Though, I always tend to buy rice wine (I can't find rice wine--xiaxing wine--anywhere else), miso, and specific noodles here. In terms of vegetables, if you're willing to look around, check Oriental Supermarket beforehand. Veggie prices are often about the same, but sometimes one store seems to have a fresher stock. A lot of the products are sort of dusty, so I usually check the expiration/package date on sauces just to make sure. So far, I haven't come across anything that's out of date.

I understand that this was not the supermarket's bad, but the manufacturer's bad. Either way, we weren't going to eat a bag of rice that had bugs in it and as a customer, it was the supermarket's issue with their supplier. So, I brought the rice back to return it and had to *argue with the staff* for them to believe me. They insisted that it was just string, so I asked them how could string be sticky or have this texture?! Anyway, they very adamantly let me exchange it and warned me that I couldn't just buy their product, eat it, then return it because I didn't like it. It was kind of ridiculous and rude. We didn't eat the rice because it was bad, and why would I waste my day carrying a 10lb bag of rice to return it if it was good? I went back again recently to stock up on my usual foods. The lady asked if I wanted a bag and I said yes. She warned me that they started charging 1kr for bags since about a month ago, but this time she wouldn't charge me because I didn't know. I said thank you and went home only to see on the receipt that she charged me anyway. I know it was only 1kr, but it was dishonest. So, it looks like they've hired some slightly rude and possibly dishonest people there now. Unfortunate, really. Albeit the service, I still come here to get my tofu, noodles, and condiments.

Jamie W. and I passed by this one in a taxicab on our way to our hotel, which in my Rick Steves-hypnotized mind, meant we were walking back here to take our obligatory tourist photos. Now if you have been to a few dozen of these markets across Europe like I have, this is likely not the one that will top your list as there was a certain lack of vitality to the whole area. I'm guessing locals know better than to buy produce at the higher-than-norm prices offered here despite the constant caterwauling of the stall vendors. Located on a random square just off an outdoor shopping mall -- it's not a formal mall just a main drag with lots of shops. On Sunday it's a mixed bag but mostly it's a #globaljunking paradise. Lots & lots of glassware. My theme for this outing was mostly spoons and a Sunny Boy Harmonica made in Germany. I didn't do a lot of negotiating -- the prices seemed fair. English was spoken well enough to close the deals. I arrived at around 10am; a late start in the junking world. I didn't spend too long there but I was surprised that vendors were still arriving to set up their stands. Not sure of this means everyone got a late start or if there are deals to be had at all hours of the day. I'd hit this market again if I'm ever back in Sweden.

One sandwich was on a fresh made baguette while the other was sliced from a loaf. Both were packed full of fresh veg, homemade dressing and cheese. Take a look at the photos for the details. It makes me crazy that I can't get this back home. Is it really that hard? We ate in the nearby park and tossed a few crumbs off to the birds to get a better look at them. What are those things anyway? If you're in a hurry and want something simple, be sure to consider these guys.

The owner really put in a lot of effort into this pig theme. Everywhere we saw we were reminded that this was the pig deli. The level of details in the way the restaurant is set up is unbelievable. They even had a pig shaped crispbread specially made to go with the salmon. We both had the sausage with three tapas. We also had a pie to share. Everything was excellent. I had the best salami I have ever had. There was only one waiter in the room, and his service was fantastic. If I come back to Stockholm sometime, this would be the first place I hit up.

We ordered a side of salami and Swedish cheese and the hairy pig board. I enjoyed the side, but the board not so much. The board consisted of wild boar sausage with broche bun, wild boar taco, peppercorn fries, and wild boar lasagna. The board was quite heavy and salty. I didn't have enough stomach space to even try the taco. I did enjoy the fries, but it's not enough for me to want to return.
