We've had 5 or 6 regular visits here (cleaning and exam)…read more I had a horrible dentist experience as a kid and it made me afraid of dentists my whole life. I wanted to make sure the same didn't happen to my kid. At Westchester, they're so patient, understanding, and gentle. The first 1 or 2 times they tried the electric tooth brush/polisher but my kiddo really couldn't handle it so they switched to a regular toothbrush. They assured me he'd get used to it as he came to more visits. And he has. We just had our best visit yet. Kiddo let the hygienist do everything! He got a little freaked out by the suctiontool but she let him hold it and ease into it and he was fine. The waiting room has toys and books and I've never struggled to get an appointment at a convenient time. All their rooms are clean and bright. Great views from the 7th floor windows. Parking is easy in the lot that's inside the building, but not free (you pay $2/30 mins so it's not awful). EDIT: 6 months later and we still love Westchester Pediatric!

With a kid on the spectrum-I can't tell you how important that js. I was told by a number of pediatric dentists they wouldn't treat my son unless he was sedated-and since he has enlarged tonsils-he's not medically cleared for in office sedation (so you can see our conundrum here). Thankfully we were not turned away from Dr Deepa who allowed us to help during his procedure to hold my son's arms while she was able to perform some miracles. No other dentist would help us-but she did. Otherwise he would've been in pain waiting for a surgery center spot (which costs over $5k). You'd think our son was done with dentists offices from here on out-but he is now comfortable with Dr Deepa and doesn't even need help getting into his chairs for examinations. On some level he knows she's helped him get out of his pain. I'm thankful for the staff's ability to help handle these 'out of the box' situations and is why there is only one place for us.

Our daughter Jordan did great and was very cooperative during her visit. Our son Judah, on the other hand, was a bit of a handful and really did not want to be checked at all. He even ended up biting Dr. Jen's finger--but she handled the situation with so much patience, understanding, and grace. Judah didn't want anyone looking in his mouth, let alone cleaning his teeth, but Dr. Jen went above and beyond to make both kids feel safe and comfortable. The entire team was amazing and made sure the kids had plenty of distractions, from their favorite cartoons to fun, dental-themed toys. Our kids were so happy by the end of the visit, and they were even sent home with lots of goodies. We highly recommend The Baby Tooth Studio to any parents with little children. Dr Luong came by multiple times to see how things were going and was so encouraging to my son. Kenzi was not only thorough, she carefully explained things to both my son and I so we understood what was happening. She's so calm and patient. She made sure my son checked to see if everything felt right before we left and actually listened to his feedback, removing some extra wire from the top. Although the office was quite busy, we were greeted by name upon walking in the door. It is easy to see how much positivity and effort each person puts in to their work here. I then told her that was fine and that next time they need to send that dismissal letter if thats what they had decided... I now received a letter from them after 2 months and didnt bother to open because if thats their dismissal letter , they shouldn't have wasted their time. If your child has medical and they want to charge a last min cancelation fee please KNOW THEY CANNOT DO THAT . I couldve paid that fee without a problem but the response from the receptionist let me know instantly how they really run their practice . UNPROFESSIONAL AND A RUDE WAY TO DISMISS A CHILD FROM THEIR PRACTICE.

The care that was received was great. I remain an advocate. I do think regardless not any environment remain an advocate as a child does not know what to expect and always speak up. With that being said I made sure the dentist and dental assistants knew if there was any pain or discomfort my child experienced. This may have agitated the dentist but I don't care lol. In addition, the front office team was generally decent. The overall experience I would give an 8 or 8.5.
