My review is specifically for Christy Leaver. Literally, ZERO stars in aiding with Co-parenting…read more My children and I have never been so disrespected in my entire life by a professional, until I met Christy Leaver. I have a child with severe special needs, might I add Christy Leaver supposedly has a "certificate in developmental disabilities"- he's nonverbal, and completely dependent from everything to washing his hands to feeding and toileting, and the top priority on Christy's list of issues to discuss was my ex-husband going on vacation.... My ex was neglecting and verbally abusing our son, yet Christy thought vacationing was the top priority to discuss before coparenting. Not to mention she completely supported my Ex-husbands baseless claims that our son needed a residential treatment plan. It's not easy to raise our precious child, but still no reason to pass him off on to strangers to do it instead. I ended up having to take full timeshare and custody to make the nightmare of dealing with Christy end. And our son is doing EXPONENTIALLY better since he has been solely living with me. However, I was expecting her to advocate on behalf of my son. Christy Leaver said she always has the children's best interest as her top priority, yet she literally said, "what's in the best interest of [my son] is not in the best interest of everyone," referring to my ex husband going on vacation. Christy Leaver interviewed our two neurotypical children for an hour, but stated that she didn't even need to meet our differently abled son. Her disrespect was disgusting. My personal recommendation is not to go to Christy Leaver if you have coparenting issues, and absolutely do not seek Christy Leaver's "help" if you have a child with differences. Such a waste of my time and money. *** I completely forgot to mention that Christy Leaver is not only judgmental towards individuals receiving child support, but disrespectful too. She condescendingly informed me that MY permanently dependent special needs son will be 18 years old soon. And of course, Christy Leaver had to go on with her judgmental and arrogant tangent to inform me that child support will end at that age also (because as another reviewer previously stated, Christy Leaver truly believes she is not only the judge, but the jury too). When I tried to explain that our son is permanently disabled and will remain a dependent beyond 18 years old, Christy Leaver had the audacity to ask me sarcastically, rhetorically, and condescendingly if I ever plan to be independent and take care of myself... How in the WORLD could a "parent coordinator," not understand what child support is? Child support does NOT cover the expenses of the other parent. It solely serves to support the shared child. There are many more examples of Christy Leaver's unprofessional behavior, but it's been nearly 2 years since I had to meet her, and to this day, our brief interactions still make me sickened to recount. I have no idea where she received her credentials, but they NEED to be revoked. ZERO STARS

I would like others to know how this business ripped off my spouse and me. Specifically we are…read more complaining about Christy Leaver. Ms. Leaver was not up front about the services she does and does not provide for couples. Her website bio seems to state that she does marriage counseling: "She offers counseling services for children, adolescents, couples, and families throughout the Central Kentucky region." http://www.bluegrassfamilytherapy.com/ChristyLeaverLCSW.en.html The first time my spouse and I contacted this business for marriage counseling reasons, we asked for Valerie Areaux, who someone had recommended. We left a message asking if she could provide marriage counseling for us. Instead, we got a call back from Christy Leaver, another therapist in this office. Ms. Leaver knew from our voicemail that we wanted a marriage counselor. She said she did marriage counseling. We went to one appointment and for 30-40 minutes poured out all our reasons for wanting counseling. She seemed to listen. Then she stated that the ONLY kind of counseling she does is these things she calls "couples' encounters" which are basically day-long retreats. We were charged around $150 for what we had hoped would be the first of many marriage counseling sessions. Instead, it turned out to be a $150 combination of us laying out our marriage woes, and her trying to sell us a service we weren't looking for. This occurred in early 2015. We found that we didn't have the energy to put into complaining about this borderline fraudulent business tactic. Once a marriage has gotten to the breaking point and the couple is frantic for professional help, that couple typically doesn't have a lot of energy left over to devote to relatively minor rip-off schemes. With time, we recalled this bait-and-switch episode. We feel others should be warned about Ms. Leaver's tactics. If you're in the market for a "couple's encounter," she is the person to go to. If you want long-term therapy, don't fall for the trick of paying for a whole session of what you think will be therapy. If Ms. Leaver had simply told us on the phone that she only does short-term, maximum three sessions "couples encounters," we would not feel deceived and ripped off.

I've been seeing Charles Collins for Emotional Polarity Therapy for the past couple of months now…read moreafter a recommendation from Patricia at Robert's Health Foods. At first, I was unsure about what I'd signed myself up for since I'd never heard of the modality before. I've had traditional talk therapy before, but this is something different altogether. Charles uses the EPT to help pinpoint emotional holdings in the body to alleviate physical and emotional ailments. We all have issues in our tissues, and I'm glad to say that I've worked through a couple of emotional traumas that I held onto for way too long. Collins Counseling and Consulting is located inside of Robert's Health Foods. He works by appointment only. I recommend working with Charles if you want to move past physical or emotional ailments. If you feel unwell and can't figure out the cause of your trouble, this guy can help you out. facebook.com/collinscounselingconsulting
