I can't recommend working with Devin highly enough. He's an extraordinary coach; I can't imagine there's someone better out there for me to work with personally, and I suspect this is something you'd likely hear from the vast majority of Devin's clients. I was referred by Devin by a friend that is a successful executive. At the time, was feeling overwhelmed by running my own business, dealing with a debilitating health issue, trying to improve a few professional and personal relationship that were suboptimal, etc. I met Devin on the initial consultation and almost immediately found it was incredibly easy to talk to him and that he understood my issues. Having worked with a few coach/therapist types in the past, I've found it can be exhausting when there is not a personal chemistry. Trying to explain your complex personal or professional issues to someone with whom you don't click is a drag of epic proportions, and Devin just seems to have a preternatural ability to understand exactly what you mean, or the underlying issue, of a particular issue or issues. During my work with Devin, we've covered just about everything you could think of; the operations of my company, how to improve my general organization, how to improve my bad back, learning to become less reactive in situations, improving a troubled family relationship, improving time management, improving health through diet/curtailing drug/alcohol, spiritual exploration through meditation, launching a new product etc. I think Devin's range as a coach sets him apart; he's equally comfortable getting in the weeds on business strategy or talking about a spiritual crisis and everything in between. I think for most of us these days the walls between personal/professional/romance/spirituality/health do not exist. One affects the other and Devin's approach is truly comprehensive. The common thread is that Devin helps to develop a framework to deal with something and a clear path of how to make progress. It's akin to getting new prescription glasses after your vision has gotten fuzzy; things become clearer and progress accelerates. Over the past two years, I've gotten married, divorced, moved three times, dealt with a parent's illness, and quit my job to attend graduate school for an MFA in Screen and TV writing. I graduate next month and wanted to work with a coach to weather the transition back to the real world. Confidence, diligence and purpose are paramount for any career, but especially one in the arts. In seeking a coach, I hoped to create a toolkit for maintaining momentum and perspective no matter the circumstances. The first activity Devin gives is writing out goals and lifestyle patterns. Subsequent sessions are structured around the progress of these goals and the analysis of patterns. Devin has incredible listening and detail-retention skills, and was often able to make connections that turned out to be key components in exploding negative patterns. Most sessions gave me an "aha" moment. It's hard work to be honest with yourself, but Devin is very compassionate. At several points, change required confronting rough questions, but I always felt nurtured, safe and accepted. The numerous techniques he offers focus on the positive, so it never felt like there was anything "wrong" or shameful, but rather limitless potential for improvement. I was constantly impressed by the variety of support Devin offers. He has a huge stock of practical methods to deal with all kinds of blocks, and is rigorous about checking in/examining their effectiveness, and trying new things if necessary. This was incredibly helpful in boosting my productivity and confidence. He also introduced me to many lifestyle methodologies and (for want of a better word) gurus, which have given me a greater sense of purpose. Since beginning our course of sessions, I have broken through a bunch of limits, including finishing several projects that were weighing on me and getting closer to my partner. Where I used to fear working and stress out about inadequacy, I have come to enjoy writing for the first time in years - and when I don't, I have the tools to get back to a positive, productive place. 2016 was a challenging year for so many of us, but it was this year that I decided to take things into my own hands, with the help of professional guidance. After some research on who to go to for some career coaching, and a little back and forth with a few of the top contenders, I took advantage of Lifestyle Integrity's free consultation. I was nervous. I'm not a natural "sharer," but Devin put me at ease immediately. I knew that I had to make the investment in myself, my growth, my future, and take the next step by working with Devin. I was pretty adamant that I didn't want our work to be focused on my fitness or physical self, as I felt my happiness was more deeply related to my career and how to make the five versions of my resume into one authentic "me." I am head of HR for Saban Brands and hired Devin to facilitate our Executive Offsite Retreat consisting of 11 divisional heads and our CEO. The result is a more grounded, connected team who understands one another better. It has been about 2 years since I posted my review of working with Devin. I had always intended to update this review after letting some time pass, hoping that it would help provide more insight for you. I am a successful Entrepreneur and single dad who thought he had all the answers... until a few months ago. I traveled to New York for a fresh start, but I was also stuck when I got there because I didn't know where to start to make changes. I worked with Devin from September to the start of January 2017. At the time I started seeing him, I was 1.5 years out of college, had absolutely no idea what to do with my life going forwards career-wise, I was stuck, and had just moved back to the place I grew up in NYC. I recommend Devin with my whole heart. Getting to spend time with him and absorb all of his wisdom has been the best decision - financial and otherwise - that I have made. It's truly hard to put into words what Devin Martin and his program have done for me. I reached out to Devin for guidence in getting back to a healthy state after going through a 7 month battle with cancer (chemo, surgeries, and utter hell) and got way more than I had ever expected. I honestly couldn't recommend Hana highly enough, and I have already referred one of my closest friends to her. I reached out to Hana initially for career coaching, and this absolutely was the focus of our sessions together for the 12 week coaching program. I originally trained as a commercial litigation lawyer, but was looking for a new professional pathway. Hana helped and guided me through this process in a way that felt very natural and supportive, to a point where I am able to continue on my pathway by myself. However, because of the wholistic nature of Hana's approach, we also worked together on some general life goals to help me reduce general anxiety and stress, and to feel a little more centered and empowered. I was at a place in life where I needed guidance on how to move forward. I found myself tremendously overthinking everything and worrying about others' perceptions of me...almost so much so that I began to exclude myself from many day to day activities. Devin deals in personal transformation, and he's good at it. At the very least, he helped me right the course, which seemed impossible a year ago. I came to his program with a bag full of paralyzing problems, laced with confusion about where my life was heading. He quickly helped me sift through the mental clutter and focus on the foundational kernels at play. It's only been about half a year since first speaking with Devin, and my life is already remarkably different. I'm doing the things that I want to be doing and am happier and calmer for it. This is officially my first yelp review. Until now, I haven't been compelled enough to even create an account.
