On the day of my appointment, John was able to knock out my mom's taxes in an hour or less. She is very friendly, personable and informative. I've also used her in the past, and so have my parents. We are always very happy with the service we get from Kathy at H&R Block. I used Turbo Tax last year, but wasn't confident that I did everything correctly. Kathy offered to check last year's return for free. It is easy and convenient to make an appointment online. During busy tax season I needed an evening appointment and was able to get in within a week. Getting our taxes done at HR Block was more expensive than TurboTax. I've used them at least 3 times, and it is usually in the $250 range to file both my state and federal returns combined. But it is totally worth the peace of mind that no stone will be left unturned.

This may have been the most unprofessional firm I have ever dealt with. Last year, I provided all…read moreof my tax documents by the beginning of March and was assured that the taxes would be filed and the documents returned to me in a timely manner. As I do not have difficult taxes, I thought nothing of it until I had to deal with filing an extension with the IRS while on vacation multiple timezones away. Still, once I was finally able to pick up my documents last year, I spoke with 2 receptionists who gave me a recommendation to a different lawyer of the firm. This January, I called and made an appointment with the second lawyer. I received a call later, one of the office staff advising me that there was a scheduling mix up and would I come in for an appointment an hour earlier? I agreed and showed up at the new time, at which point I was informed that I had been scheduled with the old lawyer instead-the one who caused a delay last year. I spoke with the office manager to express my frustrations (to her credit, none of this was her fault) and the situation from last year and was told that my options were to do a drop off (which I had made the appointment to avoid), to have an appointment with the lawyer I was moving on from, or " I was welcome to go with another firm." Ultimately, I chose to do the drop off, as it's already late in the season for another firm. Just as I was getting home, however, I received a call that, due to my dissatisfaction, it was decided that I should go to a different firm and my documents were available to pick up. Yep, because I had a negative experience at this firm last year, another one this year and expressed it, I have been fired as a client. As I left, I mentioned my intention to relate this experience in a review- exact response? "I'm sure we can take it." I'm sure they can. I'm also sure prospective clients should know that the consequences of this firm's unprofessionalism will fall squarely on the customer.
