I met with Dr. Minkoff before getting my prostate removed. During his exam, he detected that I had an infection in my mouth. He sent me to a "natural dentist" who, after his own tests, informed me that I had infections in my root canal teeth. The dentist advised me to get the teeth pulled. When I got the teeth pulled, one was so badly decayed that it crumbled. The other 3 were in lesser states of decay. I consider that this infection was life threatening as people can die from oral and other infections. At best, I would have had an undetected infection taxing my immune system. It is very difficult to be a patient here. Your initial visit ends with them handing you a binder with a "wellness plan" that includes everything they sell and costs over $10K. If you are going in with a specific need in mind, they try and close you on needing to do everything. I will say that Dr G was lovely and she was understanding of my needs, but she is no longer seeing patients...probably because she cared more about the patient than the process or profitability. Lab work that is conducted by them costs three times what you can get on the outside. They are no longer accepting lab work from the outside. I would have been more than happy to have them do the labs but as an informed person, shopping around is a requirement. I was told about this office due to complications (inflammation in the gut etc.,) after 2 surgeries from a tooth extraction. I was told I had to pay $349.00 before the appointment. I did that. I went to the appointment, had vitals taken and spoke with the CRNP Karima for about an hour, she did a kinesiology test where she had her nurse come in and hold my arm while she worked a diagnostic tool. She also took a prick of blood to test my cells. I was told that I had inflammation. The CRNP stated "let me be sure that you get my email." I was not provided her email. I was then sent into the "client service office" and was given a treatment plan binder and then told if I pay $10,552.67 that day that I can get a $721.67 discount. As a Registered Nurse, I recognized quickly that these prices were on the very HIGH side. I questioned how they could possibly charge you before doing labs to be able to see the results first and then assess from there to make a treatment plan. I politely declined and stated that I needed to do some research. I went home and did the research on the labs and the IV's/supplements that were ordered in the plan. It took some time. The outcome was that I was able to get the labs for around $1000 versus Lifeworks price of $4371. Two examples: GI Panel with Calprotectin - Lifework's cost $740; I purchased for $90. G6PD level lab - Lifeworks cost $175, I purchased for $38. I was able to buy the supplements for less than half the price of Lifeworks online. I was able to find another integrative holistic facility that had the same IV treatments and more for a very reasonable cost and no upfront fees. I know doing this research is not for everybody especially with a life threatening illness but I highly encourage it. You can get on a computer and find several lab companies that will help guide you to find the exact test and price or you can find a patient advocate look into them. While in the "client services office" prior to leaving, I was promised they provided great communication with any questions, concerns and was given the phone number and email. I did try calling but could never get the person on the phone to talk. When I emailed, I got very short answers and was told that I could not speak with the nurse until I committed financially to the program. I was told to contact the clinic manager who makes these rules in which I did. The manager was very condescending and did not have the best interest of patient safety or concern. I had an initial visit back in the beginning of september because I saw they had an alternative to statins for cholesterol. I was told I had parasites and candida. I was presented with a $17000 treatment plan. I said i could not do that but i would like to proceed to at least address the parasite issue. I was given a prescription for labwork to be done at quest, and I payed for a stool test that was to be mailed to me. I got bloodwork done and had to call the following week about the stool test. I was told it was lost in the mail, they would ship out another at no additional cost to me. In order to get these labs done, I had to first pay for a $300 lab review. It is now NOVEMBER. I have tried multiple times to schedule a lab review and have been handed off to multiple people, none of which knew what was going on with my case. I wrote an email requesting the stool results and a refund of my lab review appt. I received one call from tamera the office manager, I have called her and left voicemails 4 times over the last couple of weeks, I have yet to hear back. On Friday October 6th 2023, my husband and l accompanied our son Sebastian Scalera to his intake appointment at your clinic with Dr.G. The experience, to even get on the schedule, was less than pleasant and not conventional in my view. We live 1hr 15 mins away, our form of payment wasn't going through on their end, l had called my CC company a couple times and they said all was well with them, my husband had to drive all the way there on Thursday to make sure they got the full required payment $500 otherwise the appointment would be canceled. Most reasonable practices would require a deposit down of $100-$150 in case of a cancellation, not full payment, this policy looked untrustworthy to me. We arrived on time for the 12:45pm, that's when they asked to be there. Waited about 30 mins to see Dr. G, her office was a very uncomfortable, unprofessional looking boiler room. It was so unbelievably hot, l had to step out about 1hr 20mins into the appointment because l felt like passing out. She apologized a few times, but the situation was not made better by any means. The practice advertises itself as a functional medicine clinic amongst many other approaches. However after our disappointing experience and being told Dr. G and your main providers were functional medicine MDs, l looked them up on the IFM website and they are not on there. That seems as a deceiving tactic to get people in the door at $500. The information we gathered/received at the visit was not worth that amount.The offered treatment prices are astonishing for things that aren't scientifically proven to work. The other modalities such, HBOT, lV drips etc can be found at other places for much less than what they charge. There is in my humble opinion, no need to pay those prices. Our trip there was a waste of our time, money and energy with how hot and uncomfortable we were in that tiny crowded space Dr G has. She's not a specialist, she's a family practitioner. I have asked for a full refund to credit card account $500. We work very hard for our livelihood and feel we were duped. The staff could not even spell our son's name, we corrected them many times. It took me some time to write a review as normally i dont do that. I went to see this clinic back in august of 2022. After seeing Karina Redonnan i was to take a lot of tests for about $15k which i did. I had a very bad panic attacks and was looking for any solution. Then they got me on some vitamin ivs and some other stuff which i guess was ok. The problem i had was that nobody really cared about anything there. Trying to talk to somene there about your issue was like trying to talk to a pope. I send email to Karina once asking for some advise no replay. When i was doing treatments i saw her in the hollway and asked if she saw my email. For that she looked at me and said she receives 100 emails a day! I didnt get any help for my issue at the end i got bunch of pills to take and that was it. Oh but if you owe them money (they got some system issues with me) they would call you everyday. I had to go down there and talk to Tamora and finally she was able to fix the money issue. Also, just be carful if they can't find a vein (they tried in my 2 arms) they will charge you for that IV which i think is not right. I think they do help some people but i didn't really feel for the money i am spending i received the care i needed. I came to LifeWorks Wellness Center as a last resort after having been to many medical doctors and chiropractors, etc. I had done traditional medicine and holistic approaches but I wasn't getting better. I spent most of my day in bed (about 16 hours) in pain even though I was young. Over 15 years of my life I had been in pain, searching for answers and mis diagnosed, being told my pain was either in my head or I had Fibromyalgia or other general diagnosis. With the medical system bing as mucked up as it is, finding a 'good' primary doctor who is NOT the typical 'pill-pusher' and is on the same page as those who wish to follow a mostly homeopathic approach, is almost impossible. When I contacted this clinic, my initial impression was that I had reached a used car lot by the way they answered the phone. I was placed on hold for a new patient 'specialist' who I had hoped would be able to answer all my question. However, after only a few minutes, it was clear that she only wanted to answer the questions that were favorable to their business. I asked 4 times what kind of doctor the main person is and never received a definite reply. I did, however, receive 4 evasive answers. When I asked what types of insurance they accept, I did receive an immediate answer of NO INSURANCE at all. That was the end of the conversation. read more

Lifeworks is a complete scam and takes advantage of the patient's time and money. There are people here who are extremely sick, who need doctors who are experts in their field, and they are getting a one size fits all approach. Before you even receive your test results you are put on an extensive treatment plan that can cost tens of thousands of dollars. The testing alone costs upwards of $3000, and of course they recommend you need every test they offer. I have been coming here for treatments along with my mom and stepdad and we all started with the exact same treatment, so your treatment it is not tailored to you until you get your test results, which takes a whole month, and if you are Dr. Minkoff's patient you have to wait another month after that for the next available appointment. So that's two months of IV treatments that are simply immune boosting and supplements you might not even need. All of the treatments we had did next to nothing. The only thing that made a difference in how I felt was a common thyroid medicine I started taking because I found out I have low thyroid. I could have gotten that information and medicine anywhere. And later I suffered complications from this medicine, because it interacted with my birth control. Dr. Minkoff did not tell me I had to take these medications far apart in time from each other and I even asked him about it, never mind the fact that the medications I take are listed right there in front of him for him to see. So for months I was dealing with heavy bleeding and pain from my birth control not working correctly until I realized on my own what was happening. When my stepdad was finally ready after months of waiting for his IV chelation for heavy metal toxicity, he found out that the chelation includes all of the Meyers and ozone IV treatments with it. So he wasted thousands of dollars on weeks of IV treatments that he now would have to get all over again just to get his chelation. While awaiting test results he was prescribed hundreds of dollars in supplements and allergy treatments for gut health, and when he got the test results, he had NO gut problems. And for months he was abiding Lifeworks's instruction to go on a strictly ketogenic diet, which is very high in protein, when in fact the best diet for Parkinson's is LOW protein, the complete opposite. There's too much more to mention it all, from Deon harassing me about my treatment decisions, to the incompetent nurse practitioner not noticing invalid tests results on my mother's testing until my mother pointed it out, because my mother is a doctor herself, to the employees not knowing anything about the treatments they're providing and can't accurately answer a single question about it, to Mary Pat telling me ozone inserted into my vagina can cure my endometriosis...please, give me a break. Oh, and the pop string quartet music playing in the lobby makes you want to throw yourself into traffic. And I still haven't mentioned everything. Please save yourself the frustration of coming here. Disgusting is more like it. I made an appt with LifeWorks last Thursday for myself and my daughter who actually had a more serious medical situation. They charged my cc a nonrefundable amount of $500. They do NOT take insurance. I have adrenal fatigue from an illness and having to take steroids, two rounds of antibiotics for a 3 week illness. I know I have a metabolic disorder and cannot process those kinds of meds and this isn't the first time since I'm aware of my condition. I called to cancel appt TODAY (Monday), days before the appt and they refuse to refund me and my daughter for our appts which LifeWorks could EASILY re-book and stay in good graces for a time when the situation arises. I went to this clinic with high expectations of help, especially with the sauna and IV treatment to assist with my shallow breathing and asthma. I saw Jennifer Baer whom I adored and felt she could help me. However, when I got to the office portion for payments, I was treated like I was beneath the CSR who demanded I pay the $6,500 before I could have the sauna/IV treatment. I had Jennifer choose the top three tests she thought necessary but the CSR would not budge. I left feeling very disgruntled. I explained this to Jennifer who said she has nothing to do with the front office - Wow! That was helpful! Six months go by and I get a letter from the doctor in charge stating it was a pleasure to meet me - that's funny; he never did meet me. And now I'm getting e-mails from them, like I would really be interested. No thanks! Aside from the fact that I'm now on 24/7 oxygen, what really is it that they could do for me now?
