The spinning class was taught by Paul and he pushed us HARD. He also made sure everyone was all set in the beginning, had a set of weights for arm exercises, and sometimes check people's forms while spinning. He kept me motivated to keep going and had great music. One thing I didn't like was that the bikes don't have a number for the resistance level; you just turn a knob and judge it based on how difficult it feels riding the bike. My opinion is that a quantifiable factor makes way for measuring improvement in fitness levels and health. The total body conditioning class was taught by Tom and I don't want to give away too much, but the class was amazing. It truly was total body; I came away with everything feeling sore in a good way. There were two sets of each workout (which equates to a round, for me) and then we jump rope 100 times. Each set had a variety of moves, some of them new to me, and I've already done many workout videos and been to other fitness classes. The workout area was also unforgiving yet encouraging. It was dim and mostly black, with the materials needed for the workouts all set up with minimal space taken up. However, we faced each other and Tom when working out, so this egged us on. In response to other review(s): Yes, this place isn't very big overall and doesn't seem to have the locker room that conventional gyms have. I always come in my gym clothes and leave in my gym clothes, and I literally only bring my phone and a water bottle. I also can't speak to how much each class costs and whether it's worth it or not, but judging by experiences themselves, I certainly enjoyed the classes.

Gashford's training sessions mix Muay Thai and regular weight lifting with some cardio. In only a couple months, I feel much stronger and have noticed increased focus and energy during the day after each session. He also has helped with meal planning and explains the science behind his workouts which i really appreciate. I've never really seen more than 10-15 people in the facility at a time, and as someone who hates big gyms, it's a super welcoming environments for complete newbies like myself. Chatter aside, you cannot discount the brilliant personal training and nutrition program that Skip has built which focuses on a few core things: water intake, macronutrients, plus an abbreviated training schedule. Go to any website and you get at least a FAQ overview. I provided 1 screenshot for context on the way he speaks to people, but there are many more examples. Also check out the not recommended reviews. There are Black health/fitness coaches out there that value and respect their potential clients. Skip is unfortunately not one of them. Do not recommend.

The space: Its cozy, simple, clean and still smells new…read more It's designed to make you feel like you're the only girl/boy in the world with your dedicated trainer. I'm impressed at how efficient and configurable Nate has made this space. I hardly notice when he's setting up to have me work on the next thing. That said the equipment is basic enough that you can replicate the routines at any commercial gym. The Trainer: Nate knows his stuff! First of all I blew my lower back out doing burpees in a kickboxing class due to the recommended form. My partner who also trains with him recommended Nate to me. So we met and right away Nate evaluated me and built a 4 day workout plan that I can do on my own. Additionally, he's corrected everything I've done wrong for years and helped me isolate muscles to maximize the effectiveness of the workout. He's also introduced me to amino acids (I know...basic stuff, but not to me) he also taught me a lot of new challenging stuff and makes sure I keep up with my diaphragm exercises to strengthen my back. So far my results have been great (lost 12lbs, increased muscle mass) which is a bit of a mind trip because I'm never tired or in pain! Above all, Nate is very personable and charming! I've seen him flex his communication style to work with people all over the spectrum (a business man at heart). He's also in great shape which is aspirational and I guess what you'd want in a personal trainer. I haul my developing buns of steel 18 blocks to train with Nate, he's been worth every penny, I doubt you'll be disappointed!

The petty monitors at the front will screech @ you and beg you to rejoin months before your time is up. Yes they are that desperate and pathetic. Due to a number of reasons, I would like a full refund. I will no longer be attending Dolphin Fitness for my workouts. I am no longer comfortable working out there and each year I find my workouts at this club less and less enjoyable. My decision is based on a number of reasons. 1. I am tired of dealing with the minefield of overly crowded equipment on the workout floor from Dolphin's other previously closed down clubs. It's not only an eyesore but it's also probably a fire hazard and increasingly more dangerous. My bruised up shins are the proof. 2. The men's locker room is just as filthy, gross, unappealing and inconvenient as it's always been there are always gnats flying all over the one urinal in the entire gym. It's tiny, crammed and uncomfortable. Given the fact that it hasn't changed at all in the 15 years that I've been a member, other than a couple of new lightbulbs that have recently been installed. Bravo. 3. The consistently abysmal attitude from half of the cleaning staff is annoying. I shouldn't pay to deal with attitudes from miserable people. 4. The increasingly inept decision making from the management is concerning. There have also been more and more instances of management siding with increasingly troublemaking personal trainers who are always starting fights with members over equipment. The gym is overcrowded and inconvenient but the management will always side with the trainers because it brings money to the club. 5. Dolphin fitness clubs is clearly a dying brand. All other DF clubs are closed down, probably for good reason. This last ditch effort to renovate the last DFC to try to make it look like something other than an old bowling alley with decades old weight equipment strewn all over the floor is laughable. They will most likely be out of business entirely soon as all their other locations are long gone. You really take your chances joining. Stay far away from this garbage club. There are plenty of options better than this terrible establishment.

Yoomi always spends the first few minutes of the session assessing your body and finding areas that are imbalanced.
