A friend and I turned-up here expecting to be spoilt for choice with an awe-inspiring array of curtain fabrics. Finding Lidl in the place of the previously long-established fabric store took us completely by surprise We decided to go-in, hoping to track-down some info on the previous incumbents, and (in spite of the fact it was a curtain-free zone) we were impressed by the size, cleanliness and shopper-friendly layout of the store.
Used to a considerably less spacious branch - closer to home - as soon as I walked-in here, I felt as if I had been transported across the Channel - there was an intangibly different (pleasant) smell that hit my nostrils - instantly making me feel as if I was shopping in the heart of the Euro-zone. True to their no-nonsense, fuss-free ethos the quality of the produce and decent prices were apparent, although the displays typically basic rather than tantalising. It was surprising though, how agreeable it was to wander around, easy to locate different sections and products. read more
