This is probably the busiest restaurant in the food hall, but the line moves fast, even on a Saturday for lunch. It is famous for their fish soup. Everyone has to try the tomato based broth with fish fillet pieces, small shrimp and mussels. If you have the baked salmon, it's only for the dill mustard sauce. The portion isn't massive, but the small help-yourself buffet bar for salad and bread makes up for it.

Hammarstrom's makes the most amazing herring on the planet. * * * Hammarstrom's is a herring and other good stuff store in Sodermalm. They have cheeses and bread and fish you can cook and other cooked fish delicacies. But they have made their justly deserved reputation on their herring. This is better than anything you can get at a restaurant or anything you could cook yourself in your Airbnb. Early in your stay, if you are in a place with a refrigerator, go to Hammarstrom's and buy a series of little packages of various flavors of herring. They sell fresh dill and dark bread to go on the side. If you want something else on the side, say fresh spinach or knackebrod (crispy flatbreads), there are two big supermarkets just around the corner Take this back to your apartment or room and make this your breakfasts and midnight snacks. Your days will start perfectly and end perfectly.
