I genuinely cannot put into words how disgusted and horrified I am. This cake was meant to be served to a group of adults and young children at my three-year-old's birthday celebration. Finding a cockroach inside a sealed bakery box that came directly from a grocery store is beyond unacceptable. To make matters worse, we discovered it approximately 10 minutes before the party was supposed to start. Instead of getting ready to celebrate my daughter, we had to scramble to Wegmans and purchase an entirely new birthday cake at the last minute. It added unnecessary stress, expense, and chaos to what should have been a happy and memorable moment for our family. A birthday cake is something you should be able to pick up, bring home, and serve to your family without having to inspect it for insects. Instead, what should have been a special part of my daughter's birthday turned into something absolutely revolting. This raises extremely serious concerns for me about cleanliness, food handling, storage, pest control, and overall sanitation within this bakery and store. After this experience, I cannot imagine purchasing another bakery item--or frankly, another food item--from this location. I have clear photos documenting exactly what we found, and I will absolutely be contacting ShopRite management about this. A grocery store bakery is entrusted with preparing food that families consume, including cakes served at children's birthday parties. There is simply no excuse for something like this. I strongly recommend that anyone purchasing food from this location inspect it very carefully before serving it to their family. Having to abandon my daughter's birthday cake and race to another grocery store for a replacement 10 minutes before her third birthday party began is an experience I will not forget. Completely unacceptable, completely disgusting, and an awful way to begin my daughter's 3rd birthday celebration.

I've been coming to this store for over 20 years, it's set up really great and it's super convenient. It is actually a mini supermarket with a really cool Deli counter. I think the deli counter here is better than those at most large supermarkets. Boar's Heads as well as budget brands are available usually on a combo sale with cheese. You can also pick your own hero bread from the bin and they will custom make you a Jimnormous Hogie! And that's a Serious Sammie I'm really happy that they're open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. 7 days a week. If you're missing something special for your party or an ingredient for the cake, more than likely this Handy Pantry is got it for you. And the mornings the fresh Kaiser rolls come in. It's located right on Post Ave. with an easy in and out including plenty of parking. Please remember that this is not a "superstore" so the isles are smaller and narrower. They also have a good selection (including some hard to get items) of fruits and vegetables. The deli counter is smaller than you're used to in a Stop and Shop or King Kullen but they seem to have a full selection of items here. On top of being well stocked and clean there management has been very helpful to my Kiwanis club by letting us hold a regular food drive here.
