Lifetime is one of the Best gyms in the area no doubt. I didn't mind the price of the membership because I felt my family truly enjoyed their gym experiences. I was told my membership price would be locked in and I wouldn't have to worry about a price change. 9 years later , my membership has increased every year by 2-3 dollars at the same time. Oh my! Talk about THE mecca of gyms! I visited Lifetime with my son, daughter in-law and toddler grandson while visiting them for two weeks from Virginia! My children took me to watch Logan participate in his swim classes! Not only were the instructors professional and caring they were engaged and quite "magical" with each parent and child! What pure joy watching him giggle and smile as he was being gently and mythidically dunked in the pool! Bravo for the way you teach young 18 months old to swim!! Every parent should be required to participate with their child in this life skill!! What an impressive staff from start to finish! I only wish Lifetime was located in Virginia Beach, Virginia! The Steam Room (Wet) is the reason to have a lifetime membership. It's the only reason I won't let it go. Best times are early morning on weekends and late evening. No crowds. The lady at the front desk named Carrie is extremely rude, not only was she rude to me, but my elderly mother who struggles walking, and my father. This club is way to expensive, to treat people like shit. Carrie is bad for business and I left due to her ongoing rudeness, she is especially rude to women that and more attractive then her (which is mostly everyone). The first time she was extremely rude I threatened to report her to her boss and she came to me very apologetic later as I was leaving so, I let her be and did not speak to her manager, which was a big mistake because the rudeness continued. When my mother asked her for help with something she told her to sit down and wait, and then ignored her for and hour, and she ended up getting someone else to help her, but I know she just ignored her on purpose. This place needs to use better judgement and hire happy upbeat people at the front and maybe someone who looks like they have stepped foot in a gym before. On the bright side Carrie doesn't work at LA fitnesses so my family will be going there! read more

They have a climbing tower, two full basketball courts, the best shower section I have ever seen, the widest selection of machines, in door pool and outdoor pool, and a cafe that only serves healthy food. read more

The absolute best gym in the Memphis area. Equipment is great. The facility is always clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. The childcare staff are all very attentive and caring. Even if we were told we will not have to pay for the time we are not using the Life Time Center because of the coronavirus threat, I feel I have been let down, with just video tutorials that explain how to perform a particular exercise. Lifetime has practically everything you could want in a fitness club, including an outdoor pool with a great water slide. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Classes are offered across a range of interests and are always convenient. The only downside is the large number of kids that run around. I joined Lifetime October 2014. Best decision I ever made. Facility is always clean. Group Fitness classes are awesome. Most yoga classes are catered to Lifetime and they are amazing. Love Hip Hop spinning as well as Dance Jam. The club is priced right for the amenities as well as the quality of classes. If you are looking for a great gym, this one is the best! The Life Cafe has great food and I love the smoothies. The food is great and priced right as well. The Life Spa was also good. I received a massage from Chris. I enjoyed the experience as well. I plan to try the pedicures soon as I am looking to keep my feet ready for sandal season. Looking forward to the outdoor pool this summer. Best decision I have made. I really enjoyed going here for the first few months but have a major issue with their management. Once you are signed up they try to milk every dime out of you. I was on medical leave for one year and they continued to draft my account (even after me giving them a doctors note the first month). Then after I got them to stop drafting my account (3 months worth) they won't refund my money.. Finally when I told them I wanted to end my membership from all the grief and headache they wanted more money for the cancellation. It's a nice building but beware! read more

I vacillated between 3 and 4 stars. I am signing on in irritation so I want to give it 3 stars, but there is a lot to like so I will go with 4 stars with some caveats. I love working out here and my kids love all the children's classes and activities, as well as the pool. The swim lesson instructors are great with them, as are all the folks in the children's play room. The staff is very nice and helpful and they go out of their way to get the door when you're lugging in your bags and your kids. I love the class instructors as well - lots of great yoga classes. Amy is fabulous. And I have discovered a massage therapist in the spa who seriously works miracles (Christopher). The food in the cafe is healthy and good. There really is something for everyone. So, lots to like! But I have two complaints... While 99% of the people are nice and honest (I left a pair of sunglasses in the locker room one day and they were turned in immediately), we have had some things stolen recently and that just makes me feel icky. This week it was some swimsuits. Who steals used swimsuits? Tacky. We have a pool in our neighborhood at home and people leave things there all the time and they are sitting where they are left so I don't think this is a Collierville wide thing. This morning we went over and there were two cops pulling in right in front of us. We ended up chatting with them for a moment and they told us to NEVER, EVER, EVER leave anything of any value whatsoever in our cars at the gym (and in Collierville in general, I guess) because people watch you do so and then break in. They said don't trust the lockers in LT either. So that brings me to my second issue with the club and that is their spa pricing. When we joined I asked for the book of services, which had printed prices. After a treatment, I inquired as to why the price I was charged was more than the book states. They said this book is used LT wide and the Collierville one is a "nicer" or "more upscale" LT gym so their prices are commensurate. Um, so I get to pay more for a "nicer" gym where my stuff gets stolen? How is that "upscale"? We are relatively new to the area so maybe we just need to figure things out here, but this is bothersome to me. To end on a positive, though, LT really is a nice spot and we intend to keep out membership as, for now at least, the positives far outweigh the negatives. I just plan to be a bit more careful with what I am taking to the gym. read more

This place is the worst. Portrays itself as high end but it is the Walmart supercenter of gyms. Juiceheads and others that don't have common decency to pick up wet towels or wipe down machines. Too many members to the point where is zero parking between 4 and 7, yet they keep waltzing unsuspecting new people in. Bring back Prairie Life at double the cost and I will be back there in a flash. The customer service is horrible. Employees and staff just standing around. Locker rooms sized did a gym a quarter the size.. It is a joke. read more

I give this review as a non member only reviewing the cafe. I have been trying to eat better since it is a new year. I am on a smoothie kick and found this place on yelp. I called them up and they were very nice and said you are welcome to come in and use the cafe as a non member. So went in for lunch was greeted at the door and shown to the cafe everyone in there was super nice. I ordered the organic fruit milk with whey and well it is good as u can expect from a protein shake...the whole taste is new to me lol But, the food menu looked good as well the pesto turkey burger jumped out at me will have to give it a try. Nice little place to sit and read a book at lunch...sadly I am too poor to ever join this place so will just hang in the cafe lobby. It really is an amazing looking gym. read more

This place is amazing. It has EVERYTHING you could possibly want, including a cafe that serves freshly made and tasty food. Most of the complaints are in relation to trying to cancel membership, but I have the opposite experience. My family was traveling extensively and not using the gym, so we "paused" our membership. They did it right on the spot. For $10 a month, you can hold your membership until you can use it again. Once we were ready, we reactivated it with no issues. The cost is in line with any high end gym membership, and actually less than what we paid in Florida (and we get so much more!). I did try the salon for a mani-pedi and a haircut. It was fine; I'm sure if you developed a relationship with the stylist, it would be better, but it was a one time deal for me. The fact that it's open 24 hours is a major plus, since we don't have a normal 9-5 schedule. In addition, every single employee has been very nice, and the staff keeps everything pristine and clean. Keep in mind: kids cannot be on the weight floor until age 13, and they do try to keep them out of the hot tub under 12, but they are not strict about it. I've never had an issue with unruly kids, as most parents are right there with them, and ensure they are well behaved. Lastly, the wi-fi is really good, so if you're there for a kid's team event or something and need to work, you can. read more

Yes!! Finally!! I've been searching for a gym all over Memphis with a full weight room (squat racks, free weights, bumpers etc) and this is awesome! Most places don't have that much lifting equipment and focus all on cardio but here they have it all! And the people are no small mention! All kinds of fitness is happening from small groups, classes, high school kids, amateur body builders, fitness enthusiasts to regular gym goers alike. It's really cool to have that inspiration around you while you work out. And yes there are plenty of people who are just starting their fitness journey. Everyone is welcoming and respectful of each other. No need to be intimidated! Also, not a lot of people standing around. Everyone is pushing themselves and working their butts off. I love Lifetime Fitness not only because there is enough machines that you never have to wait to use one, but because of the cleanliness, friendly staff, and workout classes! I love the Yoga classes! I used to be a member of this gym. I joined because it was big and a lot of my friends went there. I enjoyed all the equipment and the yoga classes. I went every week. And the teacher was great always changed up the class! And was very helpful when she saw that you needed help or struggling. The steam room was very invigorating after a long work out! In the summer the pool was wonderful. It is was clean. However, I am no longer a member.. I have a daughter and would put her in the child care and every time I came to pick her up she was crying. She was 7-8 at the time. And every time I asked the employee what happened they never knew. They also, didn't do background checks on employees!!! An don't mind saying they hired a sexual offender! Sham on you life time!!! They have tried to call to get me to come back. I will not because I will not have my child harmed in any way. They can tell me all they want about how they have changed. But it will not change my mind! When you have a place of this greatness the employees should be the same. And a background check as well!!! Oh to add to it... When I would go and speed with someone about what was going in with my child they NEVER took care of it!! read more

This outfit is like most of the high end, show clubs. Fairly expensive and very crowded during peak hours. I tried it for lap swimming and twice had my workout routines interrupted so that the lifeguard could qualify another swimmer. Both times, I had politely waited for a lane to become available but the staff would not provide me the same courtesy. If you are a 'specialized' athlete I would look elsewhere. They do have several nice hot tubs available for use, but they clean them in the middle of peak times instead of afterwards, so one is usually not available. I gave them a try for 8 months, but incorporate swimming into my fitness routine and the lap pools are usually taken for water aerobics or children's lessons. If swimming or high fees are are a consideration, I would not recommend Lifetime. Spa fees were not competitive either. read more

I absolutely hate when she is working it makes me feel so negative! She eats in front of the kids and also sprays cleaners! Today I was told hat because their class teachers didn't show up my child couldn't come because they were already over there limit and were under staffed! They never schedule the right amount of people! And an infant can only stay 1 hour 15 min instead of 2 hours like others! read more

This is an exercise facility that has taken EVERYTHING wrong with the fitness industry and made it right - every time there is a path where something can go wrong it doesn't it goes right! A month to month with no contract and when you join they find out what you are interested in and then send helpful applicable emails and guess what!!! REAL LIVE people who truly seem to care about you call you to make sure that everything is the way you want it - extraordinary! A business that truly walks the walk when it comes to customer service and satisfaction. The Yoga classes have changed my life in ways that I didn't even realize were possible - not going to share that here but rest assured this 51 year old crazed recent empty nester had no idea that a peaceful mind and toned body were even possible in my world - well done ladies (I am talking to my yoga teachers here!) I love this facility as well as each and every person who works there - it doesn't get better than this! I call it Club Med Memphis! This gym is an oasis and has something for everyone. We were members in another state and transferred here it is set up exactly the same. Cafe has friendly manager Tabby with friendly employees and healthy smoothies coffee and lunch options. The kids menu is even healthy including baked chicken strips and organic milk as well as wraps and sandwiches freshly made. The atmosphere is nice with granite and travertine touches and recently they have installed nice new carpet as well as expanded the PT area and the kids club. Plenty of tv and machines upstairs too. Child care is fantastic with energetic employees who care about your child and engage with the kids. New kids offerings include gymnastics and toddler tumbling so your kids are active and learning while you work out. My favorite experience here is Group Fitness each instructor is cheerful and motivating and will give you options in class for every fitness level. The pool area is terrific in the summer and lifeguard are plentiful for safety. Great splash area for little ones and a nice lap pool for adults. Towels are provided and the locker rooms are clean and well equipped with Kleenex soap etc. Spa is upscale without being snobby I've had everything from color to facials and always a good experience. Kim is especially helpful at front and Sarah for hair does a great job. It's a community of healthy folks and a great place to get your workout on as well as much much more. read more

I have been a member since the gym opened and it is steadily declining. The equipment is not kept in the best working order and some of the staff are too busy socializing with other staff members than taking care of the members. Before I would have recommended this gym now I am only going for ONE trainer and once I lose my weight I am finding another gym. read more
