I know to some, a gym is a gym, but I am one who is very particular about the amenities I use. I was glad to find a Life Time Fitness that was conveniently located between work and home. For anyone who has worked out at a Life Time Fitness location, the difference is obvious. Clean, spacious facilities with friendly staff and additional amenities that make going to the gym fun for every member of the family. What I like about this location is that it is well built and large enough to handle the large number of regulars. I was a member of a different gym before coming to this one and had to avoid going during specific times because there would be a shortage of parking and cardio equipment. Even in January, when we all know all the "new year resolution workouts" are in full swing, there was never a shortage of equipment at this Champions location. I know that it costs a little more to be a member here than other gyms, but as we all know....you get what you pay for. Since new management the club has improved. The mens locker room has updated lockers. No more having to carry your locker keys around! The personal trainers are all nice and knowledgeable. Worth the price if you want the results. The club has a massage/Hair studio and a cafe inside. The cafe prices are reasonable. You can even get a single scoop of pre workout from the cafe for less than 2$. Well worth it when youre out of preworkout and cant afford to buy a 30 dollar container. The gym rates are high but that keeps out the riff raff... No having to worry about your locker being broke into. Scott was rude and soiteful at the end of his pitch as I did not take his option which was to pay 89.00 a month plus tax every month I told him I only use the gym and weights and if I could put a big down payment and make the monthly payment around 50.00 a month I could work with that he said NO and that there is no down and the monthly is 89.00 plus tax no exceptions I told him that is not acceptable for what I will be using at the gym he said well that is what he can offer as if he was a robot !! I really enjoy going to Lifetime gym the only downfall for me is the price. If you are only paying for yourself then it probably won't seem like a lot. But me, my husband and my two kids are on a membership plan and it really does add up. The benefits of the gym are that there aren't that many people every time we go. my kids ask to go to the kids club every day and enjoy going swimming right after. I'm not one to complain about non crucial issues and I hesitate in a way to write this because Lifetime is a very nice Gym, but for those with older kids something bugs the hell out of me about this location. You notice the cute pictures of the kids play area with the slide and maze? It's NEVER OPEN. I have been with my kid on several occasions and the website clearly states the hours of the kids maze, yet when we arrive we are given some lame excuse as to why they refuse to open the gym for the kids to play basketball and enjoy the slide. I've heard everything from "we don't have enough staff" to"we don't have enough kids" and another gem "we are about to close so we don't allow anyone back there now" this was said at 3pm one Saturday and they close at 5pm. Here is what's really going on: they don't want to get up and walk to the back and have to do anything with the kids. They would much rather keep them locked up at the front to watch a movie and play with toys donated from a 3 yr old, which works if your kid is 3 years old, not so much if they are 7. Now don't get me wrong, I get it-you can't expect top notch child care for low price- but that's just it. Alone I would be charged $50 a month but with the kid my bill is $90 a month. I'm not sure about anyone else, but for $40 a month the least they can do is allow my kid to play in the nice kids gym they like to show off so much. If you figure how much they are charging each parent for their kid to go to this club they could easily afford to have staff on hand to run the kids gym 24/7. It's hard to see your kid disappointed, thinking he's going to get to play in the maze and shoot hoops and be told to go watch Monsters Inc. for the 30th time. Not to mention when I sneak up there to check things out, nobody is interactive with the kids they just mindlessly direct them to an activity and stand around looking bored. read more

My husband and I joined lifetime a week ago. We were extremely excited to be joining the gym for the programs that would benefit our daughter. We came to work out today (3-12-16) and I was told that I would have to turn my tshirt inside out. Last I checked, there was freedom of speech in this country. This is not junior high or high school where attire should be monitored and censored. I was not showing any inappropriate body parts and I was not in any body's way. We came to mind our own business and work out. We didn't even work out and we promptly cancelled our membership. I will not be told what I can and cannot wear from an establishment that costs an arm-and-a-leg to be a member of. If you are looking for a place that censors your every move and the clothes you wear, by all means this is the place for you. read more

The best-equipped gym that I have used in the area. I stick mostly with free weights and cable based exercises, and almost never find myself waiting for weights or space to free up. There are plenty of machines, treadmills, and core exercise spaces too, if that's more your style. They have quite a bit of pool space too, which i should use more often. The staff is helpful and pleasant to interact with, they definitely notice regular gym-goers. I rarely take advantage of the food that they sell, but everything that I have had has been good. The main downside is the price ($60 for a single membership, food isn't super cheap either), but this place beats out the 24 hour fitness I used for a couple of months. As a side note, the entire building is really well lit. Helps keep me focused, not sure if it matters to others. Oh, and basketball courts, volleyball nets, a pretty decent rock climbing wall...easily the second best gym I have used in my lifetime (puns lol...best overall goes to the ARC at UIUC). Bonus downside: No running track. But I am not aware of any gym in the area that has one. read more

We've been going here for over a year and have never had an issue. Of course it costs more per month than your average gym membership but if you ask me, it's totally worth it. They have awesome group fitness classes like Insanity, Pilates on T/Th, barre classes, Aqua fitness classes, and all kinds of yoga (my favorite is the hot yoga, which gets packed so come early)! Love the towel service, the 3 pools, superb cleanliness on the floor, clean daycare for the kids, and the fact that you can always get on a machine even during peak hours! We've tried out almost every other gym in the surrounding area but they all seem packed, unorganized, outdated, and there was always a musty smell when you first walk in - I know, I know, it's a gym and people sweat, but Lifetime doesn't have that issue! Being the total germaphobe that I am, I'm completely comfortable here and will be sticking with it even if that means driving 30 minutes out of my way 3-4 times a week. Love you Lifetime! read more

I have been a member of this location for almost 4 years now. I absolutely love this place and have even purchased my mom a gym membership here as well. I think I use most of the amenities at lifetime so for me the price has been worth it. They offer heated yoga which is great and the cycling studio has new bikes with a built in computer so you know your RPM's. I've always been told that if a class isn't going on members are allowed to enter the cycling studio and use the bikes. This was great when I needed to get some training done on the bike. There are plenty of rowing machines and a new layout upstairs. There was some remodeling done in the last year. With the remodeling they added platforms for lifting and bumper plates. There are TRX bands out and available for anyone to use as well. There are always clinics going on showing members how to use some of the new equipment and you can always ask a trainer how something works. The showers and steam room in the woman's locker room are cleaned on a daily basis. I've been very happy since becoming a member here and the times when something went wrong, I talked to my member advisor, Brent, and he always made it right. I've never had any security issues or anything stolen. Anything I have left behind at the gym has always been returned to me, including my gold college ring which I left in a cup holder (on two separate occasions). One of the trainers took the time to look me up in the system and call me to notify me that it was found. This gym has become my second home and I love it. Now if only they served margaritas by the pool in the summer...then it would be perfect. read more

Stay away. For several reasons. The staff is not friendly. For example, I have been taking the same classes for several months. The instructors have their favorite students and the other students get ignored. There seems to be heavy turn over in trainers and instructors. The morning fitness classes are all crowded, it is difficult to get a space. The yoga instructors are not helpful The stretching machines are in a state of disrepair. The contract policies are extremely one sided i.e. they raised my monthly dues with 2 weeks notice but to cancel you have to give a minimum of 7 weeks notice. The facility is very clean and nice but the service is way below standards. I have been a member of this place over two years now and have enjoyed it a lot until I took my newly wedded wife for a tour, so she can join the club if she likes it. I got greeted at the front desk by this girl and informed me that I need to pay $15 to let my wife use the facility. I asked her if there is any visitor's pass she can give us, but she told me they don't give out visitor's pass due to security reason. I demanded that I should talk to one of the managers, but none on sight. I have seen them let others in all the time while I was working out there, but the girl stated they don't give out any. I was not very pleased, so I asked them to cancel my membership and been informed that I need to pay for October (due to their billing cycle, but it is just the beginning of September now). I didn't want to deal with this ridiculous situation, so I wanted to cancel my membership online or over the phone, but been told I need to do it in person. My wife waiting and all, so I told them I will go back there some other time to cancel my membership. The level of their service has been very disappointing, therefore, I am giving them one star, but I wish I had an option to give them negative 5 stars. I was a member for several years really like the gym and the staff...however, I loss my job therefore; I was going to cancel my membership. Desk services recommended me to put my ms on hold for $10 per month with access to the gym 2nd and 4th weekend of the month. So I thought it was a good idea. my then 20 year old was on my account and got the date mixed up so he showed up at the gym they told him the deal the account was on hold but if he like to pay for a month service to use the gym he could. my son not knowing it would be charged to me and reactivated he said ok. So know I'm realizing my card has been charged $75.99 without my permission and I called and they said nothing they can do my son activated my account that is not true (he called me when he was there telling what was going on) and he can do so even if it's my card and the membership being under my name. so if you cancel or place on hold make Sure You Are Not Being CHARGED for Services YOU ARE NOT USING. Because they don't' care as long as they get the money. I was going to reactivate However now they left a bad taste in my mouth I will stay at the small gym I'm at until I want to move then I will find a new larger gym to workout at. I have been member of this facility for many years and with time the facility has deteriorated and the quality of service and management has been on decline. The main problem, as I have experienced, is the bad management of the facility. The most important issue is inappropriate management of machines in the facility. Such as: 1. There are machines placed in stretching and Abs area resulting in having very limited room for stretching and abs workout 2. Some machines are not in use at all but you find them in large numbers, whereas, some machines that are in high demand are just few and always there is someone waiting on to use that machine. 3. Quite good number of machines are having issues such as worn-out rubber on handles, not recording heart rate, etc. The above issues were discussed with the facility manager more than once, but nothing has improved since then. Further to that, the trainer, at the facility, require supervision of someone who knows workout. My wife, used to be member of the facility, got a trainer and soon after that developed knee pain problem leading to surgery. The facility can be great place to workout and can be means for improving health, if the management improves its practices and the way they are currently managing the facility. Z.
