Let me start by saying, this review is a long time coming. Unfortunately, we're now entangled in a…read morelegal battle with this joke of a contractor, so it's only delayed my mission to make public what this company/individual's business practices are. Ultimately, I don't ever want anyone to experience what we have (even though his documented victim count seems to be rising by the minute), thus my time has come to speak... When we flooded last year, the search for an honest & reputable contractor was daunting. We'd already been screwed over by a couple (see other previous reviews), so the search proved long and tedious. We thought by "waiting out the storm," we'd eventually find one who wasn't just a storm-chaser and would take the care and consideration we required in putting our home back together. Sadly we were wrong. I'd gotten a few estimates for the work needing to be completed and after having discussed it with my husband, we settled on Cory & his company, R3build Construction Services. Initially, all was great! Cory was punctual, professional, and made sure to be on his "p's & q's" when working with me. He was responsive for the most part, even though, now that I think back & further about it, the red flags were definitely there - hindsight is 20/20. What began as a warm experience, quickly turned cold. The changes he made to finishes without my approval, the repetitive no-shows to the job-site & unexplained down time by him & his "crew," the damage to existing materials, the sub-par work being done, the lack of communication & follow-up as commanded when we signed the contract, to his complete disregard for us as the OWNERS he was working for - has left an extremely bitter taste in our mouths going forward. Subsequently, his unprofessionalism has only added to my distrust for contractors in general. I attempted to allow humanism & even confronted Cory on several occasions to address the constant "mishaps" only to be met with excuse after excuse, yet with no rectification. From September until the end of December, not one single room in my house was complete. When I signed the contract we were given an 8-week window as to when our job would be done. Needless to say, that didn't happen. When we put him on notice in the beginning of December, he was given every opportunity AND THEN SOME to redeem himself, our ultimatum apparently fell on deaf ears. As a result we decided to terminate him at the end of December for failing to perform and for breaching his own contract. Amongst all those issues - the icing on the cake: irreparable damage to our plantation shutters, what we feel was a "bait & switch" tactic by charging us for an upgraded ac/furnace system (that we said we wanted initially) only to find out after learning the system wasn't operating correctly that it wasn't what we'd paid for, a crappy tile job, with several installs not up to code, and more.... not to mention - not one room in our house was even remotely close to being finished. Fast forward to now - and we're STILL not done. We've spent double the money repairing his shoddy work, lost time from work (even sleep), and now - we've even been dragged by R3build into a legal battle (along with several other families for the same issues) for "non-payment," "breach of contract," & "quantum merit." Seriously?!?!?! We notified you, gave you ample opportunity to fix the problems, and even served you with said notice. You deliberately ignored it, and have represented as if you never had any contact with us. Bravo Cory, your character speaks volumes!! At the end of the day, be forewarned. There is so much more I can share with regards to this situation, I just don't have time (I'm too busy fixing this guy's mess, so I'll just let some of the photos do the talking for me), as we'd be here for days reading. This guy/company is a joke in my eyes. Anyone that presents itself as a reputable company only to appear to take advantage of someone is indeed one that deserves a lot recognition. In doing so, maybe an end can be put to the destruction they cause.. having said that: steer clear of Cory, R3build, his crew - & subcontractors. Find someone else to do the work or if you can, do it yourself... If you do hire him - do so at your own risk. I only hope that the others that have been screwed over will see this and speak up as well... volume is important!! One star is MORE than generous for this company!

We purchased our home from LEVELTX and have had multiple plumbing issues along with numerous other…read moreproblems since moving in. Despite multiple warranty service calls (December 2024 and July 2025), by an unlicensed plumber, the problem was never fixed properly -- each time we were told it was just "construction debris in the line." By September 2025, our bathroom and bedroom flooded, and an independent plumber confirmed it was a major plumbing/foundation defect that has likely been leaking sewage and water under our home since the foundation was poured. When we contacted LEVELTX again, they refused to take responsibility, even though these issues began and were reported during the warranty period. We now face significant damage that could have been prevented if the warranty work had been handled correctly. We are extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability and poor workmanship, and we urge anyone considering building with LEVELTX to be cautious. Documentation, invoices, and photos have been retained, and we are pursuing remedies under the Texas Residential Construction Liability Act.

This company left me in a bind, cost me thousands of unnecessary dollars, and left me with an…read moreunfinished house that I will now need to hire someone else to finish because he refuses to answer my pleas to do what he promised he would do. It is going on 6 months now for a job that should have been 8-12 weeks according to him. Leo and Vadim started out very nice, responsive, and communicative. He made me feel very good about using his company and the quality I could expect from his workers. He was very confident in his abilities and what he could do for me and my property. I had concerns about his estimate price and the lack of details. In several meetings before we made a deal he assured me he would take care of every concern and keep coming back until I was satisfied. He said he would put everything in writing. I had total confidence in him. Turns out his estimate was ambiguous and open to interpretation. It lacked details and I brought it to his attention. He assured me this is the way this type of estimate is done and he would make sure everything we discussed was done. He added, he would keep coming back until I was satisfied. After the work started I stopped by a few times and noticed things his workers were doing did not seem right. Things such as demo'd materials sitting on the front lawn (killing the grass in a very large area), walls and ceilings being painted without the sheet rock repairs being made, outside wall siding and eaves being painted without the rotted wood and other defects being repaired, broken window sills that water will penetrate, windows without sealant that will let water penetrate, a new roof that has many low spots and visible water retention after it rains, exposed sub flooring where he installed new floors, it is visible where he pieced scrap wood together to make patches, the sheet rock tape is coming undone from the walls where they appear to have immediately painted over the attempted sheet rock repairs in a room that once had a huge hole in it, they used copper water pipe to install gas lines from the water heater to the washer location, I cannot feel any air coming from at least 4 of the ac vents throughout the house (this was supposed to be a new ac system), they used the 2x4 wall (less than 1.5 inches of air space) as the return air, They left construction debris all throughout the house and yard and told me I was supposed to clean it up, he promised a kitchen package including a stove, oven, and dishwasher then told me he couldn't install the dishwasher and he would give me $200 off of the price, The vent-hood/microwave combination is installed about 12 inches above the gas cook-top, the vent-hood/microwave cord runs along the wall exposed to the gas cook-top, the duct for the vent-hood directly exhausts into the attic around combustible materials, some of the cabinet doors do not open and some that do are difficult to move, the sink light is now missing and has a round plate screwed on to cover the hole, the new disposal sounds as if it will fall out of the sink at any minute, the bathroom closet door is missing but the door track is still there but just painted over, one bedroom is missing a ceiling fan he promised in the estimate and in its place is a fixture that is so loose on the ceiling it will most likely fall down at any minute and is also installed about 2 feet from center of the room, I could go on and on. I still do not have warranty paperwork for the new roof, the new a/c, the two appliances he did install, the foundation work he said he completed, or anything else I should have a written guarantee/warranty for. This review was much longer with more details and examples but I had to edit it because it was too long to post. If you use Leo or Instamax, be sure to get detailed estimates in writing, and a signed contract with a detailed timeline before you give him any money and before you get yourself into a situation where time is not on your side. He took advantage of me in those situations and he could very well take advantage of you too. If I can find a way to post the photos here I will be happy to share his work with everyone.
