We bought a pair of clippers from petco but were afraid that we would hurt him in the grooming process. We talked it over and then decided that this was a job for a professional as we were very scared of trimming his nails. We called prtco and they informed us that they could not groom cats at that location. They then referred us to bark avenue. We called right away and they were able to trim his nails with no appointment so we brought him down. Our cat was super shaken up by the car ride when we got there. The groomer came right out with a friendly smile and a pair of clippers. She pulled out the clippers and gently clipped all of our cats nails within about a minute. Our kitty was a bit shaken up but seemed to do just fine with the whole experience. The service we revived was fast and friendly. It was very affordable. $6,5 is not a bad price to pay to ensure that your little baby kitten is not hurt during the process of getting his nails trimmed. The place was very clean and organized. There were some very friendly looking pets there that looked like they were about to be groomed. All of the dogs that we saw seemed ok with being there too. We will defiantly be back. They did a great job.

People bought us gift certificates because I talked about how I was so delighted with the whole thing. Since the ownership changed over, we had a terrible experience when one of the employees snapped at my daughter -- who loved to come and help wash our dog -- for something the employee herself did. I did not go back for a long time because of that experience, and when I decided to give them another try, it was another terrible experience. Asked for a dog nail trim, and the employee wanted me to sit on the floor in the lobby and hold my full-size, soaking wet, uncooperative dog still so she could clip her nails. Clipped some too short, dog was bleeding. Didn't clip some nails at all. Charged double what it was previously. I did a large portion of the work. Was the single most chaotic dog nail trim I have ever experienced in my life, and I used to work for the Humane Society. I want them to do well as a business because I think it is a good concept and a good location and I would love to be able to utilize the business. Other people have had positive experiences, or so it looks like. Our experience since the new owners took over has been one of prickly unwelcomeness. But maybe what I think is rude is actually normal among the young people who work there, and I just don't understand.

This is so sad to me as the real victims here are the dogs. I have nothing to gain from having had a dog who was hurt or seeing an individual that I do not know lose their business. It is encouraging there are recent good reviews and I pray no more dogs are injured. I posted a negative review with pictures about my experience here on FB as well as other locations including Yelp!. If you read my review, you will see we had tried to speak with her in-person before posting...thinking it could have been an employee. Anyway, long story short, we were met with unprofessional behavior...I have also seen similar reviews in other places. This has led to almost a year long cycle of this business owner leaving me "compliments" on Yelp! as a method to reach me directly and make belligerent statements. Until recently, that's all they were. Was just sent one today threatening to find where I work and hassle me. I had to finally consider my children's safety in this all and decided it best to file a police report and I am considering a harassment order if the law enforcement warning does not stop it escalating further. In my opinion this just goes to show the validity of my concerns and still concerns me there was and never has been any concern shown or mentioned for our sweet shihtzu. I will not be bullied into removing an honest review and account of our experience.

This review is for Tiffany. Amy does mobile grooming, Tiffany is for drop off. My mother was…read morerecently moved a memory care facility and I live in California. It is hard to find a groomer with availablity with less than a month's notice. Purr-fectly Superior grooming was available with the drop off option. When I pulled up to the house, I was already skeptical. The paint was chipping all over, a window was broken in the front and the steps to the house did not look safe, but I did not want to judge based on that. Tiffany seemed nice enough and said it would be about 2 hours and I would get a call when there was about 30 minutes left, it was 2:00. The dog is a Cavalier King Charles, so if you know the breed, you know that they are not trimmed all over, so they are less work than other breeds. His hygiene areas, feet and ears were all that were being trimmed. When it was after 3:30 and there was no call, I started getting anxious. The dog is relaxed and was not being fully trimmed so 2 hours was already a long time. I texted and asked if he was doing okay at 3:38. No response. I texted and asked if he would be done soon at 4:15. No response. At 4:25, I called and got no answer so I texted that we were coming there and would wait and still got no response. Later, we were told she doesn't check her phone during grooming, but when you are that late with someone's pet, you should check or call them with an update. My husband and I got to the house and knocked several times. Finally a man answered the door and said that she was giving him a bath and he would be done in 30 to 35 minutes (5:00). Dogs are generally brushed then bathed at the beginning of appointment, so this also concerned me. It seemed like she just started to groom him after I started texting. At that point, I texted Amy, the owner of the business. She volunteered to stop by and check on the dog since she had to drop something off. When she got there, the thing she was dropping off appeared to be a blow dryer. My guess is either Tiffany's was broken or that they share one. Either way, it explains why he was being bathed so late. By now it is 4:45, and Amy told us the dog would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes, which would still be 5:00. At 5:13 I texted Amy that we were still waiting. We had already told her that we had a 5:30 appointment. By now, there was no way that we could make it. At 5:20, Tiffany finally came out. The dog was still wet and I asked about bathing at the end. She said that she and Amy always did it that way and that they don't wash hair they are going to cut off. I knew that Amy did not bathe at the end because she groomed him one time in my mother's house while I watched. I was told the grooming was $150 with Amy's mobile grooming it had been around $100. I have never heard of mobile being cheaper than drop off. I texted Amy and she said she could not say because she did not know what Tiffany did. At the time of the service, there were no prices on her website so I could not see if they had gone up. Tiffany claimed she had to charge the rates Amy set and that they had been raised several times. I went to write a check and was told they do not take checks. This is also not stated on the website. I do not use Venmo, but tried to set it up. It said that I could not use the card. Meanwhile, Tiffany went back inside and left us outside with the dog. We could have easily left, especially after the terrible service and price gouging. Being honest, we waited. In the end, no one could figure out how to get the credit card to work, so my husband and I managed to scrape together the $150, but that was all of our cash. I gave Tiffany the money and told her we used all of our cash to get the $150, so it was exactly that. I also pointed out that in Superior $150 for a drop off like that (a home, not even a business) was a ridiculous price and I would make sure to give them a negative review. Tiffany's response was," do what ya gotta do, with my hundreds of good reviews it won't do nothin'." She then told me she hoped the rest of my trip sucked, called me a b-word and slammed the door. This was at 6:00. I let Amy know about this and she did apologize and made an offer of half off the next grooming with her. She told me a grooming is $85 and anal glands are $25 (drop off and mobile must be charged the same, which does not make sense), I can't imagine anything else was done. His nails were trimmed, but that is generally part of a grooming. On the way to drop the dog back off with my mother, I felt that the ends of his ears were stiff and crunchy. When I lifted them up to check, there was a huge chunk on one ear that was not trimmed. Leaving out the time trying to figure out how to pay, the grooming (that did not include the full body trim just ears, feet, and hygiene areas) took 3.5 hours and he came out wet, shampoo or contitioner still in his fur and his ears not properly trimmed, and I was called an b***h. Horrible experience!

I inquired if I could change the appointment time, and the owner texted to inform me how busy she is, and that my appointment was cancelled. I guess this was some sort of 'punishment' for asking a question? I would have been happy to keep the original appointment time, but I wasn't given that option. It was odd from the start; I called and left a voicemail asking to speak with the owner, just to check if she has a non-slip surface my dog can stand on during the grooming. She wouldn't speak with me on the phone, only text. She refused to even address the question I asked in the voicemail. Overall, this was a terrible experience. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I've never seen a professional business operate so poorly, and treat customers with such disrespect. Added after business owner's comment: I would never in my life do any of the behavior the owner mentioned. This is a complete lie. She was frustrated because I asked if it would be ok to change my appointment time, so she cancelled my appointment. It was very rude. I've only left one other review on Yelp for exceptional service with a different business. I only left the review for Julie's business because I was treated so poorly. Also, Julie had the person who originally recommended her contact me through Yelp, trying to convince me to change my review. Just wanted to mention that.
