Before making the trek over here, my friends and I looked online to see if there were whistles to be had any where near where we were. We weren't having much luck until this popped up. We made our way over here and into the store. Trying to figure out where whistles would be in a sporting goods store is not fun. Every single sport they represent could be a possibility of that location. We wondered up and down aisles in hopes that they might be with the soccer gear, no luck. Basketball gear? Nope. Hidden in the back corner of the store? Why of course... We see the whistles, grab our twenty and head to the register. The guy ringing us up must of thought why are we buying so many. Then when the total came up, something wasn't adding up. Even with simple math it wasn't correct. Then we noticed that the amount per whistle is not what was listed on the many pegs we just cleared back there. We let the guy know that each peg we pulled from was a price less than what was in the system. He got on his walkie and had a back and forth with another employee who persisted that the price it is ringing up is the price. We protested, as we (four of us) all told him the price is not as marked on the peg. They were hoping that we wouldn't care much, but one of my friends went to the back corner to meet the associate and point out where we grabbed the whistles from. Once she did that, they honored the priced from the numerous pegs. Crazy situation, but when you buy twenty of something, the price difference definitely stands out.

Now, I'm sad GameStop and August 32 are gone, but some things have taken their place like a new juice bar and a new chicken spot. Speaking of, the mall feeling dated is still very much a thing. I've heard about a bunch of other new things coming, but there was a grand opening and that dated background just kind of clashed in my opinion. I can't help but wonder what their plans are.

Upon first impressions this place looks massive and impressive. It is not your traditional mall in the sense that the anchor stores aren't what you expect. Here you have a grocery store and big box anchoring the plaza. Giant is on the one end while you have Target on the other. The rest of the stores within are a mix of national brands and local stores. I say that this place reminds me of the stores/malls in the Zohan movie. The names of the stores is what brings this to mind. It does have it's high points here, i.e., they have a movie theater, ample parking, and plenty of stores. However, they do have their low points too. Several stores have closed since I was here last. Z Burger and TJMaxx are noticeably missing. They do still seem to keep pulling in and opening up newer stores. Not sure how they are capable of doing that, but they are. It is a great place for a distraction.

District Sports:…read more I really have enjoyed playing soccer with District sports. I am realizing how much I miss playing soccer in the District Sports leage now in this Covid era where sports are off the table for a bit! Pros: Cost: Only about $80 for a season- not too bad, and probably breaks down to about $10 a game or less. Locations: The fields are pretty conveniently located, not too far to get to. Team captains have a say in what fields are played on, as well as the schedules of the games, and they take into account where players on the teams live. General game conditions: The fields were in good condition. Games were held on both grass and turf fields, and referees for the games seemed competent and always showed up on time. Diversity: There are lots of folks of all different ages and skill levels in this league. The league is coed. The average age is probably 28ish, if I had to guess. There are definitely more men than women in this league. Social element: There is a social element to this league. After wins, many teams go out for drinks or food. Friendships are definitely built in this league. Cons: This con is more of a pro, in some ways. Because the league is coed, but male dominated, there's a rule that asks that at least three female players be on the field at all times, for each team playing. If there are not enough girls, a team has to forfeit the win, regardless of the score. Because of this, sometimes, as a girl, when teams playing games either before or after your scheduled game are short on female players, they will ask you to play for them in their games. If you want to get some extra play in, it is very easy to play for other teams who need female players to have to not forfeit games. You also will get a lot of playing time as a girl in general, because of the way league rules are structured, and because of the general shortage of girl players.

You may want to check out what District Sports has to offer. It's one of the better run amateur adult co-ed soccer leagues. It's a great league to break into the sport. All skills levels are welcomed. There's no "side tackling" and the field is shorter, so you're likely to survive. Soccer is only the beginning. They offer indoor soccer, futsol, frisbee, 7 on 7 soccer, indoor kickball, and basketball. There's plenty to do year round with this league and the fees are very reasonable. If you can sign up with a team, or just walking a meet some new people. Everyone is incredibly friendly, great adult recreational league. And, yes, they do like to party too. Just fyi, if you're very a competitive soccer player, this isn't the league for you.

They didn't give me nasty looks like some stores do when you return things. Instead, they went to the back and brought all the 14's they had. Score!!!! I was able to exchange in the store and not reorder my preferred shoe. The two people present were a sales clerk, not sure if he was a manager but he very may well have been since it took him two seconds to hear what I needed and ran to the back. As I waited the cashier and I chatted away. She was very very very pleasant. I have been here several times but never reviewed them. The first time I came in the cashier was pregnant. She was so cute. That time was equally pleasant.

I've been to this store before, but usually I'm browsing, and quickly go in and out. Last night, I went for the specific purpose of buying a pair of sneakers that I'd wanted for a while. I'm specifically leaving this five star review for their sales associate Mario. He was amazing. His customer service skills are bar none. For example, even though this store didn't have my size in the particular shoe I wanted, he proactively asked me if I wanted to try on the style I liked in men's or kid's sizes to see if that was an option. Unfortunately, neither fit me, so he found a store close by that had the exact shoe I wanted in my size. It was still refreshing to experience someone who likes assisting customers. Even though I didn't buy shoes yesterday, I will be back for sure, solely because of that experience. Thanks!
