Jean S.

Disappointed in LIDL. They don't honor prices on their shelf tags. I purchased LIDL 30 gallon trash bags. Shelf tag said 30 gallon bags were $4.99 and they rang up $6.79 - so watch carefully when your purchases are being rung up! The other issue I noticed in LIDL was the stench coming out of their refrigerated meat section. I intended to purchase Premio sausages and, upon opening the refrigerated meat case, I was met with horrific smell of decaying meat. Naturally, I didn't buy any meat nor will I ever shop there for meat! i do NOT recommend LIDl and won't be shopping there again!

Lots of mouse droppings.

I always see heaps of mouse droppings in the corner by the nuts. Avoid the nut sections or any section that's not in refrigeration or in the freezer (rodents and other pests can't survive in that temperature). I saw someone literally swept a good pile of poop (shovel sized) from there. I never seen atrocities like this in any other food related establishments. I also heard that an employee got in trouble and penalized for staying later to clean it up. They also overcharge dollar store items as well (like bar hot dogs which is 1.25 at dollar tree) which I don't recommend buying. Do your research before buying! Some products are a good deal (if it wasn't infested with mice). Management is nasty and they treat their customers as numbers rather than individuals. Just avoid the non-perishables and do your research on the product that is in refrigeration (such as bar hot dogs that are dollar tree items) and go for the items in refrigeration and freezer section, you won't see any mice there! You can save a lot of money if you don't mind your perishables infested with mice. You can always disinfect the packaging as well. Was going to give this a two star but I got opinions from other managers from food establishments and they all thought I was being generous by giving them a two star.

They may not have all the products or name brands that you were used to. But what they do have is is very reasonable prices.

However, this review is not to sing their praises. It's to confirm what past reviews were saying and that a substantial portion of the prepackaged and precooked food they sell is actually expired. And that they will have employees switch the "Use By:" dates on expired items. Recently, after opening a fettucine alfredo that was supposed to be good for 4 more days, the smell was almost unbearable. Ive had blatant expiration issues with eggplant parmigiana and rollatini, chicken cutlets, chicken parmigiana, chicken meatballs, spaghetti and meatballs, breaded salmon, and my personal favorite "pasta alla vodka" (don't ask me what kind of pasta... its thick flat wavy noodles that shouldn't be fed to animals let alone humans in my opinion) chicken pizzaiola and many other products have also had blatant sauce separation with a watery glaze displaying potential expiration just from a first glance, foul odors and if you dare to consume something questionable... it may seem like it was not the worst thing. But, am finding out it can obviously be detrimental to one's health. They were not always this bad. Like I've said, I too have shopped there and enjoyed many of their precooked meals. But years ago, the quality suddenly dropped and I refuse to go near this place any longer and grocery shop elsewhere now. When I noticed some of these items in an ill relatives fridge and have heard other complaints just by word of mouth... I decided to search for any similar experiences and have found I am nowhere near alone on having this experience with the same item category. I'm hoping they change practices or they should no longer be selling these products unless they're made fresh to order.

They are all pretty much the same. I have been a fan of Stop & Shop for a while now. This shop is big, I mean really big yet I always find a parking spot in their big shared lot. It's an easy in and out for of Fort Salonga Rd. This is a very busy store and the parking lot is large enough to support it. You enter from either end into a huge store. What I like about Stop & Shop is that it is laid out really well and where there needs to be space there is space, and the Isles are big enough to maneuver through with a big crowd here. There is plenty of space around the meet, dairy and a very spacious vegetable area. They also have a marvelous bakery here. It's really a one stop shopping spot. Great deli area and plenty of great prepared foods. This place pretty much has it all. There is a pharmacy and wonderful florist. I am not going to go aisle by aisle and let you know what they have. It should suffice that they have a huge selection of foods and there is always great sales going on with the food being displayed on the end caps throughout the store. THe isles are large enough for you to maneuver easily. I definitely recommend this market for your needs along with the other Stop & Shops. KUDOs to the team here.
