Our services are built on the evidence-based practice of Permanent Supportive Housing, a nationally recognized model that is a proven and cost-effective solution to the housing needs of persons with serious mental illness (SMI). This intervention combines permanent, safe, and affordable housing with voluntary and flexible support services to help people with SMI live more stable, productive lives in the community. Within this model, we use a Housing First approach which eliminates preconditions and barriers such as requiring medication compliance or proving "housing readiness" in order to create more equitable access to supportive housing.

Because I love the Yelp community, and because I care about your mental health, I am going to bite the bullet and get the word out about Dr. Victoria Cook. Let's face it, there are times in our lives when we really want to strangle the life out of someone, or burn down our office building, or perhaps just never leave the dark comfy world under the covers of our bed. I've been there. It's no fun. Talking to someone else - anyone else - about the world inside your head can be a very scary experience, and talking to a complete stranger about the worrisome bits of your life is a definitive no...just, no. Trusting someone else enough to be able to discuss your sad places is not an easy thing, and finding the right person is very important. Dr. Cook was exactly the right person for me. She is kind, she listens without interrupting, and I never feel judged. She is a fabulous resource for outside services, and she is encouraging without being forceful. Dr. Cook accepts some insurance plans, and she has evening appointment available. Mental health is no joke. Whether you have chronic depression or situational angst, a supportive therapist can be a valuable asset, and can make a tremendous impact as you navigate life's difficult path. Taking care of yourself means more than eating right and keeping your body fit...it also means loving yourself enough to talk about your problems. Getting refills is far more painful than it should be. 72 hours to respond then if something…read morehappens a it might be another 72 hours. Then then weekend hits and makes it worse. Cant refill early so frequently off the meds I need. Toss in limited availability of the drug it might be more days or I might now have to call around for a pharmacy that had it and submit another request to change the pharmacy and start the 72 hour wait again.
