Finally, I visited the German based supermarket that is spreading in NYC starting with this location. We came here in the evening, and lots of meat and baked items on sale were sold out. Lots of hits and misses. I downloaded the app to get more discounts. Setup is reminiscent of Aldi.

Lidl Supermarket 2407-2475 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY 11040 (888)654-3515 Thank you Dana. What a gorgeous soul inside and out. Always cheerful and helpful. Great personality and what a sweetheart. I made sure to tell her manager how amazing she is on my way out as he was arranging the pumpkin in the entrance. Love this market. I came here for my favorite smoked sausage links. But of course got more times as usual. I'm already here and their prices are great. Delicious apples, pears, salami, mixed meats, pork chops, 3 type of cheeses, red onions and fresh spinach. Yes I'm thinking about lunch for tomorrow and snacks.

A new market just opened up in my neighborhood. Ever eager to check out a new market while it has the "new car smell", the kids and I head into Lidl... Ambience: we were a bit underwhelmed. most of the goods are displayed within boxes on shelves? The deli meats are pre sliced and packaged. Almost a third of the store is dedicated to selling seasonal non food items. Selection: the selection of items seems much more limited than other markets. TL/DR: this feels like a dollar store, but the prices are not any cheaper than other markets...

New Lidl location now open in New Hyde Park. Luckily it wasn't packed when I was there the 2nd weekend after it opened. Lots of items similar to the other locations and some different ones as well. Always nice to see what each of the locations have. Convenient to have another location open as well. Prices are comparable - some items less than the other locations and some may be slightly higher. Easy to shop here when in the area than having to travel to the other locations. Ample parking as it's a shared lot across all the other stores in the area. Checkout was quick as the line wasn't too long..surprisingly. Remember your Lidl card or sign up for one for additional savings. If you forgot to bring a reusable shopping bag, they sell them at check out too.

Okay, word to the wise, be very careful as you shop the store. Many items do not match the signs posted. Today was very confusing. The potatoes signed as $3.98 per lb came up as $6.98 per lb. My wife noticed the discrepancy when reviewing the receipt. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPT WHEN SHOPPING HERE. The manager took care of our return promptly but did not seem concerned about the signing issue. I guess proper signing is not a company policy.

Great low prices on brand names.

This location is disgusting, the produce section was a complete mess. Water puddles everywhere.

Low quality produce, only good for cheap packaged groceries. No bags. Long checkout lines, scream bottom of the barrel

First site driving up to this location, I saw the well crafted and color coded logo and I took notice of the words "Market Place" in the brand name. After walking in I was mesmerized by the site of what was in the entrance. Like a kid in a candy shop I began to stammer out of excitement. I stood in front of the pastry and cakes area and the person behind the bar, spoke and kindly asked if I needed anything. I stated that I was just looking, he responded by saying, if you need anything, just let me know, I'll get it for you. Awesome custom service!!! He scored big . This is a MARKET PLACE, they have a plethora of stuff. Bread's of all sorts, snacks, cakes, flowers. They have a coffee bar. A hot food bar, a salad bar, smoothie bar, and a dining area to relax and enjoy. I actually walked through the entire store because I could not believe my eyes. I will give an A for their merchandiser. Although most people aren't aware of product merchandising, I am a merchandiser and I saw little room for improvement, one might say the merchandising efforts were not miniscule. The entire store was magnificent . My attention went to the smoothie bar, the lady behind the counter was more than helpful, engaging, and maintained eye contact when conversing. The name of the drink is Fresh Green (FG), the drink was obviously fresh as they have tons of fresh produce in the area. Kale, lemon, celery, and apple is noticable and gave a distinction taste. I am enthusiastic about my next visit.

My stuff came to a bit over $16 and I asked for the discount and the kid says, oh, you have to spend $20! WTL...??? No other store has this little asterisk, (not to mention this place also has the highest prices in the area) not even the Key Food on Central Avenue. I do realize they are different owners, but the umbrella name is Key Food, so maybe a little bit of continuity would be nice? I told the manager, whose bigger manager was there and he said, yeah, they had a meeting and this was what they decided. Ok then, now I've made a decision and it's to never shop this store again. My mother may love the cole slaw, but she'll learn to live without it. 5% isn't going to break me, but you know what? Every penny counts, especially for seniors.

I'll start with the recycling center because I buy 3 cases, 40 pack of Poland Springs water and the $2 deposit on every case can be contributed on shopping. The best times to go to the recycling center is early in the morning. It gets really crowded after 12. The person that monitors the recycling machines is a gentle soul, very respectful and kind, even on difficult days. Dealing with people who chose to recycle can be annoying, especially when they bring tons of really big bags filled with cans and both glass and plastic bottles. Shopping is always a pleasure and the people here are cordial towards each other. I purchased a chickpea salad that contained chickpeas, olives, green and red peppers, and red onions tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. It was really tasty. The guys at the deli are stellar, going above and beyond to deliver quality service to there customers. Cashing out was different, the young lady was engaging, polite and friendly.. I'll continue to come here to do recycling when that time comes. It's pleasant here and the parking lot is huge. Inspire more, Yelp more!

Plus after every 6 drinks, the 7th one is free which makes it even better!
