Bill is currently assisting me with an ongoing case. We had wrapped it up years ago, but new things have come up and I can confidently say he continues to be incredibly thorough, professional, and supportive every step of the way. From the beginning, he brought clarity and structure to a very difficult situation, and he hasn't missed a beat since. He's patient, detail-oriented, and truly listens -- which is rare to find. Having someone like Bill in your corner during a stressful legal process makes all the difference. I continue to be grateful for his guidance and highly recommend him to anyone needing strong, compassionate legal representation. read more

I am grateful to have found Bill Parks to assist me with the legal family process. I tried 2 other family attorneys prior to Bill and was extremely disappointed and almost lost hope in finding an attorney whom I can trust. Bill is extremely attentive and promptly answered all of my questions, both via email and phone. He even explained to me some court systems used in the process. He was patient to hear my concerns and worries and even provide some emotional support. If you are looking for a family attorney, Bill is the one. His professionalism and competency make him stand out. read more

Bill was originally my consulting attorney and then my fully representing attorney on my recent divorce. As consulting attorney, he provided an ideal blend of availability and cost-effective support while I did a lot of heavy lifting myself. He offered both strategic guidance on the big picture as well as more granular help on things like reviewing forms I completed, not to mention patiently addressing my endless questions. Later, as representing attorney, he took the reins in a way that made me comfortable and confident as we neared the most intense parts of the process. And he was very thoughtful in knowing when to push hard on some issues and creative in addressing others. In the end we reached a reasonable settlement that exceeded my expectations in a few ways thanks to his help and insights. read more

Really weird consult with Bill. Had a bad attitude and the complete opposite info from all other lawyers I talked to

I am thankful I found Bill Parks to help me through my divorce. He was responsive, provided incredible advice along the way, and guided me through the process in a professional manner. At every stage of the process, I felt that he was truly working to get the process resolved versus tagging the clock for additional fees along the way, which was my biggest fear in finding an attorney. He is level headed and extremely knowledgeable about the process, and I would highly recommend him to anyone going through a divorce. read more

This review is long overdue: Karen Parks is an extremely skilled attorney who knows what she is doing!! She is very knowledgeable about family law and will fight tooth and nail for you. My experience with Karen is that she is very determined, hard-working, and creative-she always finds solutions to problems. She works hard to make sure there is a good outcome and is very diligent. Most importantly, she genuinely cares about her clients and brings warmth and empathy, which is extremely important to a family law case. I highly recommend and you definitely want to get her on your side because she brings great results. She is definitely the best family law attorney you can find! read more

I guess Bill got too popular and when my needs were under a $1,000 retainer he stopped being about his clients. I can understand if I was a first time client, but it was a follow up the same case that he worked on before. I came to him with great news: that my coparent wanted to make a stipulation to avoid court. It would have taken no more than 1 hour of his time to help someone who wrote a positive review, recommended him to other high paying clients -- but instead he insisted he needed a $1,000 retainer for one simple, straight forward stipulation. I am really disappointed. I was able to find lawyer, Amanda Gordon, very easily who was happy to help write a stipulation for a 1 hour fee, without any history between us. I was not going to write a negative review because I don't like to do it, but I think people should be warned, he is not interested in following through with his clients unless they are over $1,000. read more

In my initial consultation with Mr. Parks, I was thoroughly impressed. I immediately felt at ease due to his kind, respectful and supportive demeanor. After relaying to him a complicated situation, Mr. Park asked thoughtful questions and actively listened to the answers. In turn, when I asked questions, his answers were informative and thorough. I appreciated Mr. Park's candor and honest assessment of our situation. My fiancé and I have to decide if we are going to pursue a custody battle. One thing we are 100% certain of is Mr. Parks will be the one we choose to represent us. If you are unsure who to call for legal help, pick up the phone and call William Park - like me, you will be glad you did. read more

I reached out to Parks Law Group to handle pre wedding paperwork. From the first request consultation on Yelp, Bill was extremely helpful and responsive. Not only were his rates extremely fair for the type of work I was looking for, he was extremely transparent about the estimated number of hours as well as his schedule. Due to all the efforts of him and his team especially in the challenging COVID-19 era, we were able to get everything done promptly and professionally. Five stars all the way. read more

You know what I discovered? California doesn't care if your bastard husband cheats on you in a divorce. And all this time I thought I had ammunition against the two-timer...I was wrong. Do you know how I learned this? I actually learned this twice. First, I was at the family law court dealing with my divorce on my own. While waiting for my case to be called, I heard the judge tell another scorned wife that it doesn't matter if her husband of 29 years cheated on her. LOVELY!! I felt despair and anger rage all over me. If I had the law wrong on this matter, Christ, what else did I have wrong. Several cases were called before mine. It was during one of them that I saw Bill represent his client. I was impressed. While the other divorce attorney was all over the board (even I had a tough time following him) and emotional, Bill appeared very composed. Bill was articulate, very well prepared, and proved to be a good advocate for his client. I have to admit, I didn't totally catch his name (only a snippet) so I went to the paper with all the Cases listed at the front of the courtroom and verified Bill's name. From what I could tell, Bill got his client what she asked the court for. I hired him in hopes he could do the same for me and thus far he has. I did research on Bill and consulted several other divorce attorneys. In the end, it was Bill who made me feel comforted and comfortable. I felt safe having him handle my divorce. He obviously already impressed me with his litigation skills that I was not worried about his courtroom competency. I also chose Bill because of all the divorce lawyers I met with, his rates were the most reasonable. Anyway, I wanted to confirm with Bill if it was true, if California doesn't care whether cheating is involved in a divorce. Unfortunately, he confirmed that fact, but I didn't feel despair or rage anymore, like I did in court. I actually felt protected with Bill on my side. read more

f you are reading this in an effort to find a divorce attorney, I am sincerely sorry for you. Its an awful, awful thing for anyone to have to go through. Despite my best efforts, I was forced into getting a divorce attorney and after meeting with several, whom I could only best define as being focussed on nothing but the money and more importantly what they would earn, I consulted Yelp and thank god I did. After reading the reviews for Parks Law Group I scheduled an appointment and from that moment on, as everything else around me seemingly either crumbled or tried to destroy me, I felt a little safer. All the reviews for Bill are totally accurate, he is a calm, reassuring, hard working attorney who treats you like a person, not just a paycheck. He went above and beyond for me but always in such a manner that was professional and courteous. So whilst your life may have just changed dramatically and everything seems so confusing right now, do yourself a favor and remove one big question, by making an appointment. Ian I am reposting this review because my original was for some reason flagged. I feel strongly however that I repost because of how great Bill was. Divorce is an awful time in anyone's life and the value of having someone like Bill involved, is far more then just financial. read more

This is another example where Yelp came through for me. The amazing reviews here convinced me to pick him to take over my case (from another lawyer) and I couldn't be happier. Bill completely breaks any negative stereotype that is attached to lawyers; he's the consummate professional, that not only is honest, he is extremely competent and actually cares about his customers -- truly. Not a "fake" caring for the sake of getting a referral out of it, but the true, honest, heartfelt caring about you and your well being. Not only he handled my case beautifully, talking to him actually made be feel that he was truly looking out for me not only legally and financially but also emotionally. Truly beyond any expectations I had coming in (even after reading the reviews). By the way: I won't go into the details of my case, but I believe that anyone going through any stages of any process that involves family law should consult with him, even for basic stuff like simply considering moving to California -- even if you're not foreseeing any legal challenges right now. California family law is surprisingly... surprising and strange, and talking to Bill is just such a pleasure and he's so honest and caring you have absolutely no excuse to NOT pick up the phone and schedule a consultation. You won't regret it -- any regret will be if you do not call him... read more

If you are looking for a well respected, highly competent, and straightforward family law attorney, then please stop looking because William is the lawyer for you! Dealing with William, I have come to realize that he's unlike many attorneys I've dealt with in my life. He's very professional, ethical and not money hungry, i.e., he's not looking to squeeze money from you (and away from your child's college fund) in order to fight every little thing. Here's the other thing I appreciate about William, he's very responsive to my queries and he listens to what I say. He explains all the pros and cons, highs and lows that may or will arise in my case. What sealed it for me and the reason why I refer people to William is his patience and calm demeanor, even when dealing with emotional issues that arise in family law. SO to sum it all up for you, if you are going through a divorce or have any family law problems (other than divorce, I don't know the specifics pertaining to family law) William is the family lawyer for you. Oh, and if you're interested in reading material, William maintains an informative and entertaining blog on his website. read more

Bill Parks handled my divorce in 2016. I found him on Yelp, not really having an existing relationship with a lawyer in family law. In our initial consultation, Bill put me at ease and gave me a concise overview of the potential cost, timeframe, and legal logistics of getting divorced in California, a community property state. I walked out of the initial meeting feeling like I had found an excellent divorce lawyer, and I was not disappointed in the final result. Though it was an amicable divorce, Bill was still instrumental in negotiating a relatively painless settlement. I know I wasn't Bill's most important case financially, yet he always kept me updated, answered my emails, and took my calls. read more

Regarding divorce, this review is long overdue. A year ago, William (or Bill) assisted my mom with her divorce and he was a godsend. Overall, he has a wonderful demeanor and great personality. He is thorough in explaining the process, in my mom's case the difference between a divorce and a legal separation, what the process entails, explained what the applicable law was for my mom's case and how the law actually works, but most importantly he was able to foresee potential issues and brought those to my mom's attention so that way she would hopefully have no surprises. Along with my mom's divorce (or rather marital dissolution proceeding, in legal jargon), Bill handled my mom's child custody and child support issues attached to her case (for my step-sister). I accompanied my mother to her initial divorce consultation with uncertainty, since two of my friends had bad experiences with their attorneys specifically with the issue of money and any leftover retainer failing to be returned to them despite the agreement stating that it would be. However, Bill alleviated this insecurity by the way he conducts his business. Bill is a very honest person, especially with his billing and accountability. When there was money left over in the retainer he returned it to my mom, no matter how little the amount was. He gave her a very detailed account of all his work and also made sure to not talk more than he had to, in order to save a buck or two. In comparison with the other attorneys we saw, Bill was competitively priced!! The sadness and pain associated with a divorce aside, my mom ended her 2nd marriage much to her satisfaction and was very pleased. She had interviewed a few attorneys besides Bill, but in the end she told me she chose him because something about him made her feel safe and protected. In the end, my mom made the best decision of her life by choosing Bill from Parks Law Group to represent her in her dissolution, child custody and child support matters. She trusts him so much she has referred three people very close and dear to her to see him for their paternity issue, domestic partnership, and the very delicate issue of domestic violence; all of which are issues he is very well versed in. read more

Allow me to cut to the chase: In my opinion, Bill is by far the best divorce attorney. When I first met with Bill, I thought my divorce was straightforward. Bill made a thorough analysis and highlighted potential issues regarding properties and accounts I had. He guided me through the convoluted divorce map that applied to my situation. I wasn't happy with what he had to say, at first, so I met with other family law lawyers. However, in meeting with other divorce attorneys I realized they all agreed with what Bill said. I still wasn't happy, but at least I knew where I stood. Since I appreciated Bill's character and candor, and especially his reasonable fees, I selected him as my lawyer. I knew that my case could get nasty and costly. If the other attorneys (and much more expensive) agreed with Bill's assessment, why go anywhere else?!?! In the year+ relationship I cultivated with Bill handling my divorce, all the positive reviews written about him came to light. He really is probably one of the most hard working people I know. He is calm and composed, even during highly emotional courtroom exchanges. He is practical with his advice and guidance and understands that divorce battles can get costly, but he tries to minimize the cost however he can, i.e. by not making mountains out of molehills. We did litigate my case quite a bit; and in every step Bill proved to be competent and effective. I throughly and whole heartedly recommend Bill Parks as a family law and divorce attorney. I wouldn't trust anyone else with the most delicate and emotional issues such as a divorce. read more

Mr. Parks is the best divorce attorney you can find. He is honest, caring, knowledgeable, smart, helpful and friendly. Trust me, divorce is depressing, sad and awful. In order to deal with all the legal channels you will need to find an honest, hardworking and smart divorce attorney who can advise and/or represent you in your divorce; someone like Mr. Parks. We will be forever grateful to have found an attorney who possesses such a deep degree of integrity, professionalism, talent, knowledge, ~ and this is huge, kindness. Our treacherous trek though a family law issue had us on edge. William kept us focused on just the facts, and presented a palatable plan. He kept us calm and confidant as he navigated us through the legal maze. The outcome was that all parties are satisfied. (Well, mostly us!) Karen is a talented lawyer who has helped me with many Family law issues; custody problems, a restraining order, and the best ways to get through a divorce. She's the type of lawyer who tells you exactly what the law is, almost word for word, then breaks in down so you can actually have a conversation about it. When you call her, she picks up the phone! For such a busy lawyer, Karen always answers my calls and keeps it personal. She's just a phone call or a text away. I know if I get an opinion/answer from Karen, I can trust and bank on what she says. She's clearly not a factory lawyer who just wants to grab your retainer and put you in line with the rest of her clients. Not only does Karen know Family Law, she knows how the Courts actually work. She's realistic about how long things will take and how to get them done! Generally, I've found lawyers to not be that nice. Karen is NOT one of those lawyers. She treats ALL of her clients the same. Everyone, regardless of how much or how little money you have, is treated in the same professional and personal manner. You know how they say, "It would be nice to have a doctor in the family...." Well, it's great knowing a first rate Family Law lawyer and being able to get her on the phone! read more

I had a very complicated case as it related to many family issues and matters, such as restraining orders, child custody, property, etc. My previous family attorney did not handle my case properly at all and there a lot of documents were missing or did not do it properly. My case did not get any better or move a single step forward. I got stuck. I was really want to get the divorce done. I was in limbo. Luckily, I found Bill. It's been several years since I used William Parks and Karen Buitrago's service during a child custody and child support battle at the Parks Law Group. It was a really nasty case with a defiant teenager and horrible x. I was a mess but these two wonderful, caring and thoughtful people helped me get through it. I wrote a review during my case with a 5 star rating on their outstanding service but somehow it got pulled. This is an update to the pulled review. I have called Bill on several occasions since my case when things did not go right. He always made time to guide me through the legal mumble jumbo and what it actually meant and the probable outcome based on California law. The information was always helpful in giving me the knowledge to make the most appropriate choices. His cost for the original case was beyond fair. He has on several occasions given me free but great advice. More importantly, the two of them genuinely care. I actually got a call from Bill last month, checking up on me to see how I was doing. I must admit I felt compelled to write this review; seldom one finds such a professional, good, and honest advice/service as the one provided by Bill. I retained him to draft my marital settlement agreement and provide advice on paperwork, as I was the one filing. My divorce was amicable, but nonetheless was very stressful, as I can imagine divorces usually are. My situation was particular, as I only had few weeks before I temporarily left the country and had to correctly file all my divorce paperwork before I left. He diligently and efficiently worked with me, with very a tight framework, to achieve my goal. His services were fairly priced; he does not overbill and there were no surprises whatsoever on the invoices; all as per the agreed upon terms. In at least a couple of instances I clearly remember, his advice was very honest, although he could have advised me otherwise to be able to bill more, which shows the integrity of Bill. I highly admire and respect this type of work ethic, which, honestly, is hardly found nowadays. I RECOMMEND BILL hands down; he is the best advice you can get and at very affordable rates. read more
