David and Ian are absolutely wonderful! Very timely and courteous and willing to accommodate me and my partner on a mutual divorce. I was made to feel that even if I was in a contentious and borderline ugly divorce (which most end up being sadly) that the services I would receive from David would be helpful, direct, and honest. And he has a great sense of humor (which I believe NO ONE is supposed to have as a characterization of a divorce attorney) which I mean to say helped everything be less daunting, scary or time consuming and created a general ease for my partner and myself. Any time I had any questions of any sort I was greeted with a quick response. So - if you need a responsible, courteous and knowledgeable divorce attorney, look no further than Liaise Divorce Solutions! read more

I had the privilege of working with David Stein in my divorce and I was very satisfied. Divorce is never fun, obviously, but David really went out of his way to make it easy and simple. My divorce was as painless as it could get, ie, we got together for three meetings and everything could be done electronically. David was kind, patient, even at times that was quite trying. Thank you, David, for making a difficult experience as easy as you've done. read more

For the vast majority of us, when we said, "I do," we meant it and we meant it for life. Unfortunately, these good intentions can sometimes be overshadowed by real and unexpected dynamics--many times harmful and unhealthy--in a relationship. David Stein made going through a divorce as pleasant as anyone could hope for it to be. He kindly and respectfully kept us focused on what's best for our children and for our continued relationship moving forward. He steered the conversations to produce productive outcomes. He and his team helped carry us across the finish line. There was no courtroom appearance necessary and no papers that we needed to file with the court. I'm certain that David treats each couple, each situation, as unique and individual. I wholeheartedly recommend David and the Liaise Divorce Solutions process for anyone who has concluded that divorce is the right choice for them. read more

David and his team were great in navigating us through our divorce. We were able to meet with David virtually through screen connect and most of the things we needed were completed through email and DocUSIgn. Thanks for making a difficult situation easier on everyone. read more

My wife, soon to be ex, much sooner than expected thanks to Liaise Solutions, and I could not afford nor did we want a lengthy dissolution process. We agreed to work together, be civil and appropriate, a prerequisite for this process, with a common goal to shield our kids from any ugliness and to wrap this up so we can get on with our new lives. Liaise Divorce Solutions handled this process professionally and conveniently primarily through video conferencing, some emails, and a couple of phone calls with no court appearances! Thank you so much David, Ian, and support staff! Not at all what I expected in a divorce, quite the opposite! Sincerely, Jerrod Burns read more

It was a great pleasure working with Mr. Stein and his team. He is everything you want the attorney to be - friendly, knowledgeable, and super prompt. He makes himself available by e-mail or in person really quickly, taking much stress out of the process. Unlike other family law attorneys, he will not encourage you to fight your spouse just to bill you, but he will work with you toward finding the best solution for you and for your situation - however easy or challenging it might be. I would recommend Mr. Stein without reservation. read more

David, thank you so much for helping me through this tough time. I am really grateful for everything you did to make sure the process was smooth and fair. I would anytime recommend David for all the efforts he put in to make things less stressful, in such difficult times, for both the parties!!! read more

David was very calm and professional guiding us through the most difficult process as we reorganized our family. There were many times were it could have spiraled out of control. David was always able to get us refocused on our agreed upon intent. It took a little longer than I had anticipated and I recommend future clients meet with David face to face in his office, at least for their first appointment. We had mostly online meetings and found that we really got traction when we finally all met face to face. read more

Liaise Divorce Solutions, LLC were incredible at dealing with my case. Even three years later when I had to request a copy of my decree he remembered who I was. Thanks again for all your help read more

They do collaborative-process divorce, which works best if you and your ex are pretty much on the same page about everything. When I was really concerned about something, David patiently explained it to me over the phone. His fees are fair, and clear (no surprises), and he has been doing this for like 30 years, so he knows the system. read more

Getting a divorce is hard. Liaise made the process easier and less stressful. No in court appearances were necessary.

Do not go to this mediator. The Marital Settlement Agreement (MSA) David Stein produced for my ex-spouse and I was unenforceable because of how poorly written it was. In the event you and your ex have differences down the road, I am writing this with a sense of obligation to warn you. Seek mediation elsewhere. After our divorce was finalized, I ended up hiring a lawyer when my ex-spouse chose not to adhere to our judgment. It was expensive for my ex and me. We ended up settling out of court, in a compromise that didn't feel good to either of us, because both of our lawyers warned us that the MSA would certainly be thrown out if brought before a judge. In my case, using the services of Liaise Divorce Solutions was the equivalent of writing out the division of our property on a beverage napkin in a bar. David Stein's services are affordable, but a divorce is not the time to cut corners. Your MSA is important to your economic and financial future. Pay to get it done right the first time. Hiring lawyers to fix a mess once you're already in it is unfathomably expensive. read more

I am not one to write reviews generally. But I feel compelled to write this one because I hope to help someone else avoid the pain and frustration I've been through over the course of the year. Much like Stefan reported, my experience with Liaise was similar. It started off fine over a couple of video conference sessions. But, on the third, in-person visit, he began to rage on me when I would not acquiesce to a demand of my ex's. He berated me on behalf of my ex's position by belittling, insulting, and demonizing me. He even ADMITTED to expressing a bias when I confronted him on it, which his contract expressly states the mediator shall not do. I believe this is one of his "mediation" tactics. I've spoken to several mediation experts since, and they all agree that this type of tactic is unethical. I should have ended it there; instead, I focused on getting to a mutually beneficial outcome by taking over the negotiations directly with my ex while keeping David and his paralegal in the loop. I submitted the final MSA to Liaise to assist with filing and have not been able to get them to finalize the required forms nor to supporting the filing deadline in the agreement. This after paying $4,000 in fees with a guarantee that they would also prepare the required forms for filing and assist with the filling process. If you have an inkling that any terms of your separation/divorce will be contentious, I would not recommend using the Liaise team. It seems they are unskilled at anything other than strong arm tactics, and take issue when called on their unethical practices. I can share the short, terse, and confrontational emails to prove it. read more

Working with David was extremely easy. He was very professional and worked very patiently with both of us to get to a mutual agreement in less time than we would have spent in court. Highly recommended. read more

My TIC partners and I brought our dispute over a pet issue to David Stein. Despite the contentious nature of the dispute, he kept everyone calm, courteous, and on track through our mediation session. Instead of ending up in costly, ruinous litigation, David helped us resolve our issue amicably and to everyone's satisfaction. Best of all, the TIC partners all left mediation on good terms and better communicators for the experience. Definitely go see David before resorting to litigation. He grasped our situation quickly and maintained a friendly impartiality throughout. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Liaise and David Stein. My former wife and I knew how we wanted to proceed with our separation and divorce but needed assistance to get where we wanted to be. David from day one prepared us using his knowledge and skills to keep us on track. His listening skills and knowing what we wanted in the end was instrumental to very favorable results. After some period of time my former wife was diagnosed with cancer. It proved to be fatal. Having no family lawyer I called David for guidance. He did what I expected and gave me a referral to another attorney specializing in estates. I have subsequently hire that estate attorney and very happy with that choice. I really appreciate the kindness and understanding David provided to me during these two life changing events. read more

I have known David for over 5 years professionally as fellow lawyers, and he has served as mediator for my clients. I can say without hesitation that David is a fine, professional person with the highest of moral and ethical standards. I have been impressed with his dogged pursuit of the parties, to get them to the table so that their dispute could be resolved. David is not about lining his own pockets. He is about helping people resolve what appear to them to be impossible problems, as quickly and economically as possible. Your first response in dealing with "legal" conflict should be to turn to David. read more

Want a cheap quick divorce, use this Mediator option! These are the people to go to. David Stein and his staff were so hands-on and helpful and explained the whole complicated process in easy to understand terms. In 7mo and about $2,500 dollars later it was completed. Call and get a free consultation over the phone and David will not bullshit you, if he can help -he'll say it, if it's going to be complicated -he'll say it. He was a divorce lawyer for many before he got sick of all the fighting and decided civil mediation was a kinder gentler approach. read more

Like the others who have gone through divorce, I appreciate how quick and painless (relatively) the process was with Liaise. We only had to at meet in person twice, and less than 3 months to the day since the ex announced he needed to leave me to wallow more fully in his midlife crisis (tee!) we have received notice that our judgment was complete. I've heard horror stories from colleagues about how long and drawn out things can get, so thank you, David, for making this go as quick and smooth as possible. Also, thank you to all the fellow Yelp reviewers for their reviews on Liaise. Sharing experiences about divorce is harder than waxing rhapsodic about the best place to get a burrito or a haircut, so I appreciate your pointing the way. read more

David guided us through the mediation process with patience, professionalism, and solid expertise. He helped us stay on course when, several times, it appeared that we could not reach an agreement. We ultimately did and by using the mediation process, saved thousands of dollars in attorneys' fees, probably a year in delays, and we were both able to move on with our lives and let go of a lot of anger. By utilizing "virtual" meetings, we didn't even have to be in the same room. That alone helped keep things calmer and more productive. I cannot say enough about the mediation process in general and, more specifically, David's skills as a mediator and guide through the process. His support team is great at getting all the paperwork circulated, signed, notarized, and submitted. read more

Going through the process of separation and divorce is extremely overwhelming. I hadn't a clue as to where to start. I knew a few people who had gone through the process but none of them thought their Mediators were worth recommending. That was so discouraging to me. Divorce is such a sad and painful experience to go through and I really didn't want to sign up with just anyone like they had done. So, with a little help from Google, I found this very helpful article: http://www.mediate.com/articles/denny.cfm. You should read this! Next, I called Liase Divorce Solutions. They put me in touch with David Stein. I had a ton of very specific questions (thanks to that handy article) and he answered them all very calmly and considerately. At the end of my interrogation, he invited my ex and I to come in to meet with him in person. Our first meeting was an interview to see how we all got along. David really did impress us! His presence was quite calm and his presentation (yes, he had a PowerPoint presentation) was very organized and professional. He thoroughly explained the entire process to us and we signed up with him before we left. Our first official meeting was on February 2nd and our filing was complete by February 8th. Our MSA was finished shortly thereafter. We're done! My family and friends are all very surprised by how quickly we were able to finish everything. Major kudos to David Stein and his team! I would HIGHLY recommend his services. David, we truly truly thank you for your kindness and professionalism through our very tough time. We are so glad we found YOU and that YOU were the one by our side through this process. Everyone should be so lucky! read more

I don't recommend divorce, especially when you have a child and a business together. Invest in counseling. Take a vacation. Work on yourself! I sure hope I never have to repeat the process, but if I do, I'd work with David @ Liaise again. We did all our 3-way "meetings" online, a great use case for video conferencing. That said, I sure hope you figure out a way to avoid the process. read more

I went to this company for help with an issue that I had no idea how to deal with. David took charge of the situation for us and advised myself, my partner and the individuals that had issues with my company. If I find myself in a similar situation, I will use Liaise Mediated Solutions again. read more

Divorce is not easy, but with David's guidance, my ex-husband and I were able to navigate the paperwork and negotiations in an environment that was supportive to both of us. And 3 years later, helped by supplying me with a copy of some paperwork needed for a refinance. Professional, responsive and efficient. Thank you Liaise Divorce Solutions. read more

Working with Liaise through my divorce was as stress free and as easy as a divorce process could possibly be. Let's face it - divorce is never going to be fun. But, it can be logical, orderly, and done! David Stein at Liaise Divorce Solutions provided us a professional experience. I moved to Louisiana and my ex-husband lives in California. David worked with us via Skype and helped us weave the challenging legal web of divorce. I originally thought we would attempt this on our own, and the bottom line is no matter how agreeable divorce starts, it always has bumps in the road and a mediator is a must! Be clear that nothing is fast about the legal process, but diligence and professionalism is what it takes to complete the task. Thanks to David and his team for making a tough situation a true "Family Reorganization." read more

David possesses the gifts of saliency, keen observation skills particularly as interpersonal dynamics, a meticulous mind alert to complexity and subtlety, and an easy -- yet appropriately direct -- style of communication. Add a witty sense of humor, too. His focus is to move forward as this is productive, efficient momentum. But he does not push as that compromises delicately timed negotiation. This attention to context and timing -- even nuances signifying readiness towards agreement -- cannot be stressed enough. Working with David means nothing is wasted -- not your time, money, honesty, and emotional and mental energies. The mediation process and participation is handled with utmost respect and fairness, preserving the dignity of the parties involved. read more

Made me feel like I am a fraud victim, or as if I am in a sort of money scam. Nothing made sense from day one. The website and forms were completely useless, David himself wasn't at all helpful. He started making me feel bullied via his initial emails. He yelled during our meetings and lost his temper multiple times. He used to say 'When I talk, you listen!!'. I felt like I am in secondary school in the last century, shy of getting physically disciplined. Both my ex and I would have to get all the material redone by attorneys, costing us thousands of dollars. This was squarely due to the incompetence of David, who failed to save his working file after our session and lost the majority of the progress we had made. The attorneys said they had never seen such a mess when we shared what David gave us after a good 10 hours of spending our money. At a $450 an hour rate, this is incredibly unacceptable. Our case wasn't at all complicated either: no kids, no real estate, short term marriage. I am not sure how this company can stay in business with this type of performance, or how anyone can have anything good to say. All they did well was sending us invoices, those never came late. I warn everyone - seriously - to get involved with Liaise. This felt like a big big disaster, in a time where this is least thing you need. read more

I would never use Liase solutions for the complicated divorce process. They used an inexperienced divorce attorney for our case, who later admitted she had made many mistakes in our divorce settlement. and that it was her first case. When my husband flat out refused to split the retirement funds after more than 4 years of waiting , stipulation of which was written into agreement, I got no help from Liase, and had to hire my own attorney to receive my half of the divorce funds, costing me well over $4000.00. Also temporary support stipulated by the judge was never paid by my ex-husband.When I asked David Stein for assistance He sarcastically replied "You are well represented by your own attorney. Why don't you employ him to get your temporary support?"( an amount greater than 15.000 dollars) In the end , it would have cost more to recoup the money via attorney than to just give it up, and resolve to advise my friends NEVER to use mediation, especially Liase. the stipulations are totally unenforceable! If both parties are honest, I suppose it might work, but believe me, I found that no one is totally honest when it comes to divorce. Get an attorney who represents you and only you. Liase in particular seemed smarmy, with David Stein assigning an attorney with absolutely no experience and while our attorney was affable and sweet, she was totally unaware of the hidden language my ex worked into the agreement to my detriment. Let the buyer beware. . read more

David was great. He was quick to reply to my questions, and tried his best to make sure I understood the law as it relates to my situation. Our law firm has hired David Stein/Liaise Mediated Solutions on several occasions to mediate difficult disputes both before and during litigation. On each of these occasions, David was the key to unlocking a seemingly deadlocked situation. Once a dispute reaches litigation, people are often blinded by hostility and hubris which can many times lead them down a path of spending thousands of dollars on litigation without any certainty of a solution or result in sight. As an experienced litigator, David is well-versed in the risks and pitfalls of litigation and he draws on his experiences to develop creative, outside-of-the-box solutions that parties engrossed in the process might not be able to see. Most importantly, it is David's outstanding interpersonal skills which enable him to connect with the people involved and allow them to be heard. As an excellent communicator, David conveys the hard messages that people need to hear to make a solution possible, even if it requires him to stay late into the evening to make things happen. Every time we have used David as a mediator, David either successfully resolved disputes at mediation or paved a path that allowed the parties to reach a solution soon after. I highly recommend using David Stein/Liaise Mediated Solutions for anyone wanting to resolve legal disputes effectively and efficiently. read more

The language of the written agreement composed by David Stein, Liaise Divorce Solutions, was so ambiguous that it was extremely easy for the opposing party to simply refuse to honor their part. It was immediately thrown out of court by two judges! (not just one judge). If one of the involved parties decided to lie and NOT keep their word or follow through, it is a complete waste of time. Unfortunately the $1,000s I paid and the grueling 12 hours I spent to agree on a solution were worthless and ended up costing me much more because I trusted the contract we paid for would make legal sense. read more

Conflicts and problems are inevitable. In terms of money, time and ulcers, courtrooms are a costly way to get them resolved. I found a company that helped me through a legal mess through mediation. My adversary and I agreed on only one thing: to first try an objective person with a legal (litigation) background to look at both sides of our situation. We did and he made a face-saving, non-nuclear, meet-in-the-middle suggestion that gave us both a way to settle the dispute and get on with our lives. You need to know who got this done---David D.
