sunlan could. And I was happy to spend money into my local community. Special for you: This place is very special. The owner draws cartoons about lightbulbs and you'll get one with your purchase. There's all sorts of vintage lightbulb ephemera in here. It's kooky in a good way. Woooooo: WOOOO! Sunlan is funlan.

I agree with T.T., do yourself a big favor and find another place to spend your money. My experience there leads me to believe that bad outcomes likely go to their core and are not a one time occurrence. Not knowing a lot about electronic devices I trusted she was selling me what I asked for. That turned out to be more trust expensively misplaced.

I stopped by Old Portland Hardware on a whim while visiting Portland and I'm so glad that I did…read more There you will find an extensive selection of items for your restoration and preservation needs. They have items such as: antique and vintage lighting, hardware, furniture, miscellaneous architectural fixtures, and so much more. And lots of these items come from local homes and buildings, so you are helping "recycle the past" as they like to say. While moseying around the shop, I inquired about a couple of light fixtures that were out of reach and they were very friendly and helpful when following up with questions. It was not difficult to find someone to assist me at all. The prices are at a premium here because you are finding unique items that are in excellent condition and often times hard to find. I found a 8pc set of drawer pulls that I was hunting for an antique dresser for years. Patience and luck came together for me at Old Portland Hardware. Looking forward to my next visit!

Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a relaxed vibe in this store. Staff are great. Some of the bigger furniture pieces are beyond my budget. Smaller items and accessories were my favorite on this trip.

To say I'm angry is an understatement. I have spent a significant amount of money on their website,…read moreI have been a loyal customer, and have provided them with plenty of earned media (free content on social platforms) . I purchased a dining table in early December and after check out, realized I was charged tax on the shipping cost for this large item which was near nearly $500 on its own. I have been asking via email if it is typical to apply this practice since it has never happened on any other purchase, and shipping is not a tangible good. I have sent multiple follow up emails to their support team and have received no response. Today I come here to write this review and realized from other folks that had I purchased this item from Instagram I would not have been charged the shipping at all and I'm now even angrier that this appears to be what I would consider unprofessional and deceptive practices. A much bigger concern than the non-response of emails. I attempted to buy the table on IG and sure enough no shipping charge. Because the item that I purchased was considered nonrefundable, I now think I'm going to have to dispute the entire charge with my credit card company and reject the delivery unless they are willing to refund my shipping cost which considering the lack of emails, is highly unlikely. I'm greatly disappointed and have found that their business practices have become questionable since they were acquired by Food 52. What used to be a locally owned and operated business with principles and ethics that reflected that kind of organization have now gone off the rails, and I just can't see continuing to support them any longer if this is not made right.

Schoolhouse still holds my money $$$ for 4 weeks and I Contacted the customer service and they only told me that the merchandise is currently impeded at the warehouse and they're experiencing a backlogs. For 4 weeks?!! This is not okay! No clear lead times for in-stock items?! Terrible company!!!!

Despite this, John answered my call earlier this morning and was at my front door before 2pm this afternoon. A loose wire in an outlet knocked out 1/2 the power in the house and John and Hunter had it traced down and repaired/replaced in no time, (for real under 20 minutes!) They were courteous and kind and reasonably priced! Also, I appreciated Shelley keeping me updated as to the timeline for their arrival as my situation was very stressful and involved a tight timeline for the repair! Over the years they've handled everything from a same-day emergency thermostat replacement to installing an EV charger, upgrading my electrical panel, wiring my entire workshop with a new subpanel, installing ceiling fans, and more. No matter the size of the job, the quality of their work is always top-notch. They're a family-owned local business that truly takes pride in what they do. Their reliability, craftsmanship, and customer service have earned my trust to the point that I never even consider calling another electrician. Highly recommended!
