This review is specifically for the badminton summer camps and staff. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her various sessions over this summer. We only first signed up for 1 week and my kids had such a great time, that they signed up for 2 more weeks. The teachers made the camp fun, were very nice to the kids, the staff was consistent over all the weeks that we attended. My daughter made many new friends! Great job and keep it up! I was enrolled for intermediate pickle ball this session of Winter 2924 .The coach there out of the blue decided to kick me out of the class after I won two 6 point games He name is Greg and is pretty obnoxious He only believe in dinking the ball not lobbing I normally play tennis . I demanding my partial refund back and out of 148 they agreed to send a check in 10 das for 127 because it was the third class Why don't they refund me on my card That coach is rigid and is always in your face . money doesn't grow on trees fool! read more

Very poor management. As mentioned by another reviewer, a couple times we were told classes were cancelled after we arrived, which is inconvenient but forgivable given the unpredictable weather patterns since late last year. But there are other bigger issues. The manager seemed rarely there and nonresponsive, and the employees were either not trained nor authorized to handle things. Somehow I stopped receiving their emails about rain cancellations and makeups, so I emailed and contacted via online portal to resolve the issue. No reply. I called several times and every time the manager wasn't there and never returned my phone calls although whoever picked up the phone said they'd leave her a note. Eventually the issue was solved, but the process was just so unpleasant and time consuming that I decided I had enough of their absurdity and left. Regarding to the classes, for two seasons, my kids were not motivated, whined before each class, and asked to quit. The instructors rotated quite frequently. Every time I practiced with them, they played like they've never taken any class. I thought tennis is not for them but still wanted to give it another try. Turned out not even half way into the new group lesson, the coach, who spent a bit time adjusting their posture, was blown away, saying my son is a natural and would make school team in two years if he keeps playing. My boy became very inspired and confident, and actaully enjoyed playing for the first time. I'm so glad I made the switch! read more

Hit or miss on class instructors. Learned a lot from one instructor then a new one took his place...ugh...he could NOT stop talking & what he said didn't help me get better just explained rules & how to--blah blah. There were times he talked for over 1/2 an hour-he just talked. There is no way to know who your instructor will be so will you have one who lets you play & helps YOU? Or one just talks a lot & enjoys the attention? I'd signed up for more classes, found out that I couldn't know who the class teacher would be until the first day. If you wait until the first day to withdraw you don't get your money back. I canceled my registration and asked for a refund. I say no to this place. read more

This is the only place that I know if that requires you to show up in person to get a pass. All other places allow you to get a pass online or at the door. Play is only on Saturday and the office is closed on Saturday. This is inconvenient read more

Nice facility but need to get with the 21st century and take Zelle and Venmo for payment for classes.

I really want to like this place, but I must say that they are not very direct as far as issuing credit for class cancellations due to poor air quality or weather. It's just a simple thing to do once the session is over, but it would take them months to do and if you don't keep track or forget about it, it will just simply never get mentioned again. Irresponsible management. 1. Expect classes to be cancelled after you arrive. 2. Expect make-up classes to be cancelled after you arrive. 3. When asked why no text messages were sent, they said they did not have phone number. When I showed previous cancellation messages sent by them, they did not have an answer. read more

EXCELLENT staff services at the reservation desk. Especially Olga, she took the extra "mile" to help my daughter to get a ball machine court tonight by calling us after someone cancelled last minute, took the trouble to extend 10 mins court use for the time short. THANK YOU , Olga! read more

This facility has a lot of well maintained tennis courts and instructors. While waiting for your child to finish his/her tennis lesson, you can walk around or read a book under plenty of shady trees. However, not can be said about their staff. During the pandemic, Ladies restroom has no hand soap. I called the facility and the girl who answered said she'd Get to it right away. After 1.5h, there is still no hand soap. They don't care about their client's safety. read more

Both of my kids go here. We've taken Red/Green/Blue and now Intro to Bronze tennis. My kids are not exactly great at sports in general or at tennis, but they've gotten noticeably better. Some coaches are better than others, and they don't have make-up classes, so the 4 instead of the 5 stars. The coaching wasn't bad at worst. Just, perhaps, uninspired at times. The office staff is great. The courts are nice. My kinds generally enjoy it. So... we keep going. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THIS CLASS. HE/SHE MAY LOOSE INTEREST IN TENNIS. I took my daughter to these. Tried it for six months. The lessons are so life less. They only teach very basic concepts in the most difficult way possible. Forehand/Backhand concepts are made such a big deal. Coaches keep on repeating front-hand and backhand as this is a difficult concept. It goes to the extent that kids may create a mental block for these concepts. Thinking that these are super difficult to master. Very few practice on court. Concepts are taught with kids in an academic manner. And after that they let kid play some games like scrambles which are totally waste of time. I was hoping that they'll have some focused sessions. Also once you take these session, each session is six week. Coaches start with basic concepts. They take kid to a very introductory session. No depth. After session is over, if you enroll for next one, it starts all over. Puts kids into a never ending learning loop. No incremental progress. No incrementally improving curriculum. When I talk to the head coach Jason for this, he started to upsell private one to one and other more expensive options. Seems like a waste of time and waste of money. And also the potential risk of making kid feel like tennis being extremely difficult. read more

I'm guessing that maybe some of the employees are high school kids making a few bucks. We asked a few questions about classes they offered on line via email. Got responses like: "yeah" or "no", One word responses, on the verge of rude. Turns out the responses were not correct. The class in the middle of winter we asked was indoor responded with a "yeah" was not indoors. It was outdoors in the rain. Think they should reconsider some of their employees. read more

My 4 1/2 year old son loves his first day! I enrolled him in the summer day camp for 4-6 y.o.The coaches were very supportive, engaging, and happy. The website is easy to navigate and I love the camp days/times options. So far, I would definitely sign him up again, and recommend to friends. read more

The Pleasanton location has Pickleball but it is extremely difficult to book. There is no online booking available - you must call. They have two courts available but their computer system only allows booking of one. They band-aided that situation by making a manual note for the 2nd court. For a while, it was a Post-It. The problem is that only some of the staff know how to do this, so when you call they usually incorrectly tell you that it is fully booked. Then you explain their system to them and where to check and if you convince them, then they book the 2nd court for you. Sometimes they don't understand and just tell you that you can't play. What I do now, is drive there to book a court in person. Today, it ended up with the employee and I both frustrated since she did not understand the method they use to book the 2nd court, even though it was open. During COVID, all local indoor pickleball has stopped. This would be a great opportunity for Lifetime to increase Pickleball customers. There are dozens of players in Pleasanton who have no place to play except Walnut Creek and Livermore. Drop-in play was happening at Pleasanton Middle School, the Bay Club and several other locations that are now shut-down. There are open courts all day at Lifetime during weekdays so why not have a drop-in time? It's very disappointing that they don't take the sport seriously and don't understand that there is a need in the community and the court booking procedure is ridiculous. read more

Good courts, bright lights, courteous staff. Rates are reasonable. Some of the classes/programs fill up very quick, so if you're interested, sign up right away. You can always get a refund later if you change your mind. The community leagues aren't offered anywhere else. The ball machine worked well, although some of the balls were quite dead. Lots of parking. read more
