Yay for rec sports! Kudos to LI-Kick for resurrecting a past kickball league located at Heckscher State Park in Islip. The fields are beautiful (it's in a large grassy lot) as is the (massive) park itself. LI-Kick is always set up on time with bases, foul cones, scoreboards and umpires. That's no easy feat. These guys are organized. The kickball itself is a ton of fun. Most of the teams are super cool to play against and we all leave with a big smile on our faces. They have bar meet ups after the games with drink specials and such to continue the fun. Overall, a really fun way to get outside and spend a Wednesday. You can sign up as an individual or a team. The greatest social organization I have ever been apart of. You feel so welcomed from the moment you join. Added tons of friends and always had something to do. My only regret is that there aren't more days in the week to do more LI Kick events. read more

Had a ton of fun playing on team Yelp for the inaugural kickball season in Suffolk at Heckscher State Park! We enjoyed some friendly competition with other groups from around the island. After kicking some balls around during games, the bar near the park was poppin with bar challenges and drink specials. Both opportunities were great ways to meet other people and get a little exercise before downing some beers & wings. read more
