On 9/21 I came to Stop & Shop because I have been wanting buffalo style wings for two days. I…read morelooked all over SS and this is what I found, a small bag (pictured). If I went to BJ's I can get a bigger bag. So here's my comparison - Stop & Shop: $11.99 for 22 oz ~$0.545 per ounce - BJ's: $21.99 for 64 oz ~$0.343 per ounce, that's a 36% savings at BJ's. While Stop & Shop is banking on impulse buys and smaller package margins my delayed gratification and bulk economics of BJ's win out, which makes me a winner. I refuse to purchase from Stop and Shop that day but they may have a better bargain another day. I'm so grateful that I took a course in economics it helps with smart decisions making and impulse purchases.

I've been coming here since I was 12 years old, and the vibe hasn't changed: friendly staff, familiar faces, and carts that might just be as seasoned as the team pushing them The produce section is fresh and well-stocked, and for my fellow plant-based shoppers, there's a solid selection of vegan options--from plant-based meats to dairy-free treats. They've even upgraded with two EV charging stations, perfect for my tree-hugging electric vehicle friends. Whether you're grabbing tissues, apples, or just a little human connection, Stop & Shop on Franklin Ave delivers. It's the kind of place where you don't just shop--you belong. First site driving up to this location, I saw the well crafted and color coded logo and I took notice of the words "Market Place" in the brand name. After walking in I was mesmerized by the site of what was in the entrance. Like a kid in a candy shop I began to stammer out of excitement. I stood in front of the pastry and cakes area and the person behind the bar, spoke and kindly asked if I needed anything. I stated that I was just looking, he responded by saying, if you need anything, just let me know, I'll get it for you. Awesome custom service!!! He scored big . This is a MARKET PLACE, they have a plethora of stuff. Bread's of all sorts, snacks, cakes, flowers. They have a coffee bar. A hot food bar, a salad bar, smoothie bar, and a dining area to relax and enjoy. I actually walked through the entire store because I could not believe my eyes. I will give an A for their merchandiser. Although most people aren't aware of product merchandising, I am a merchandiser and I saw little room for improvement, one might say the merchandising efforts were not miniscule. The entire store was magnificent . My attention went to the smoothie bar, the lady behind the counter was more than helpful, engaging, and maintained eye contact when conversing. The name of the drink is Fresh Green (FG), the drink was obviously fresh as they have tons of fresh produce in the area. Kale, lemon, celery, and apple is noticable and gave a distinction taste. I am enthusiastic about my next visit.

The store wasn't as packed as I imagined, but everyone's carts were full as I'm on line for one silly little onion. I only was in the produce section in the front of the store, but everything was clean and smelled so fresh. The girl at the cash register was very friendly as well.

This is a very old fashioned Italian-American style old NY style of grocery store. They have…read moreproducts and produce here that you won't find anywhere else, except an Italian specialty market. I can always count on them for beautiful broccoli-rabe and escarole. I come here for my hard to find Italian groceries like decaf espresso powder, Anna pasta and Brioshci (I actually get the Galeffi). And of course a box of Torone. In the back is a great little meat market where I get some of the best pork chops and my Bell & Evan's chicken. They also have great sausages, pinwheel steaks and really nice burgers and ground meat. All perfect to add to my Sunday sauce with a nice hunk of braciole or throw on the grill. I was here recently and I was hoping that the deli & bakery would be open, but not yet. I'm hoping they open soon. I miss having a nice loaf of semolina bread and getting my fresh stuffed shells. Prices are good, but you have to pick out your fruits and veggies. Now, if you cook, you should know how to do this. It's why you get such great buys. If you just want to buy it and it's all perfect, go pay 3x the price elsewhere. The fruit section is good. They do have a few seasonal items, like Cardone, or Zucchini blossoms. But the best part is and you can get almost everything here year round. If you're an Italian American who wants their foods, this is the place.

I have reviewed what others wrote about this place and all I have to say is: OMG!!! People,…read morereally?!?!?!! LOL Its not that serious!!! LOL One person was complaining that it took them 10 minutes to buy soda one day because the staff is so slow and no sense of urgency, etc.. LOL Holy crap dude, reality is that there is no sense of urgency when buying soda anywhere. Save that complaint for first responders to an emergency, etc. This is the new Millennial generation of self-entitled, and need for immediate gratification persons. Nowhere else other than NY would that fly! Ok, well the bottom line people is that this store is clean, they have plenty of registers of which most are usually staffed and operational as well as several self-checkouts which work fantastic! The shelves are stocked, they have everything you would need from a supermarket and lots of extra items that would be considered "specialty". The deli people are really nice and efficient. The line moves as quick as it can so don't be discouraged if it appears to be long. They will get to you quicker than you think. The prices are comparable to other stores and there is plenty of parking in a private lot or in the street in front. As for all the people complaining about expired milk on the shelves - I have never experienced that in my 10 years shopping here. However, I offer this advise - Check the date on the carton before you buy the milk!! If its expired, grab another one! If there are no others, don't buy the milk. Easy :-) In regards to the comments about rude staff, etc, I can only say that in my 10 years shopping here and probably all the other markets I've used in my lifetime, I have never needed to deal with the staff. Just go in the store, grab a cart, take what you need off the shelf, check-out at the register and be gone. LOL Its not hard.. Supermarket shopping is self-serve! LOL Great neighborhood market!

My stuff came to a bit over $16 and I asked for the discount and the kid says, oh, you have to spend $20! WTL...??? No other store has this little asterisk, (not to mention this place also has the highest prices in the area) not even the Key Food on Central Avenue. I do realize they are different owners, but the umbrella name is Key Food, so maybe a little bit of continuity would be nice? I told the manager, whose bigger manager was there and he said, yeah, they had a meeting and this was what they decided. Ok then, now I've made a decision and it's to never shop this store again. My mother may love the cole slaw, but she'll learn to live without it. 5% isn't going to break me, but you know what? Every penny counts, especially for seniors.

I'm so surprised that I haven't given my review on this STOP & SHOP, I've been here countless times…read morefor recycling and shopping. I wish I could say that service is the same at every location. I'll start with the recycling center because I buy 3 cases, 40 pack of Poland Springs water and the $2 deposit on every case can be contributed on shopping. The best times to go to the recycling center is early in the morning. It gets really crowded after 12. The person that monitors the recycling machines is a gentle soul, very respectful and kind, even on difficult days. Dealing with people who chose to recycle can be annoying, especially when they bring tons of really big bags filled with cans and both glass and plastic bottles. Shopping is always a pleasure and the people here are cordial towards each other. I purchased a chickpea salad that contained chickpeas, olives, green and red peppers, and red onions tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. It was really tasty. The guys at the deli are stellar, going above and beyond to deliver quality service to there customers. Cashing out was different, the young lady was engaging, polite and friendly.. I'll continue to come here to do recycling when that time comes. It's pleasant here and the parking lot is huge. Inspire more, Yelp more!

When I went to get bananas, there was an employee on one side of me stocking them and then an old lady approached my other side, pretty much blocking me in. I said "excuse me" to the employee because all he had to do was take two steps over and I could have gotten through. Instead he moves his hand in a "shoo" motion and tells me to go towards the lady old who is blocking me in with her cart, resulting in me bumping into her a few times and profusely apologizing as someone was behind her and blocking her in as well. I'm used to the guys in the produce section being much nicer than what I experienced today.
