Fabulous car buying experience. I dreaded going into a car dealership, but these folks won me over. Eric was upfront, knowledgeable and relaxed. He was very easy going, did not try to persuade us in any direction at all! Where to start... Went last week to check out a mustang and when I got there the sales guy wasn't there yet. So I was checking out the car while another sales guy showed it to me. He told me to start it up and said the 5.0 v8 would make me "wet". He also told me the car lowers itself at certain speeds, referred to a tune as a "chip" and said a bullitt is faster than a gt350 so he wasn't the most informative. The salesman i was supposed to talk with finally got there and we talked about the car very very briefly. That is because when I told him I had a trade in and that I was possibly looking at 2 other cars except for being a salesman and trying to actually sell me the car he told me I should go look at the other cars and wouldn't even give me a ballpark on what they would give me for my car etc because that would be a waste of time. If he would've ran numbers he would've probably made a sale since I did fall in love with the car but I dont want to give my money to a place that calls that a salesman. Just recently moved from FL and I was looking for a place to bring my 2012 F350 diesel. My dad brings all his vehicles here and said they had some of the best mechanics he knew. If he couldn't figure it out they figure it out just by listening to it for 2 mins. I called about a week prior and spoke to Dave in service (10+ year) to set up the appointment with coincidentally also Dave the Diesel tech (12+ year). I brought my truck in 3 days before Christmas for them to look it over from front to back since it had made 3 trips to and from FL. Also we were hearing what we had thought was a suspension noise either shock(s) or bushing(s). They were finished in less than 1.5 hours and they came to speak to me. Let me know they could not find anything wrong in the suspension (good!) and they did fill my tires to reset the tire pressure light (the light had just come on the past day or so). They also kindly reset my oil change light since I had done it a few days prior. They did let me know they saw it was leaking/seeping coolant from somewhere (cleaned it off) and applied dye to my system. I was extremely grateful for this since I knew for sure since I had bought the truck 1.5y prior I would randomly smell coolant but we could never find a leak (even pressure tested). It was never hardly low on coolant either. They said to bring it back after the holidays so they can track down where the leak is coming from. I am so grateful for both Dave's and thankful that I have found a new shop I can trust my diesel with. Highly recommend. read more

My wife purchased a 2020 Chevy Equinox from Liberty last month. To date, she has driven less than 100 miles. Drove 2 miles on Sunday and engine overheated. Popped hood later and found coolant all over everything. Called dealership. They responded with the following: " You should get it fixed.", "Maybe you should get it towed.", and "Take it to a Chevy dealer." Took it to my regular mechanic, because I haven't got time for amateur hour in car repair. Was told finance price over the phone after credit app and every piece of info they needed. So I agreed to come in. 3 hours in I was %100 sure I was leaving with new truck. Signed "promise notes" that I would do the deal if they get the price I want. Left w/o truck told me they'd have to finish tomorrow but I'd take a new truck home and leave trade in there. That didn't happen either. 2days later I got a call ghat they wanted $$ down and a co signed on a lease higher than purchase price guaranteed over the phone. Family has been in ford Union over 40 years, family friend Fred Schubert was highschool friend as well as salesman to my family for over 30 years at this location. Brought my taurus in too the service Advisor Rafael , told me he would take care of it calls me 2 days later while I'm at work "sir your car is fixed" leave work early and arrive to not only my car not pulled around the lights were still illuminated in the car and you can bet they still charged me 800 for the repair, proceeds to tell me " oh we'll look at it again my service tech said it was fixed" then recieve a call asking for another 2000 for repairs. Now mind you my family has been going here 30 years with no issues under Fred. I advise anyone to avoid business here, since the salesman has passed away we have had. I purchased my 2010 Ford Focus S from Liberty Ford Southwest in Parma Heights in early 2010. I have had it serviced here a number of times due to the convenient location, not far from West 130th Street. Parts and labor have nearly always been reasonable or much lower than competitors (e.g., Auto Repair Technology in Brook Park). This location now offers shuttle service and has a decent waiting room with a television, Wi-Fi, coffee, and lollipops. Hours of operation for service department could be longer, and waiting room could use a face lift compared to some other locations (e.g., Nick Mayer Lincoln-Mercury in Westlake). However, the service is great, and I have even come in and had small repairs done for free. Have recommended this location to friends and family members. read more

About 5 salesmen stared at me blankly before one, barely looking up from his computer, asked what I wanted. When I stated I wanted to see if I could trade in my vehicle. I was asked if I knew buying a new car would mean I'd have a higher car note. I was asked a series of equally condescending questions before I was told they only had ONE car for sale (So there are 4 other people all working to sell one car?). The sales person I worked with here was a racist. He excused himself after making bigoted comments towards black people during the test drive by saying "Sorry, I am a little bit racist". The same sales person was unfamiliar with the sales process and offered me things that they were unable to commit to. My trade in vehicle was in the shop while I was shopping around. They purchased my vehicle sight unseen, after I offered to return another time with it, and after called me to complain about it not having all of the OEM parts on it. The entire process was extremely uncomfortable. Unfortunately, they had the truck that I wanted with very low mileage. I wish Ford hadn't stopped making the Ranger so that I could have found one elsewhere with equally low mileage. Here it is 3/5/16 and I purchased my truck on 1/21. I still do not have a title memorandum. I am unable to transfer the title in to my name and my temp tags are about to expire. Do yourself a favor and do business elsewhere. Update #1 3/9/2016: A manager/director of their marketing department (corporate) contacted me about my reviews. He informed me that they have a zero tolerance policy for these things and that the sales person that I worked with was let go. He asked if there was anything else that they could do to help fix my poor experience. He followed up with the dealer to make sure I was going to get a copy of my title. They informed him that after I spoke with them on the 5th that it was mailed out. After, the sales manager from the Parma location called and asked if I felt that sensitivity training would, in my opinion, be sufficient... rather than firing the aforementioned sales person. I said this was fine... However, I am not so sure this should be a decision made by a customer. I feel like this is inappropriate to ask of me because on one side I am being asked to perpetuate this employees bad behavior and teach him that his actions are acceptable (is sensitivity training really going to change him?) and on the other side I am the sole decider as to whether or not this person has a job. I am not this employees manager and what does this say about your 'zero tolerance' policy? I asked the sales manager why I had not received my title on time and he sheepishly admitted that it was because he put a note on the title saying not to release it to me. He said his intention was to call and convince me to give them the OEM wheels that were not on the car when I traded it in. Unfortunately, he either forgot or misjudged how much time had gone by and therefore it was never mailed to me. Yesterday I received my memorandum title and got new plates for the truck. Literally told me "we don't build the cars, we just sell them" I'm pretty sure the technician that worked on our vehicle was sued at another dealership out of state for faulty work that resulted in a rollover crash that killed someone. This would be a ZERO STAR rating if it were possible. Took my friends F-150 to this dealership to have the oil changed and various points checked in mid-December prior to a road trip (600 miles roundtrip). Now it is the last week in January and they just had to have all the rotors, brakes and pads (front and back) replaced. After having this done, now the oil light is on. Hummm. . .the brake issue should have been mentioned in December and now we believe that the oil was not actually changed. We're am now calling Ford Motor Company this should never happen. read more

PURCHASE OF A NEW 2020 FORD ESCAPE- Texted photo of a vehicle on Liberty's online sales page to online sales woman, with price listed. I stated this is what we are looking for. Completed online credit app. Recieved text from online sales woman that I was approved for same vehicle in same colors as in photo I sent. I was provided a quoted monthly payment amount. Scheduled appointment. At appointment I was greeted by a young man who advised online sales girl not in office but assured us he had all our info. He pulled car up for us to test drive. First thing I noticed interior NOT the same color I wanted. After test drive I questioned this. I asked if vehicle AWD/4WD? Salesman said it was FWD. I told him I texted what vehicle I liked. He proceeded to tell me it was at another location. He offered to lower price a bit on test driven vehicle if we bought it today. I said I wanted AWD/4WD. He proceeded to tell me that I had just said the one test driven is nice. I was told monthly payment would be an additional $20 a month because payment quoted in text was for a FWD. He bantered back and forth with me and me telling him repeatedly how I have text messages of photo of car I wanted!!! The salesman kept putting blame on ME...he actually pulled up notes in computer to show me I did not say I wanted AWD/4WD. He then said he had a 4WD rental he could sell us, but it would not be ready till Monday evening. He tried to butter me up and say we could have the vehicle we test drove as a loaner for the weekend until 4WD model ready on Monday. By this time I was ready to walk out. I said I came here today to purchase and drive home a brand new vehicle that I was approved for. Why would I drive a loaner for 2 days and have to come back to dealership to actually get new car 2 days later. Put my foot down and said you mean to tell me with all the cars on this lot that there is not one I can buy today and drive home today?? I was then shown a couple and I picked one and bought it. Upset because I was approved and scheduled appointment and the car I wanted was at another location??? That car should have been ready and waiting for me to test drive as Liberty said in text. Instead Liberty tried to go behind my back and sell me a FWD rental!! Then tried to make me wait 2 days?? And the topper is the salesman kept implementing it was my fault!! Then 2 days after I had vehicle the salesman kept hounding me for 4 references and I told him I would text them.. First thing next day (8:30 AM) I texted references to him. Again he called that afternoon asking for references. Told him they were texted. How sad. I had Zplan and thought would be treated a bit better. I won't purchase from Liberty Ford again. read more

I bought a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee in September of 2017. It passed all inspection tests on paper however within 8 hours the check engine light came on and the transmission started to jump. I took it in to be fixed and was told they replaced a thermostat and cleared the check engine light but couldn't do anything about the transmission. I then drove it for exactly 7 days (tranny still skipping and knocking) before the check engine light came on yet again. Took it back and it is currently in the shop now, waiting to hear back. I'd like to add my salesman Bryon Wolf was extremely helpful and had nothing to do with the ordeal, he has done everything in his power to help. UPDATE: It turns out there is a $900 repair needed on the transmission and liberty ford will not cover the full cost (offered to pay for half), nor will the $2000 extended warranty they sold me. The sales manager has absolutely no empathy for my situation and has told me used cars just break sometimes. I explain to him that I only had the vehicle for 8 hours when I started having the issues and he said "No you've had it for 3 month's", AS IF I'M A LYING. I have actual paperwork showing I bought it 3 weeks ago and that the initial problem started the same day. The vehicle passed a inspection test that included leaks but according to them, the leaks started 8 hours after I drove it off the lot. So far, I've had the thermostat replaced, 2 engine mounts, and now a transmission cooler. I promise I will make sure EVERY SINGLE PERSON I know, knows how you dealt with this situation. I Will post this on every single review site, I will contact Carl Monday at Fox news, the BBB, Angies List, Yelp, Google, Facebook and will be driving around with a sign on my car that states LIBERTY FORD SOLD ME THIS LEMON unless somebody rectifies the situation. read more

The van had numerous problems that were not discussed . First , the Information and tps monitor was on . Ok , it's cold tire pressure lowers . But at least put air in the tires lol . Second the engine burned oil at 58k miles . He said I could be right or wrong . The oil was so dark I could have done a pour over coffee . Third . The ac and heater did not work properly . It did not circulate through the vents at all , just the top. The forth thing I found odd . The gas tank cover was on the driver seat ? And the seats stained lol. It was not a big stain , something you can remove easily . Seemed like they didn't take pride in their work . Also problem codes galore from the OBDII scanner . His response , these things don't come by every day . Do your home work . Have more passsionate people about cars . He seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else . Poor experience . We purchased a 2015 "Certified" Ford Fusion about a month ago and we have had nothing but issues with the service department. First of all there is no way the car was in certified condition when they allowed it to be driven off the lot. The interior was disgusting, the motor on the drivers seat makes a loud noise, the windshield was cracked and the tires had more than 50% wear with plugs. There were multiple messages left with Dave the service department manager with no return call. The only truly helpful individual was AJ in the sales department (and he wasn't even our sales person). Communication and follow through or even follow up is VERY poor. While they have fixed the issues once we have brought them to their attention, it has taken multiple visits and follow up by us in order for the issues to be fixed. Today we are back for the drivers seat motor and the tires after one of the plugs came out of it and we received a $700 quote from NTB to replace all of the "bald" tires and the one tire that is flat. Mind you, we still have temp tags on the 2015 vehicle. In summary, this dealership need vast improvement in their communication, follow up and attention to detail. Completely disappointed. read more

Stay far away from this dealership!!! We found a used 2016 yukon we liked and got in contact with Danielle in used sales. We were very honest with Danielle about our needs of a safe, reliable vehicle since we have three young children. We needed something large and we thought we had found the perfect vehicle, so we drove from Michigan to Parma Heights, OH to check it out. The vehicle was in great condition, car fax states no accidents, and we felt comfortable that we weren't being lied to. Well, unfortunately we went against our better judgement and bought the vehicle at the end of May. Here we are, not even 5 months later, and the vehicle has broke down multiple times. All of the warning lights on the dash will go off, gas pedal will go to the floor, and the vehicle will shut down. I reached out to Danielle, who forward my email to the manager, since she's not able to handle those situations. I broke down again, this time with my kids, so I emailed Danielle and finally received a response from the general manager Chris Yacobozzi. And basically since we didn't fork out more money for an extended warranty, they won't do anything, and it's solely our responsibility. Which, I understand we didn't purchase the extended warranty, but I would have never thought a 4 year old vehicle would be breaking down, multiple times, in less than 5 months of having it. I have been a customer of Liberty Ford for over 20 years but I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from this dealership again. I experienced nothing but Incompetency throughout the sales department this past month. From appraising the trade in as the wrong model and arguing with us, to holding out on paying off the trade in for 2 weeks (affecting my credit on the 2 vehicles traded in) I would NOT go back to this dealership to buy a vehicle. I was not treated with respect when I questioned why the trade ins hadn't been paid off and was told they were. It doesn't take 2 different banks 2 weeks each to process a check paying off a vehicle loan (remember we traded in 2 vehicles). When the sales person asks what he can do to make it right and a few suggestions were given (floor mats, discount on future service) the sales manager slammed his hand down and said no way. Salesman spent time with us reviewing the options on the car and how they worked. Took a test drive. We were happy with the internet price, did some paperwork and the car was ours within three hours from start to finish. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the dealerships Certified Preowned paperwork. Listed some options the car did not have. Missed some options the car did have. Well just got the response from Ford and the Attorney General basically stating 'You're SOL', sorry about your luck; hire an Attorney. Ford's response was, and I quote "According to our records, the vehicle has been repaired and returned to the owner. Based on this information, we will not be meeting the request for a vehicle replacement, at this time". Oh so, the fact that I had to bring the vehicle in at least 10 times to get several items fixed within a short period of time (1 item of which had to be fixed 3 times) and the vehicle still has issues, Ford considers the problem resolved??? Not only have we lost the money we put down and payments made ($14,000 to be exact) in the last 19 months, but when we go to sell it, we will loose even more money when the buyer pulls the carfax and sees how many times it has been in the shop. I'm am absolutely sickened by Ford and what they consider Customer Service and I will never even consider purchasing any vehicles made by them for as long as I live along with any of my friends and family. Based on the numbers, so far it has cost me around $737 per month to own this vehicle. I could have driven a Mercedes or Lexus for less than that and would have been treated like a Queen but instead I've been treated like a Pauper. So, in conclusion, instead of trying to make a customer happy out of me, which would have made me a very loyal customer, Liberty Ford decided to give me the middle finger and made me a very angry and unhappy customer who has lost a lot of money on a piece of crap. Remember, an angry customer tells a lot more people about their bad experience than a happy customer does. I have owned and leased many vehicles in my life and have never had even a quarter of the issues I have had with this vehicle in such a short period of time. But even when I have had issues with the other vehicles, they were resolved and never happened again. Apparently when Ford made my vehicle, the folks on the line were either on drugs or half a sleep because to have that many issues is ridiculous. But apparently that's normal considering they won't even consider replacing my messed up vehicle. I am planning on selling this piece of crap as soon as possible, if I can and getting something more reliable and safe, like a Mitsubishi or VW, they got it right in my experience. In fact my 11 year old Mitsubishi runs great and I still have many years left in her. AND I never had to take it in for anything other than normal wear and tear, huh imagine that! I guess I should have known what garbage Ford builds when I had my car in for repairs and they didn't have any rental cars available. Also, they only offer 36,000 miles or 3 year Warranty on their vehicles because they would loose money since their cars have to go in the shop more often. Mitsubishi offered me 100,000 mile or 10 years and I never once had to use it. I'm definitely sticking with what has worked for me. read more

When I moved here from out of state, I took my Ford to Liberty Ford for regular maintenance and was happy with their service department. When it was time to buy another vehicle, I stopped by the showroom to shop. I should have known better. I guess I shouldn't have set foot on the property until I was ready to buy and had done extensive research. Of course the salesman who latched on to me was determined not to let me leave until I had purchased a new vehicle. The price negotiation was all smoke and mirrors. The test drive was a joke - we went around the block and the salesman kept telling me to slow down. How can you test drive a vehicle at 25 mph? I blame myself - I should have walked out, but I guess I had a weak moment that day. I left there paying way too much for the car I purchased and it wasn't even the color I wanted. I recently brought a suv from liberty ford Parma Heights the salesman Adam talked me into going to his location instead of a closer liberty ford and said he would get the car I wanted and bring it to the parma location and give me a great deal .well ignoring the bad reviews I said yes it was a long day 4 hours with a lot of double talk said my car I was trading in wasn't worth anything even though in the worse condition kbb stated 1500.00 it was in good running condition low miles but interior was very rough and rust on exterior we settle for 700.00 and the new car price 15440.00 with the promise of a new pair of wipers thrown in well after I got home and looked over papers I noticed they charged me 210.00 more than we agreed on I had to take a magnifying glass to see it well with all this said it was my fault that I trusted a salesman representing his company would be honest yes I sigh the papers so I guess that is on me I was lied to about my trade in and the price we shook hands on was changed moral of the story pay attention to reviews and look over your paper work even if you need to take a magnifying glass with you and take someone with you. shame on you liberty ford i hope taking advantage of someone was worth it . wished i would of went back to varsity ford where i brought my last car at least they were honest read more

Had the worst experience here. Was told that it would be $515 - $525 to lease a $17500 Ford Focus. After configuring numbers kept insisting that even if I didn't roll in my car it'd still be in the mid $400s, but refused to bring out any type of numbers work up and instead kept walking back and forth from the finance guy. I don't think he was working up numbers from the listing price as nothing made sense. Then he had the audacity to tell me that if I'm not comfortable with a payment in the $500s there no point in continuing with the conversation. My boyfriend was continuously proving this guy wrong wth his numbers and I feel they were trying to add on a few thousand to that price. Absolutely awful service. Unfortunately he never bothered to introduce himself and didn't have business cards so I do not have his name. I have never had an experience like this at any dealership. Said he would go look for my keys and never came back. We waited 20 minutes for him to look for keys for us to look at a particular car and never came back with them. Didn't know his inventory or cars on the lot (said he didn't have any sel sedans on the lot, but when driving away we saw 3). It's a shame because the initial guy I had talked to seemed like an entirely different person. But after this experience I will never go back. read more
