Getting refills is far more painful than it should be. 72 hours to respond then if something happens a it might be another 72 hours. Then then weekend hits and makes it worse. Cant refill early so frequently off the meds I need. Toss in limited availability of the drug it might be more days or I might now have to call around for a pharmacy that had it and submit another request to change the pharmacy and start the 72 hour wait again. Things went down the moment they became Life Stance and they are all about the money. The new nurse practitioner took me off my meds that I had been doing really well on. To me that makes no sense, why stop a regimen when it's working, they make you feel like you are an experiment to mess with and try different meds along with new meds. I wasn't offered different meds to cover the meds she took me off of. Who does that? I know what's going to happen, I will regress back into depression/mania Time to find a new provider. read more

Truly a horrific experience with a nurse practitioner here. I went to the eagle creek location. I came here in a time of crisis and was put on a cocktail of drugs along with the one I was already taking and I developed serotonin syndrome because of the unqualified nurse. I went back with a forgiving attitude, people make mistakes, however I know now that I should have stayed away. The nurse took me off all medications and prescribed a new ADHD medication (my current was working great and I was there for anxiety/depression) she prescribed me 3 times the amount that you are legally allowed to prescribe per dose. Consequently, I developed serotonin syndrome yet again and never went back. Please, do yourself a favor and go see an actual doctor psychiatrist for medication. read more

I was a patient here. During a time of crisis, I called to ask which hospital I could go to for suicide ideation (the suicide hotline put me on hold. Ha!). The phone call with BBH lasted 5 minutes tops. Whelp, they billed me nearly $100 for 15-45 minutes of psychotherapy. They sure didn't mention anything about this on the phone, or I would have hung up. Additionally, unless they have licensed clinicians answering their phones (they don't), I didn't even speak to anyone who can provide psychotherapy. I'm earnestly curious if this is legal. read more

Also when I tried to get a refill, I received a $25 bill in the mail. I never even heard of being charged to get a refill. I didn't get a call saying that there would be a charge. So it was a shock to get a bill in the mail. Last week I tried to get them to send over tests. I was there at place for them to fax over a release form. They said they couldn't do it because it needed to be motorized. This place just gives you the run sound and it makes it very difficult to get your tests/ records. read more

I cannot speak to Lauren Wilson's patient care and overall professionalism. What I can say, is that the methods they use for telehealth visits are extremely confusing, the receptionist was terse and borderline rude, and I ended up missing out on an appointment I had been, (I'll admit) rather desperately waiting for, for a month. My appointment was supposed to be at 9:45am, July 1 (roughly the time of writing this). At 8:15 on the day of the appointment I received an automated text stating I would be emailed instructions on how to join the video call. This is not new to me, nor is it probably new to any of you. I had done this, successfully, with my primary care and other health care providers multiple times. So I waited, patiently by my phone for email instructions, which did not come. After 15minutes of waiting I called the office (per the texts instructions), and I was told the following "No you were supposed to be logged into your patient portal." (Me) "I'm confused: I was sent a text this morning stating I would receive an email with directions on how to join the video call." "No you set that up june 3rd and you were supposed to be in the portal already. Would you like to reschedule?" "Why would I get an automated text stating I would receive email directions if that was not the case?" "I'm sorry, you'll have to reschedule." "My appointment was scheduled for 9:45 and it isn't even 10am, can I just connect with her now?" "No you'll have to reschedule." ".....I have been waiting for this for 5 weeks to deal with depression meds." "I'm sorry, her next availability is July 27th." "...........No thank you." You be the judge. For someone in the process of addressing their mental health this is....is disastrous too dramatic of a word? I wasn't even offered an apology. The rigidity and inflexibility I just experienced over the phone was....terrible. I wish I had looked at more reviews before I scheduled. Go somewhere else. read more

I go to the location near Eagle Creek Rd. It's a really comforting place to go to! The therapist I have is understanding and helps the conversations lighten up and feel less terrifying. The only issues we've ever had were getting refills and medications changed. It's taken a week before to get a medication changed, so I do think they should work on that, but overall - it's a fantastic place to attend! read more

I saw Jared Lemon for evaluation of my medications. He never made eye contact (I think he was shopping online) and asked me one question as an assessment. He tried me on medications without discussing side effects or expectations and didn't discuss my history or my other medications. He's useless and dangerous. read more

Previously I had referred my family & friends to this facility and bragged about how great they were. I had gone there for several years since being 18-19yrs old. I really was pleased with my provider E. Templeman. I was willing to put up with frustrations of the facility as a whole in order to continue seeing her. However, it seems that ever since they have changed to new owners and the new management and billing systems- I have experienced a lot of issues. I have been double charged for multiple different things and made reports to the customer service/ombudsman dept. and have had a lot of difficulties with communication with staff. Such as: On one occasion earlier this year I called approximately 2 days before my scheduled appointment and stated that due to a work responsibility I needed to reschedule my appointment. The lady said ok and put me in a time slot for a couple days later. I specifically asked if she also canceled the original appointment after making me a new one and she confirmed that she had... I go to my appointment and they tell me I need to pay a $70 no-show fee for missing my original appointment. I said "no, I was not a no-show... I actually called a couple days in advance to reschedule and that's why I'm here today". It's just stuff like that has happened more than once and finally I started to be more careful about confirming things so I wouldn't get stuck paying unnecessary $70 just bc I was too busy to remember whether or not I actually did what they are telling me I did or didn't do. And another pretty irritating issue is that I have been trying for a little over a year to get my records from them (which would be my first and only copy) so I can establish care with a new provider. I made the initial request as instructed by their staff. A couple months later I was provided with only a tiny portion of my requested record. Since then I have been trying to rectify this and have been given the complete run around; for the past 9 months I have called the records dept multiple times explaining this and requesting the record as indicated on my initial records request forms and even showed up in person with NO LUCK. From what I understand, they were bought by another company from out of state. I no longer would recommend to anyone I know, which is very unfortunate. I know the local staff may not ~all~ be responsible for the problems there and because I'm obviously not privy to their staff meetings and upper management info I don't fully know how things have transpired but I do know from a paying customer perspective... this place and the quality of service has gone very much down hill. My husband was a patient at Beaumont. When he was depressed and not sleeping, the NP told him that his sleep issues were not part of her practice. I had to readmit him to the Ridge when he became suicidal again, exacerbated by sleep deprivation. Now that we are seeing a reputable psychiatrist, he confirmed to us that the need for sleep is Psychiatry 101. I could never, in good conscience, recommend this place. read more

The Frankfort office will hold you and your health hostage until they get their money. I've been a patient there for over a year. I live off SSDI for major depressive disorder. I've tried different meds with a nurse practitioner. We found one that has been working great. Here's the problem- if I don't go in every month and pay my dues, she won't refill it. I have $10 to my name right now. I've been calling, Kroger has too, but BBH wants that co-pay money, or no way. I called BBH to ask for an appt with an APRN who was recommended by my Dr. Told she no longer saw patients. (btw) took 5-10 minutes just for them to answer my call. Was told that I could not ask for a specific counselor, even though I reviewed each of their vitae(s) on line - that I would have to be reviewed in person for "their" recommendation. Puzzled by this somewhat rude encounter, I went to Yelp for more information and glad I did. Many of the reviews are terrible, even with the understanding some are submitted by individuals with emotional problems. STILL, not acceptable behavior by supposed trained counselors. Secondly if you are late trying to find the needle in a haystacm and by even the smallest of margins, they will cancel your appointment and the doctor who was supposed to see you will spend the same amount of time arguing you about why they canceled. I would give 0 stars if possible. They don't keep their appointments at either location. Out of 6 appointments they either didn't show up or canceled for three! My time and health is extrememly valuable to me! If you can't depend on your provider to even show up how can you expect to receive proper care? I cannot in good conscience recommended this facility for any person seeking psych services for mental illness. The staff is incompetent (failed to check me in for my appointment) and when i waited for nearly an hour (after my therapist saw other patients before me), I was plenty upset. The front staff was defensive and acted like I was the problem. The haven't been trained to de-escalate a situation or sensitivity towards patients with anxiety or mental health problems. I've received better customer service and care at Amazon. No joke. They have no compassion or care. They are more concerned about defending themselves and correcting my behavior than making sure i received proper treatment. By the time i got home, i just wanted to give up. Terrible facility. I came here on a referral from the GP, who is great. Unfortunately, this place is nowhere near great. The therapists will argue with you, will leave you feel defensive and as if they don't believe you. They will ignore prior diagnosis. They will charge you for things without being upfront about the cost: they will bill your insurance even when you pay up front. And that's just the short of it all. When they diagnosed me, they didn't listen to what I said: they argued with me over a diagnosis from my childhood family doctor who'd known me from birth: the initial person I spoke with, who's job was to match me with a therapist and diagnose me, left entire chunks of my symptoms out of their file on me. My actual therapist wouldn't believe my childhood diagnosis and argued with me multiple times over it vs another diagnosis (ADHD vs Bipolar Disorder). They left me feeling defensive and guilty, when I specifically was trying to work with them on my guilt issues. When talking about some issues I have with my husband, I was told basically that I should just do what he wants and not do what he doesn't want, even if he doesn't tell me he doesn't want it. I was told they could not issue medication for my ADHD unless I underwent full psychological testing: I was NOT told, when I initially agreed, that the full psychological testing could cost up to $1500. I was told that, in order to be diagnosed with ADHD, I had to undergo drug testing. When I canceled the drug testing the day of, and asked them NOT to send anything out for testing, they sent it out anyway: I am now in the process of disputing a $1500 charge just for the drug testing. I will not be returning here. I suggest that you save yourself the stress and not come here at all. read more

Greedy business with mediocre "care" received at best. There are a lot of good practices around Lexington that provide better care and are not so obsessed with charging for every little thing. BBH would charge for the air in the office if they could. I called and cancelled an appointment and told the truth that I was seeking assistance elsewhere. They charged the maximum cancellation fee possible almost 3 months later. Wow. Gotta love being punished for standing up for yourself and leaving a practice with poor care. Or maybe that's just her embarrassed pride talking, guess it does suck to get dropped by a person you know you're not helping any (makes me worry about anyone else she's trying to "help"). Unfortunately, they get a lot of patients in by referral from primary care docs or the ER that cannot or don't want to wait a month or so to be seen by a highly rated, recommended doctor or counselor elsewhere. Some advice: if it is not emergent, go somewhere, anywhere else. If it is an emergency, go to the ER or still, go anywhere else! I have been in talk therapy on/off for 30+ years and BBH is honestly the worst I have ever encountered. read more

The providers at BBH are wonderful. I have gotten wonderful care there. I can't give 5 stars because of the office staff. They tend to make you feel like you're kind of a bother, they're super slow, and may or may not get the things done that you need, like prior authorizations.
