Needed a specific arrangement for my Father's funeral and since the shop was right next to the funeral home we figured we would utilize their services. My Dad was a Mets fan and we wanted to honor him with a few arrangements, one specifically highlighting his love of the Mets. The one I found in the book they no longer offered so we settled for another Mets related arrangement. While the lettering was a little wonky, maybe more than a little, we were delighted with the arrangement. While more expensive, they honored the cost of the one we liked better in the book. I ordered two funeral arrangements and there were problems with both. The peace lily I personally picked out in the store was not the one that was delivered. I went into the shop as soon as I arrived at the wake and was told the one I picked out was more expensive than the one I paid for. I never questioned the price when choosing the piece. The other piece was the casket pillow that was to have a ribbon. The ribbon was not on the piece. I recommended this place to many people over the years. I will not recommend to anyone else. I will tell people to avoid going there. read more

While I can't speak for the price, I can tell you about the beautiful arrangement that was just delivered to my office. Came as a surprise from my special someone, but the first thing I noticed was now nice the bouquet was. As the delivery guy approached closer, I can faintly smell the flowers. After the delivery guy left, I ooohed and ahhh and had a huge smile on my face. The flowers were lightly spritzed with water so it looked really nice when I received them. The vase and flowers were still "chilled" (it could be because this Florist is close to me physically or the weather outside) but it definitely looked and felt fresh. None of the flowers were sagging. Some still not bloomed yet, so I'm excited for those. The stems were all sturdy. The arrangement itself is beautiful, with different colors and flowers scattered perfectly. Stems were cut at the right angle as well. No flower food was given, but that's ok, I have some left over from other flowers. read more

Tried this for the first time as my favorite flower shop was not open on Sundays, but the delivery person made a mistake (he was lost despite address was written correctly) and ruined the surprise. Flowers were meh and could be better given the price. The good thing would be the short turnaround time (ordered one-day before delivery). Probably my only time ordering from here. read more

Because I'm a procrastinator, I ordered my flowers two weeks before the wedding. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to find a florist that could work on such short notice, and if I was able to find someone, that they'd charge me an arm and a leg to get the job done. Neither of these things happened at LIC Florist. When I walked in, Becky greeted me and I said, "um, so, my wedding is in two weeks and I need flowers...can you guys work with that time frame?" Becky looked at me, almost like I was asking if the sky was blue, and said, "um, yeah, no problem." Great! We spoke a little bit about what I wanted (various shades of orange), and she took it from there. To be honest, I don't know much about flowers and centerpieces and whatnot, so I let her kind of tell me what to do (she suggested that I incorporate some other fall colors, etc), but when I had suggestions or ideas, she was able to work with what I wanted without an issue. Prices were very reasonable, service was friendly, delivery was made early, and most importantly, the flowers were GORGEOUS! I absolutely loved them, and I'm normally sort of indifferent to decorative flowery stuff. I got so many compliments on both the bouquet and the centerpieces, and the people who got to take the centerpieces home were acting like they won the freakin' lottery. You should buy flowers here. (I will post a couple photos when I get the pictures back from the photographer, but I wanted to get this review up now because I was so happy with everything about LIC Florist :) read more

Liked them better when they were on the corner of Ditmars as Metropolitan Flowers. The quality of the service is not the same. The sister who was usually at that store has a better way with people. I will not buy flowers if she is there. Very Disappointed and the pickings are very slim in Astoria. read more

On a particularly cold night and with the objective of cheering myself up, I walked into this flower shop and saw the gorgeous sunflowers. The owner, Jeannie assisted me, showed genuine interest in providing excellent service and even threw in some free fillers. I went to pick up a bouquet of Gerbera Daisies the other day and Genie was super helpful. I went in in a little bit of a rush and within 5 minutes I was back out the door with an arrangement that I would have guessed someone called in to order, totally awesome.
