After that, I was asked to provide an additional $10,000 retainer. During this time, I was being harassed nonstop by the owner of the firm BRENT KASPAR to continue paying more money. I was asked for a significantly amount of $25,700 which I declined. They withdrew from my case and left me stranded. In total, I paid this firm $35,000, and my divorce was not even completed through their services. I ultimately had to finish the process on my own after a very long and stressful legal battle. My paid consultation with Brent Kaspar was nothing more than an outright exercise in frustration, disappointment, and sheer indignation. From the outset, this so-called legal professional proved himself to be nothing more than a pompous charlatan masquerading as a competent attorney. First and foremost, he had the audacity to keep me waiting for ten infuriating minutes past our scheduled appointment, showing neither urgency nor the basic decency to acknowledge his tardiness. No apology, no explanation--just an immediate dive into his pretentious, insufferable monologue, as if I were some inconsequential nuisance interrupting his day. Rather than engage in a meaningful discussion regarding our child custody situation, he steamrolled over every attempt we made to provide context, dismissing our words with thinly veiled contempt and a condescending tone that made it painfully clear he had zero interest in actually helping. He was not merely inattentive--he was willfully ignorant, obstinate, and utterly insufferable. Worse yet, his gaslighting tactics were outright reprehensible. He contradicted our statements, feigned understanding while offering irrelevant legal drivel, and made us feel as though we were somehow in the wrong for expecting competence and professionalism. It was blatantly apparent that he had no intention of taking our case--he was simply going through the motions to justify fleecing us for $225 for what amounted to almost half-hour of being talked down to, ignored, and financially exploited. This wasn't just a waste of money--it was an insult to anyone seeking genuine legal counsel. His arrogance was suffocating, his listening skills nonexistent, and his integrity laughable. If you value your time, sanity, and financial resources, steer clear of this fraud. I'll start this by saying this is probably the first negative review I've ever written, but I feel that I owe this to other potential customers. Look elsewhere for prenup services. My interaction with this firm was characterized by poor communication, inefficiency, and, unfortunately, frank incompetency. My initial consultation was with Mr. Kaspar, and that was excellent. I was then assigned a different attorney with the firm (not a partner) and everything went quite sharply downhill. They delayed starting on our documents for more than a month because they evidently forgot to send follow up forms for us to fill out. Then, when they sent the forms, they were not blank, but instead had another client's personal details filled out, including information about their children. They did not apologize or acknowledge their error when I pointed out this confidentiality breach. Then, they were very slow to review my completed forms when these were provided and then proceeded to furnish us with a draft riddled with errors and an apparent misunderstanding of CA law. My partner's counsel ended up having to do significant edits to correct these mistakes. We initiated the process more than 3 months prior to our wedding and only received the final signed document 3 days before our ceremony. Furthermore, they apparently felt justified using up essentially my entire $7500 deposit for this farce- my partner paid only around $2500 for his counsel, who was much more experienced. The good part: Named partners are great, front office staff is great. The firm got me through my (uncontested) divorce in under 12 months without any major hiccups. Unfortunately the lawyer who actually worked on my divorce was not as good at communication or execution. Emails would sometimes go unanswered, calls were never returned, and requested copies of documents were never provided. I was totally ripped off by Brent Kasper. Brent Kaspar immediately told me he could handle my case because he had a similar case, "Just to let you know we received word from court today that the judge accepted our position...." he wrote to get me. After I gave him a $5,000 dollar retainer he never attended me again. Ramon an assistant lawyer, that took my case, told me that he had never done a case such as mine. It would be his first time! Brent told me Ramon speaks Spanish. Ramon told me he does not speak Spanish. I immediately received bills liquidating the retainer for telephone conversations, conferences, and answering emails which added up to $3,000. As soon as I realized that the $5,000 retainer was disappearing quickly, I asked them to stop billing me and to return my money since the bills did not reflect any work to help my divorce!! It took 5 emails demanding my money back until Brent answered me, "We have explained to you countless times why service under The Hague convention will not work in your case!!" I was shocked that they took my money, $3,000 that took me 150 hours to earn, and callously changed that he could not help me. He actually set back my divorce. Beware! read more

I was out of money and severely in debt, they promised to help me if I paid "one more retainer", then they hung me out to dry with NO RESULTS and LIES! I got more results in a month by myself, and massive progress in one week with a cheaper better attorney who drives results not costs. Retained Kaspar as an attorney less than a month before my court date. I had experienced a toxic parental alienation campaign by my spouse who had complete control of my special needs child. In his consultation, he sold me on the fairness of the judge and that I shouldn't go with another national firm because family law was a local practice. In the weeks after, -His associate ignored my requests to try get a visitation that weekend and only sent the request Friday afternoon -His associate and paralegal waited to give me edits to my response filings until the last minute and shot down requests for changes without discussion. -Kasper left for a week long vacation right near the filing date and didn't inform me ahead of time. He was not available for discussion about my response filing. -Scheduled a call days after he returned from his vacation stating that he needed to "manage my expectations." -During that call, he scolded me for "mistreating his employees" when I made complaints about these issues and stated "I have my employees backs". Never mentioning that he had my back as well as his client. -In the same call, completely reversed what he said in the consultation and stated that, now that he had a chance to review the materials, we weren't going to fight back on the alienation pattern at all and just follow what the opposing counsel wanted me to do. I fired him a week before my court date because he lost my trust and can never get it back. He is a liar who only wants your retainer and then disappears while his incompetent staff drop ball after ball and then scolds his client for pushing back . Do not use this man's services. read more

When I met with Brent Kaspar he was confident about my case, as soon as he received my retainer I was passed off to an Associate Ramon. I had to re-write almost my entire filing and Ramon missed all of the timelines in a serious custody matter. The last straw was when the Judge called on him in zoom Court and there was no response... It took the Judge several times to rouse him from slumber at which point he announce that he was not prepared and suggested a Continuance to allow my Ex, Pro Se at the time, to hire counsel!
