The outdoor space and location are inviting and truly beautiful -- plenty of seating and a great atmosphere for relaxing or picnicking. Unfortunately, the tasting itself was disappointing. The pours were the smallest I've ever received, and it didn't feel worth the cost. One of the wines in my wife's flight, the Chardonnay, was just downright bad to us. You can bring your own food here, and there was also a food truck on-site, which is convenient. It was crowded during our visit, and while the property is lovely, the wine experience didn't match the setting. This is a place we won't be returning to.

It was super busy inside for a Wednesday afternoon (given it was that awkward week between Christmas and New Years that no one knows what is going on during LOL) and since we had the pup, we decided to sit outside. The view was GORGEOUS outside, and during golden hour/sunset, it was a beautiful way to end the year. If this is your first visit, I definitely recommend trying different wines with their tasting menu - I like dry reds so I opted for the Paint the Town Red - fruit forward dry reds. They also have many other tasting menu options and a long wine menu to choose from. Can't wait for my next North Georgia trip to stop in for more red vino!

(Dinner can also be ordered for an additional fee but again, king sized portions and so delicious! ) The Inn is located in Chatsworth, close to Fort Mountain and the cute town of Ellijay is on the other side of the mountain. The smell of fresh laundry is exactly what you want when you turn down the sheets at a new place-- so clean and cozy. I wasn't sure about our private bathroom being across the hall, but it was honestly great. Bathroom was very large & somehow also cozy [I think it was the warm heat coming out of the floorboard vents each time I stepped out of the shower lol]. Breakfast each morning was a 10/10! Bill is a boss in the kitchen. The homemade granola and lavender peach 2nd course were our two favorite things! If you plan to take it easy at the b&b one evening, go grab takeout brisket from Trinity in Dalton or truffle shiitake pizza from Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza and bring it back up the mountain. One of the best nights we had was eating pizza and playing giant Uno in the common room. [the giant Uno is in the basket to the left of the common room's fireplace!] Be sure to take a left when leaving the b&b so that you can see the INSANE views!! The road down the mountain to the left is SO beautiful! Things to Consider: -A more size inclusive option for the robe. My husband looked so cozy in his robe and I was disappointed that the size large was a bit too small for me. Having a few plus size robes on hand might be something to consider. Having a spot in the room's notebook that mentions larger robes are available upon request would help curvier guests feel that much more welcome & included :) -A way to text or send a message to Bill or Nicole when we have a quick question :) Thanks so much for having us Bill & Nicole! We had the lobster risotto and the pistachio-crusted halibut, and both were excellent. The service, though, really took away from the experience. We had noted that it was our anniversary when making the reservation, so we were a little surprised that it was never acknowledged during the evening. We weren't expecting anything complimentary or special, but even a simple "Happy Anniversary" would have been a nice touch. Our server unfortunately had a noticeable attitude throughout the meal. He was short with us and at times gave the impression that he was bothered that we were there. I don't want to mention him by name because maybe he was simply having a bad evening, but the attitude was incredibly difficult to ignore and it affected the experience. To be fair, everyone else we interacted with was very kind and pleasant, so this seemed isolated to our experience with our server. For a restaurant with such a beautiful property and food at this level, we expected the service to match. We weren't expecting anything extravagant, but for an anniversary dinner, we expected to feel welcomed and taken care of. Unfortunately, we didn't get that. That being said, I would still recommend visiting. The property is absolutely stunning and the food was excellent, so I don't want our experience with one server to take away from what is otherwise a beautiful restaurant. I just felt it was worth mentioning because the service unfortunately made what should have been a really special anniversary dinner feel underwhelming.

I chose this venue for my wedding due to its character and charm. Very unique and has so much more…read morepotential then what is provided. While the venue itself was amazing, the communication and professionalism left me questioning my decision. It took several days and at least one phone call and 2 emails to receive a tour date. The friend of the owner is the one who schedules and curates the wedding tours. She was very informative and knowledgeable about the venue. She and the owner were both accommodating when I requested a special place for our ceremony. Sounded wonderful and inviting! I told the friend of the owner that night several hours after the tour that I would like to move forward with a contract and date. That week, I did not receive any responses from my texts, emails, and phone calls. I asked my mom to try and contact her that following Saturday one week after the tour. She answered and apologized stating that she had been traveling for work (she relayed to us that she works a full time job and she is just helping her friend out on the weekends to schedule tours). She then sent me an email in response stating to give her one week to get the contract over to me. The week has past and I still yet have had any communication or received the contract. With such a lack of communication or decency for a paying customer, I would not feel comfortable to have my wedding at this location. The amount of stress a wedding comes with is unprecedented and this whole experience with this venue has left me extremely upset and disheartened. Until there is a reliable employee/and or management team in place, I would not recommend the hassle.
