I went both Life Path Systems in Plano and longer in McKinney and they will cause you psychosis. Don't walk away, run away. The man from India as the psychiatrist was not well and nor was the counselor, those two were in McKinney. First, he caused anal fissure by taking my sugar way up. And then, he kept adding anti-psychotics for no good reason. Altogether, this place will keep you sick and get you sicker. Pretty much, it is a system of cops and forced drugging and forced hospitalizations releasing you to this place and if you get scared into conformity, they will for sure cause you the only psychosis you will ever have till you figure out what had just happened. I came to LifePath Systems after dealing with the privet sector and insurance. Of course you know when you run out of money, you run out of help. LifePathSystems did the interview session. The interviewer was very helpful in what needed to be done. I received my review and on my income (pre medicare) and the pay amount was very doable. I was assigned my "Case Manager" and she set out to get me lined out. Wonderful!! She takes the time needed to be sure I have the tools I need for my treatment. She has yet to not have an answer, or know where to get answers to my questions. Then there is the "peer group"! Amazing idea! They pare you with someone who is close to your mental problems so they understand what you are going through. An absolutely amazing idea. The "Adictions Assestance" is greate.. Though I beat all my addections in the 1980's, I never thought about being affected to "falior"... Of course I do not want to post "names" but.. Just let it be said. My experience so for has been amazing. I must remind anyone seeking assistance? These folk are bound by County and State funds.. You have to be patient when they are working with you yo get the treatment you need. I have read post where people complained about how long it took to get them in? Be patient. I use to love to work for Lifepath it was so great people were great. Unfortunately I had to make the hard decision of leaving where I loved to work and help due to a supervisor CHRISTINE WARDEN who was a bully, liar, and used her authority in such a spiteful way. She had gotten away with so much and lost a good team. I think that HR should listen to the employee instead of letting a mean girl run off people that really put their heart into the job. The harassment the embarrassment the drama the anxiety that she caused me has caused more damage to my mental working somewhere I'm trying to help others with their mental. I have never seen a medical facility so poorly managed in my entire life - and we were previously at METROCARE... To start, no one knows how the YES! Waiver works, because every employee tells me to "get my son on the list," though you wouldn't know how... no one actually specifies it's just a phone line you add the person's name to (simple information that could have been told to me by literally ANY one of the people I spoke to about it... if you're gonna offer it, tell someone HOW to apply, don't just make them go look, we're sick people... we need your help or we wouldn't be here...) THEN when I actually get this YES Waiver person on the phone, they tell me my son wouldn't be a good fit for services? A: Again, we are not mentally well people that you're addressing... don't throw discouraging news at us when you promised so much from the same service... which apparently none of your employee knows how it functions, or they wouldn't just throw the offer at anyone, would they? WHICH BRINGS ME TO B: Why do you have employees raving about a service that you can't even offer everyone? Or, maybe whoever is on your queue phone line needs more education - either in the service itself, or classes in empathy... I wish that was all... I scheduled an appointment for last Friday 3-18-22. They called me to say the prescriber was taking a "personal day" and needed to reschedule. So, I agreed to this Wednesday 3-22-22 (apparently you can't "Schedule" a virtual appointment? lol so 1:15-5:15 is your stand-by... like I called someone to come repair my fridge or something...) and stated my partner would have to be there with my son as I just started a new job. They told me I just had to sign an authorization form, and that would be okay. On Tuesday 3-21-22 I managed to make it to the office before close and sign TWO authorizations/release forms (because "Domestic Partner" is not an appropriate designation for someone's relationship to me?), then find out on the day of the appointment THEY DIDN'T EVEN SCAN IT IN AND ATTACH THE FORM TO OUR CHART!!! So we missed my son's appointment. He is out of medication (because we were pushed and begged and cajoled to join Life Path systems by his school and multiple police officers who have assisted us with him in the past). I called to make a new appointment, and although the scheduler tried her hardest, you people don't have any appointments for pediatric prescribers for THREE WEEKS. I am taking this to the Better Business Bureau, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and likely the local news to make sure LifePath services isn't allowed to treat people like this anymore. It is simply ridiculous that your office is run this way. And now my son will likely make repeated elopement attempts and cause himself, me, HIS TEACHERS AT SCHOOL, and my partner **all** harm. Management does NOT care about the people they manage but they get paid a lot more. There is a lot of PTO but it is impossible to use without falling behind on work, and if you fall behind on work, you get written up. There is insurance benefits you only save pennies. He has also been delusional for several days and highly agitated. The frickin' police said he was "lucid" and there was no reason for them to transport my son to a mental hospital. They let him leave on foot to go God-knows-where! If my son ends up committing suicide because they did nothing but talk to him, I will sue them! Incredibly unprofessional establishment. If you are mentally I highly recommend avoiding all of Lifepath if you don't want to lied too then exploited. They claim to be a non profit but you'll see a bill before you see a counselor, or even a doctor. Money is what they care about, if you don't have it, you don't matter to them. For 2 appointments that are the same, it's 100 before you get the help. I practically begged for help before the pandemic and was only given a bill after being lied too by my case manager. They also gave me a false diagnosis, they didn't give me an evaluation but had a diagnosis ready. read more

I arrived at 7:40am for my 8:00am appointment. The doors were not opened until 8:00am and I signed in and handed my slip to the woman at the front desk asap. I watched a someone get called back immediately and expected the same would happen with me. 8:15 I'm still sitting in the lobby waiting and getting nervous. I go to the front desk and ask them why it's taking so long and she said "Don't worry, they will call you back shortly." It was around 8:20 by the time my name was called. The counselor looked confused and asked me what time I came in. According to her, the front desk didn't even sign me in until I had gone up the second time and asked why I wasn't called back. There are penalties for missing and being late for appointments and those women put that in jeopardy. I do not want to ever see their faces behind that glass again. Instead of catching up (yes the lobby can hear EVERYTHING ya'll are chatting about) sign your patients in. This was my first appointment here and I really needed it. This has been the worst place I've been to. They shouldn't use the word "System" in their name because they don't have one. You see the dr/np one day and it takes five days for your meds to arrive. Then YOU have to make time to get back up there. Once you do, they take over an hour to get to you to get your meds. Well in my case, I've been here 1.5 hrs only to be told they forgot to tell me 20 mins ago that there's some issues with me prescriptions. I was told I could go home and come back. I was on time for all appointments and waited for every appointment, with out fail..the most disturbing was my 2 hour wait to see the physicians assistant, kimi. I kept seeing others who came in later than me and being seen first,, I ask the receptionist to again let her know I was waiting for a appointment I was told she couldn't relay the message. A few years ago, LifePath was patient oriented. Now it's just a mess. Patients are objects; experiments. They have critically ill patients assigned to trainee counselors who only make the condition worse. I was tortured in a court of law(lessness) and ordered into a state of slavery - which exacerbated my existing C-PTSD. I went to Lifepath because the TX court deprived me of my property and rights so I couldn't afford adequate mental health care. I was told that my condition was not in their approved book so they would treat me according to what was in the book. WTH! I was paired with a series of counselors who discounted my symptoms and kept trying to use CBT. This approach was not effective for me because I'm chronically dissociated so 'homework' is useless unless you can be certain of the fugue you're assigning it to. Even when I explain this, it's the only approach in their book so they cannot offer other ways to help me manage my disability. Most counselors ask me to talk about stressors through the week then say, "I gotta go", leaving me in stressed out state which creates a new trauma for me. I'm better off using grounding apps at home. read more

My son has been coming here since September 2019. They've done nothing good for him. Huge wait times. Poor service. The first time he came in we waited six hours in the waiting room while my son had a huge meltdown and was biting and hurting me and attempting to hurt other people, and they couldn't have cared less. They seem to never get the information from his pediatrician that faxes things over to them. His medicine always has some kind of issue and then he's going 3/4 days unmedicated every month because they can't get their shit together and get the prescription sent to cvs, and then blames cvs for not getting it. Cvs will tell me and show me that they never bothered to call or send the refills in. Their response to me calling in and requesting a refill is we will call you back. I then spend the next four hours on the phone calling cvs and lifepath trying to get this sorted out. I've called and talked to "supervisors" and the "quality assurance" people who say they're going to figure out why this is happening and get back with me. They never do. The complaints are unheard and they do not care about the patients there. This happens consistently with this place and it's not safe and okay to have someone off of meds out of no where like they're doing to my kid. I'm sure they're doing it to other people too if my kid has had this many problems. Today I went in and demanded his prescription they messed up again and his entire medical file so we could be done with this horrid place. They told me they could call me back and fax the documents over to his pediatrician. I refused to do that and sat there for about two and a half hours today and demanded they hand me physical copies of everything. They finally did and now I no longer have to put my kid through their abuse. Looking through the paper work today from everything there, they diagnosed him with two different things and only treated one. HOW IS THAT EFFECTIVE? It's not. As of now, I am consulting with a lawyer and will be figuring out how to make this place stop treating people so badly, and he won't be receiving services from here again. read more

I volunteered at church for a program that provides transportation for people who need it to receive Mental Health Services. I've been to the Alma Center 8 times during the past 3 months. In a word, the experiences have been HORRIBLE! During the first vist, I waited with the patient for nearly 90 minutes when we were finally told that the Dr. wasn't coming in and that we would have to reschedule. With another patient we arrived on time and were told that benefits could not be verified in the 5 minutes time until the appointment. The clerk took the insurance card and the patients phone number and my phone number promising to call back that afternoon with another appointment. There was no telephone call to the patient or myself. I called several times and just got message "No one is available to take your call." Finally at 4p I drove the 6 miles to the Alma Center to inquire what was happening. There was a sign on the door that said "Closed today at noon, will reopen at 730a tomorrow. OK, a short day...the person might have forgotten about it when she told me she'd call back. Well, the next day went by and no call either. I read another comment about the handicap bathroom - EEEEKKKK! It's a unisex bathroom that gets cleaned annually - whether it needs it or not. On the day I walked in the toilet was full of tp and "floaters" - wouldn't flush. There were even dog turds on the floor from somebody's service dog that went in there to poop. This is a mental health provider of last resort. If you have a choice, any choice at all, take it and do not choose this provider. The personnel here are low paid and (I think) clerical staff from some sort of remedial program. They don't care and it shows. If you have no money, no insurance and need mental health services, the Alma Center might look a little better. But honestly, it's a smelly hell-hole where the staff will waste a lot of your time. read more

I have had my share of low-cost mental health clinics. I travel from Cedar Hill, TX. to see my MH providers here. In the beginning I was skeptical. However, the care that is provided here is like no other. Especially coming from MetroCare in Dallas. The Alma Center is a non-profit organization, so yes, they are designed to help those who do not have insurance, have government assistance, no income, etc. That being said, their case load is HUGE. I have never had to wait over 20 minutes for my doctor or my therapist. I see my doc once every 3 months now (or as needed) and my therapist as often as I like. Even if it is every week. They have transferred out the original front desk ladies to somewhere else in the office and have new ladies up front. I have not had an issue. Of course, being on assistance, I know to call ahead and verify that everything is good to go before I make the trip out there. I take my own toilet covers wherever I go, so no issue there, but I have never seen the bathroom dirty. Old? Yes, very! Could it use some airing out? Yep. Most definitely. I am glad I have never seen the side that the previous reviewer saw. It sounds like a very bad ordeal overall. My experiences there have always been good, if not great. read more

I will forever be grateful to the LifePath staff. I needed their services during a very difficult time in my life. Not only did they give me the help and resources needed to get back on my feet, they gave me competent medical attention and recovery care. The staff was caring, empathetic, helpful and attentive. Don't get me wrong - not everyone or everything is perfect all the time. There are long wait times and you have to follow up from time to time but they are free to low cost and so they can't run like paid places. They don't have the budget. But to anyone complaining, I would challenge them and ask if they felt empowered to take the wheel of their recovery or medical program. I did. Then I would ask them if they took charge of their plan, were proactive and did their part to be successful in their treatment plan. My guess is that they expected to be enabled or wanted someone else to do the hard lifting for them. And I get it. There were days when I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning, let alone do the heavy lifting. But the care, medical attention and motivation I got from them got me out of some really dark places. Overall my experience was good and I would highly recommend their services. Especially to those in need of low cost or free services. read more

You can get far superior healthcare from private practice. A community clinic should be a last resort place to go, like if you are extremely limited on funds. I only get to see my doctor every 3 months and therapist about half that time. Not when I want to or like to. And yes you can get into a private practice with medicare/medicaid, it's just not that many out there but they are out there. I've had my share of many many private practices and two community clinics. I would be able to see my doctor every month and therapist every week or more in a private practice. I think most of the staff/providers here mean well, but I believe their case load is just too big and recently a few doctors and therapists quit working here and it has gone slightly downhill. That is mainly my point anyway. Their case loads are way too big and so their availability to be able to see you severely suffers. read more

I connected with life path to get help for our 20 year old son with moderate to severe autism. we had been on the waiting list for 10 years. The first visit we waited over an hour and then the girl just left we were suppose to meet. We rescheduled and all was well but then we needed a Dr. to switch medicine, They sent us to Dr. Zainab Zia. I think she called CPS on us for changing back to what worked on medications when what she subscribed didn't work. This is crazy. We have been trying to use supplements all his life and fight the Drs, who have tried to put him on all kinds of medicine. She has no clue about autism and how our children stay up or wake up during the night. CPS showed up the day after my husband took our son for a visit to see her. WE have dedicated our lives to our son. I like the girl who comes to my home but my husband and I have decided we would not use their service any longer and we have not connected with cps yet as they came when our son was in school. We have already responded to letter but as I said this is absolutely crazy. Maybe they call CPS on everyone so we want use them. I don't know but I have some serious contacts and they will be on TV if they mess with us. read more
