I was trying to coordinate a local move in Houston between a POD in storage at the Brookshire…read morelocation to be brought to Houston near Gessner and Westheimer Rd. I had seen College Hunks on Shark Tank and called them and spoke to Caithlyn and explained PODS gives a "window" for the delivery on their containers. Caithlyn was very understanding and said they could work with me. I scheduled my College Hunks for the next day and they showed up on time and began to help me do the second half of my move first, since PODS had changed their arrival time three times! My College Hunks crew was Dre and Willie T. , and they arrived with smiles and knowledge of careful moving of fragile furniture that was 100 years old. They handled everything with caution and care and enthusiasm. They enjoyed being my crew and asked what I wanted done next, and where I wanted things placed. I could not have asked for two more outstanding movers and they went the extra step to make sure things were moved correctly and gently, using pads, tape, common sense and wrapping. Finally, PODS showed up 4 1/2 hours later than their "window", but College Hunks made use of the time rearranging some things in my storage to accommodate several boxes arriving in the POD. Everything went smoothly and I was thrilled to have Dre and Willie T. as my crew. I have moved several times, and these two college hunks were amazing! I can recommend them highly, and was lucky to arrange this move in less than 24 hours! Thank you, Caithlyn, Dre, and Willie T. for making my day! By the way, their prices are very affordable! They also haul junk and will take apart and move fancy Smart beds. As for PODS, I won't be using them again, but I will be calling College Hunks for all my moving needs! Thank you all for making my move enjoyable & affordable!

I wouldnt recommend or beware if you do, hopefully they dont damage anything

Originally they were to arrive at 12 pm. I requested they come at 1 pm due to roommate moving out as well and to make Amaya Movers had room to work. Mr Carlos Sosa stated he could come at 6:30 am, 12 pm or 5pm/6 pm. I agreed to 5 pm. The movers were stuck on another job at 5 pm and I was told they would arrive soon. At 6 :30 pm I was told they were 5 minutes away. They arrived at 8:30 pm. Because of this I missed another appointment. They request you pay $190 as soon as they arrive to guarantee they get paid for 2 hours. I requested a stop at my storage which was 2 minutes along the way to my new location. I was told $40, agreed to $25 extra. The movers were very young, but very careful with items. They drove slower than Mr Magoo. I was unable to put stuff in storage and now have to hire someone else to come get the items that do not fit!!!! Was told it was my fault for not sticking to the 12 pm time. WOW!! Would not recommend this company to anyone.

They responded to my quote request immediately and gave me a good fair estimate after I sent pictures. They were out the next day and had the entire garage cleared out super fast. I was so shocked at how affordable the service was because my junk filled an entire dumpster. Will definitely be using them again in the future.

AND They did same day delivery + unpacking (furniture)!!! Can you believe??? I had two bedroom apartment and approx. 40 -50 boxes. I did all the packing in advance because my preference was to have my items well segregated and organized as per my choice. These guys were quick, professional and friendly. I highly recommend them just because they are very transparent and deserves good business! Thanks Kasey

Here they are covering their butts. Your employee, SHOWED…read moreUP to the site complaining of his back. I ASKED if they had blankets to cover my things, they verbally TOLD me NO. If they did, how did my things get scratched? I GAVE THEM COOKIES!!! Do NOT act like I am cruel just because I am speaking truth. No one talked to my"roommate" for her opinion. She agreed with EVERYTHING I said, but is too timid to say it. Also, THE OWNER of the house was pissed and said if he had known we were trying to go cheap, he would have pitched in to get us better movers.(get what you pay for) I was only worried about time because one person wasn't using the time to do their job. Also, if HE is the one that stuck the wrong size drawer in the wrong size slot,.... Then isn't it you guys who broke it? There was NOT another way to get it out!!! He SHOVED it in so far the wrong way that it was stuck and HAD TO BE PULLED! Also, no one ever called, or tried to make it right. If you have to try and pull on someone's heart strings to "get your way" in business.... You're failing as a business. Do you tip your construction workers?? And "feel sorry for them" when they mess up a road? I'm pretty sure their job is harder than this and they get less credit. Like I said, I PAID FULL PRICE, so he GOT paid to feed his hungry starving children of America, their daily happy meal from McDonalds. If you want REAL PROFESSIONAL MOVERS, hire HEART OF TEXAS MOVING AND STORAGE!!!!! THEY are the bomb.com!! They moved my things, (the same apartment that these guys moved) from a third story to a third story IN LESS THAN AN HOUR!!! If I had an oversized box, they used plastic wrap to wrap it TO THE DOLLY, SO IT WOULDN'T FALL OFF........ Hhhhmmmmm man, that just sounds a little too smart.... Using tools to make things easier?? Who would have known??

Through hire a helper I booked 5 hours outside their mandatory 2 and was under the impression that I would not pay for unused hours. Instead I paid for 4 hours that they weren't there. They have a policy that states no refund for unused hours. The owner was generous enough to split the difference and refund 2 hours to me after some conversation. My advice is to hire them directly rather than through Hire a Helper as it seems there's a discrepancy on who's policy it is not to refund for unused hours. Overall the experience was ok but the 2 guys that came to pack did a fantastic job. I'd give them a try again but direct hire not through a service.

My previous review was incentivized. If you take a picture with their truck and post a review you…read moreget a discount. Here's my REAL review. When booking I requested 2 hours of their time. I said 2 hours specifically because I had movers do the exact same move a month before and it took them 2 hours. He agreed... Except it took 5 hours. Both him and his employee were taking one small box at a time. His employee was straight up a turtle and did everything he could to work but also not work. I had a box that was filled with a bunch of little items that I needed to put into the truck and the turtle dude took each and every small item out to put into the truck one by one instead of taking the whole box up at once on their lift. My destination was 30 minutes away with tolls, one hour without tolls. I told him I'll pay for the tolls but he insisted to take the longer route. There goes an additional 30 minutes of nothing I just paid for. To add onto that, he decided to get gas for the truck DURING my move. That took another 30 minutes, and of course the timer was running so I now I'm at 1 hour of pay for 0 work. It was very unprofessional of him to not fill up beforehand. I told him I wanted a discount for posting a review and he said he doesn't do that, to which I showed him his OWN TRUCK that has in big @$$ letters that you get a discount for providing a review. And he has to approve the review before posting on both Yelp and Google. Providing images of his receipt and the previous movers receipt. USF was cheaper by the hour but my total came out to be $700 (5 hours)!compared to the $146 (2 hours) I paid for the more expensive ones. After what felt like an hour of arguing he finally went down to $500... What a joke!
