I've had a wonderful experience with the LGTC group. My first therapist and I weren't quite the right match, but then I was paired with Margaret Laurie, MH AMFT--and what a difference!!! I truly can't express how grateful I am for her. She supported me through some of the darkest periods of my life with compassion, insight, and genuine care. She has an incredible ability to listen, understand, and help me make sense of what I'm going through in a way that feels safe, empowering and grounded. She was able to support me through my aging parents, mental health, perimenopause, menopause, and career changes with remarkable skill and sensitivity. She also guided me through a period of transition, helping me pause, reflect, and truly understand the major changes happening in my life. Her understanding and support through perimenopause and menopause is something more women should have the opportunity to experience. I can't recommend her highly enough for her knowledge, professionalism, and deep empathy. I will always be grateful for the support she's given me. read more

Good luck trying to get an appointment. In order to start, you have to fill out pages and pages of paperwork before they will even speak to you. Once you get the appointment, the therapist spend the entire seesion asking you the same questions that are in the forms you filled out. The scheduling department is wholly incompetitent. They canceled my series of appointments without telling me. They are refusing to tell me how long it will be to see a psychiatrist, just that my name "is on a list," despite being medically urgent. Isn't this grounds for a lawsuit? Do no got here. This place will make you only increase your anxiety and frustration. Truly rude and borderline incompetant. read more

Gatos. The only positive aspect is that they accept insurance, which initially made them seem like a convenient option. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. Communication was consistently poor, especially when it came to sharing test results. There was little to no follow-up, and I often felt left in the dark about important information regarding care. After the fact, there was a clear lack of concern, empathy, and patient support. If you're looking for a provider who is responsive, communicative, and genuinely attentive to patients, this may not be the right place. read more

This review is long overdue - I have Margaret (Meg) Laurie as my therapist, and she is absolutely incredible. I've been in therapy for the past 15 years, and she's by far the best therapist I've ever had. It is clear that she's very well experienced and truly enjoys her profession. She's very warm, comforting, and helps me work on all CBT and DBT skills so I can manage my own mind + communication/relationships with others. I have multiple diagnoses and she works with me on all of them, effectively. I'd recommend her to any age of patient. If you can get in with her, you won't be disappointed. I also have Neil Rajdev as my psychiatrist (for medication management) who has been equally as impressive. He's very receptive to my concerns, adjusts medications appropriately and conservatively, checks in on side effects, and educates me on proper usage. A lot of my past psychiatrists have thrown me on a bunch of meds and called it a day. He asks about other areas of my life, is kind, and listens very well. read more

I am in the process of helping a family member get connected with a psychiatrist in the LGTC group. I had questions about the forms and had to call the office a few times. After we completed all the forms, the big day came for our much-awaited zoom intake call. This was such a crucial point in getting the much-needed help for our family member that I planned the whole day and the days preceding it around this call. When the time finally came, I had my family member next to me, but could not figure out how to get onto the zoom call! Hyperventilating, I called the LGTC office. The woman who answered my call was so kind, calm, and patient. She walked me through getting onto the zoom call, step by step. From her voice, I think she was the same kind and helpful person who had helped me with all my other inquiries. I have found their website to be comprehensive and easy to use. So, even though we are still in the onboarding phase, I give LGTC 5 stars!!! read more

I've been a patient of many of the departments at this clinic for about a year now. I've had nothing but positive experiences. I started off visiting this clinic for mental health therapy to which I found the process pretty easy from start to finish. I've never had any issues with billing, always just owed my copayment for the office visit. Although they have a cancellation fee, I've never been charged this when I provide at least 24 hours notice, I find that reasonable. I'd also like to shout out the metabolic psychiatry program at this clinic. With the help of their program, I've lost over 30 pounds and developed a great relationship with food. I was already on my own weight loss journey, but the support of the team at this clinic was immensely helpful. Communication between the administrative staff and myself has not been an issue whenever I've needed to reach out. Initial scheduling seemed a little overbearing - they were setting me up for therapy once a week and I thought I didn't need therapy sessions that frequently but once I met with my provider, we were able to adjust accordingly to my needs and preferences. Based on my personal experiences, I would recommend the mental healthcare programs and the metabolic psychiatry program. Their office is easy to find and the parking is simple. read more

Be very careful with this practice. I discovered that for years my Psychiatrist, Dr. Ferhad Ahmad, was billing my insurance for "psychotherapy" and 60 to 90 minute appointments when I was only having brief 10-15-minute medication checks. I requested my records and found they contained generic text about "extensive therapy" that never happened. The office refused to correct the records or explain why they were billing for time that wasn't spent. Check your EOBs closely. read more

Very disorganized. There were several mistakes made during my new patient onboarding process such as scheduling me with a televideo therapist when I specifically requested in person. Finally was assigned another therapist who canceled ONE HOUR prior to our scheduled meeting time. No follow-up to reschedule. Very disappointing experience. read more

This review is for Ivanna, the TMS coordinator and technician. I have been receiving TMS treatments (transcranial magnetic stimulation) for my depression and anxiety for several weeks now at LGTC. The office itself is very cold, both literally and figuratively. It feels very sterile and unwelcoming. However, Ivanna makes this somewhat tedious treatment worthwhile. She is incredibly charismatic, kind, and very professional. Ivanna has been very forgiving and flexible with me regarding my appointment times as well. I struggle with the daily commute to this location, and if she weren't here to treat me, I'm not sure I would be able to continue coming here. She respects my OCD quirks involving cleanliness. She always makes sure to communicate what she is doing while she is doing it and ensures I am comfortable. To anyone considering TMS, I highly recommend LGTC because of Ivanna. The treatment itself has been working very well, and I'm sincerely surprised by my progress. read more

Not tolerant of trans folks. My loved one's NP left after over a year of care, and fully aware of my loved one's needs. We were reassigned to a psychiatrist who was very blatantly anti-trans in the first few sentences. Be very wary of going here if you need any kind of LGBTQIA+ support. read more

I would like to preface this review by clarifying that this is solely regarding my experience with the LGTC billing department and a few other individuals within the agency, and not my former therapist. I was a client at LGTC for a few months at the end of 2024. Their office does not always answer the phone when needing to cancel appointments, so be very mindful of that. They are inconsistent about when to charge the cancellation fee and will surprise you with it MONTHS later. I was surprised with a bill at the end of the year despite being told that most were waived or not being reminded of a cancellation fee at all. I asked my therapist the best way to go about cancelling since I could not access my patient portal, and he told me not to worry, and since they were moving offices, they don't usually answer the phone. This is not a client issue, but a staff issue, so why a client should be monetarily penalized for it is beyond me. After some back and forth via email, I was told by one individual that given the circumstances, my bill amount would be waived. They zeroed my bill. The following day, Mikayla Handy of billing did not agree with that and decided to be petty and reinstate my bill amount, continuing to go back and forth with me. When patients request records, they also must receive them within 30 calendar days. On 12/11/24 via email, I requested for them to send me copies of anything I signed, and to this day, I have not heard back. Unsurprisingly and very unfortunately, I am not the only one that has been hit with these surprise fees. For my first appointment with Dr. Dobry, he no showed. I sat in the virtual waiting room for 45 minutes. The office admin told me to wait since "he's usually late." I am a mental health clinician myself and should have seen the rest flags the first time. It wasn't until I called that I was notified that he had another meeting to attend to. The second time, the rescheduled meeting, he also did not show up. I also was not notified by the office until I reached out myself. A therapy office that consistently does not show up for clients without communicating then tries to charge them for missing appointments that they made reasonable efforts to communicate regarding is beyond hypocritical. As a mental health provider, please take it from me - SEEK SERVICES ELSEWHERE. There are so many other agencies that will not potentially cause this level of harm and stress. They have now threatened to send me to collections even though they have proven to be unethical, unprofessional, and have yet to send me my requested documentation within the lawful timeframe. The BBB and Board and Psychology will be receiving reports about LGTC and I encourage anyone who has experienced similar to do the same. read more

I've had a very positive experience with LGTC. The last month of my life had a huge life-disrupting change, stripping me of stability and my ability to feel physically safe at work. My psychiatrist was able to accommodate me when I asked to an emergency reschedule, and was able to provide me with a note to help support my decision to leave my job as soon as possible. I have received excellent care from my psychiatrist from the start, and have been treated with professionalism and care. The billing department was also able to help me keep my appointment and continuity of care while I sort out the insurance issue after it was abruptly discontinued. My communications have been met with promptness, and those I have spoken to have been both kind and helpful. As a patient with severe ADHD, my personal experience with the LGTC has been extremely positive. My mental health brought me suffering every single day before I was able to address my ADHD. I've made leaps in progress with the tools and medication I have been treated with. My brain is never perfect with or without medication, but now I can push through most difficulties without the whole day being swallowed by paralysis. read more

I do not recommend this place. I left a previous review. LGTC called to try and "resolve" my double co-pay issue. They did not. I was told I would be charged a double co-pay from now on. When I started there, I had one co-pay. Now, out of the blue, I'm charged for 2. How dare they mess with patients care. I've been seeing my MD for almost 3 years, and now because I wasn't told up front that I'd be paying double, I will have to change doctors. The communication there is awful. read more

This company KEEPS EMAIL ME about an appointment scheduled, but I have never heard of this company. I have no idea how they've gotten my information and it seems like a complete scam. I've asked twice now to be removed and my information deleted, yet I'm still being emailed about a video appointment being scheduled. PLEASE STOP EMAILING ME - I NEVER SIGNED UP. This has happened 3 times now and they've yet to action. Here's hoping that this terrible review will get their attention. The NP is the only reason I come back to this place. I have never seen anything like this place. They will not respond to emails or any sort of communication and just hit you with all sorts of charges with no communications as to why. I have had an issue that has been dragging along for 2.5 years without any type of resolution from their end. I went without a prescription for over 3 months since the office was not responding to a form that they had requested for when a prescription is lost and returned to them. My NP was shocked at how they went about the situation and felt horrible. I could go on and on about separate issues that are all unexplainable. The office lacks transparency and proper communication. I was billed for two sessions when I had only one. Seems they charged my intake/consultation as a session. These charges were not stated anywhere in email or verbally mentioned via a phone call. The receptionist was polite, but ultimately unhelpful. LGTC did not take responsibility for their lack of transparency. It's not about the money. It's about the lack of communication and hiding charges. Additionally, the bill was charged 5 months after my session. The doctors/therapists are smart and helpful, but the way the office functions I would NOT recommend using this service. read more

My mental health feels worse at times because of all the stress LGTC puts me through. My psychiatrist is excellent at providing therapy, but every month there's seems to either be a human error or a system error in ordering my medication. I've tried three different pharmacies and each time the dx code is missing or the order was never sent. I've missed taking my medication on multiple occasions because of this. I have to split my pills because I know the following month my medication won't be ready due to human/system error. I sent a text to my psychiatrist saying a dx code wasn't sent on my medication on 12/21 and I was billed $100 for it. I've been billed incorrectly many times before in the past and every few months I receive a check because I was billed incorrectly. Also, why does LGTC make us send Zelle payments directly to our doctor if we miss our appointment? Whoever is billing the patients needs better training or needs that responsibility taken away from them. read more

This practice is nothing but hassles. I have a child who needs mental health care and this practice has been nothing but more hassles on top of an already frustrating path. They don't respond to messages, have rescheduled appointments 15 minutes after they were to begin and have billed for appointments where provider supposedly looked at files but did not respond to our questions so what exactly did they review?! We've tried more than one provider within this practice and we've had similar issues with all. Office staff is stuck placating for the providers and as soon as we can get our child setup elsewhere we will be done. If looking for a new provider I'd steer clear of this practice. read more

Please take caution here. Very expensive and not very helpful with medication management. The ineptitude has forced me to another Dr due to the fact that they can't seem to keep my prescriptions refilled and in order. They struggle responding to the patient portal messages when you're in need. For the past 2 years it's been a constant struggle to get my medication that I've been prescribed for over 20 years. It sad and pathetic that they would manage their patients this way. I can only hope more people read these reviews before they start down a very expensive and disappointing road that only leads to more stress and aggravation for something so basic and essential. This has been a truly terrible experience. The gal at the front desk is the prickliest, most uncaring face of a business that you could imagine. Literally could not care less. It's difficult to contact your care team, and even the smallest question about dosage is met with, "Schedule an appointment to talk about this." Because they want the money. Lots of billing errors, lots of unexplained charges, and not a word from your care team unless you are being billed for it. When I *have* spoken to my provider (while being charged, of course), she has suggested MANY different pills, as if going on and off mind-altering meds is my favorite thing. She is distracted, tells me about her life and vacations, but cuts me off if I say anything about myself. They have been the strangest interactions ever. I've given it over a year, and have absolutely hated this experience. I am done. read more

I wanted my mental needs resolved quickly, but it took time to get my meds correct. Nevertheless, throughout the difficult medication selection process, Doctor Kanchan stood resolved, she provided the right amount of care each month and she found the correct combination of medications to keep me balanced in life. I've worked with a few psychiatrists over my lifetime, and each doctor took a different approach towards resolving my needs, but only Doctor Kanchan was successful with helping me to live a more normal life. I am grateful for Meg Laurie's therapy service provided to my son. My son has been diagnosed with ADHD. Despite he has been taking medication for ADHD, he lost his self esteem, unwilling to try new things and always feeling anxious in school. Meg has managed to get through to him. After 3 sessions, he told me he liked to meet with Meg again. I also noticed his anxiety intensity and frequency had significantly reduced. By the end of 10 sessions, I began to see my son's attitude change gradually. He began to use other methods to vent his anger and gradually stopped yelling out of frustration at home. He gradually became more open to new activities. After 3 months of therapy services, my son has regained his confidence and he is interested to try new things. He doesn't want to go school, but he is eager to explore and learn. He is no longer fear of failure; he understands failure is part of learning experience. He no longer yell / throw things out of frustration; he will curse softly to vent his anger. I am grateful to see my son's gradual progress. It's all thanks to Meg's patience, friendliness, encouragement and support. Thank you. read more

The therapist have been very helpful but the billing department is horrible. They charge for sessions that aren't even held, they provide contradictory and wrong billing information, and refuse to be transparent about what is owed and what insurance has paid. Then they act indignant and give you the runaround when questioned. Due to unethical billing practices and lack of transparency I do NOT recommend using this service. read more

I tried scheduling an appointment for therapy (online on my health insurance portal it says they are accepting new patients and they are available within 5 days). This place has a TON of therapists. I called and they said they are not available for therapy sessions until june 2023... i thought this was very odd.. but they ARE available for psychiatric help. This place is horrible. It has intensified all my mental health issues. I've emailed support already and have never received a response. It took almost 4 appointments to get medical forms filled out. I spoke to at least 4 different admins who all gave me different directions. They each told me they sent my psychiatrist an "urgent message" and I never heard back to get some simple forms signed. My Psychiatrist Dr. Dobry, took about a month to fill out disability forms, and tells me that they "are not his priority because he is very busy". I feel horrible for the admins here because the doctors are such crap and put them in such horrible situations. (Side note: Mikayla, one of the admins here has been an angel, she needs a raise promotion and an award) My doctor is ALWAYS 15-20 minutes late for every virtual appointment. I've been coming here for 2 years now... I live in Oakland and have been forced to drive here twice for treatment that was not explained to me (from a $ perspective). To have forms filled they only will do physical forms instead of making it easier on the patient to fill forms digitally. (EDD) PLEASE take this advice... DO NOT COME HERE. Ask your insurance to remove them from in network. My insurance told me if they receive enough complaints the clinic can be dropped. Dr. Dobry saved my son's life and saved my whole family at the same time. We were in such a bad place with the onset of some serious mental health issues with my son. Apparently this can happen at his age, more common than I never knew. We found LGTC group and started with a therapist, we quickly were moved to Dr. Dobry. He was able to pinpoint the main issues and get the right medications for my son. It is a miracle. We moved from some very serious life threatening issues, to having my son back and the family back together. If I could award 100 stars, I would. Dr. Dobry is the best! read more

I have had nothing but issues with this group. I originally wanted to get a refill on my anxiety medication. They proceeded to pressure me in to taking anti depressants even though I did not want to. After taking them I started getting more anxious. When I brought this up I was told that was normal (shouldn't I have been told about that?). Every single time I go to the pharmacy I get denied because the group hasn't approved my prescription. Last week I requested a refill and was told to allow 2 days for the doctor to approve it. They haven't approved it yet and I'm now a week and a half off my meds and going through withdrawals. While pregnant might I add. I would encourage people to stay away. I came to LGTC as a referral from Kaiser. I had fairly low expectations based on past experiences. However, I was assigned the most amazing therapist and have been working with him for over one year now. I feel like i've made some huge strides with my mental health and anxiety bc of his help and guidance. My life has changed from a constant state of fear to one of joy and possiblities. I feel so empowered and strong now! obviously finding the right fit for a therapist is differnt for each person but Julius has truly enabled me to grow by giving me concrete tools that I am able to navigate and have more control over my own life. I have been coming here for several years and have watched the office transform for the better in a short time. They have a great team of doctors, who will go out of their way to help with finding the right, personalized solution for you and your specific needs, and then help you with any annoying approvals/paperwork required by the insurance companies. I was severely depressed and felt beyond hopeless and living felt like torture but after three months of treatment I feel like I can enjoy life and just normal. The staff is super nice as well. Ive been w/ LGPTG a few months. My first RNP, was amazing. A dream come true. She made me feel comfortable in telling her everything and anything regarding my struggles of mental health. I went to schedule a follow-up and she was on emergency medical leave until July. I came to her in desperation and need of help, but I tried very hard to hold out til July, but my spidey senses told me...she was never coming back. I'm a veteran with over 30 years of psychiatric care under my belt, I could also sense a flighty provider. I saw a doctor in between my wait with my doctor's return. She couldn't even personally connect to me by taking a compliment on her Zoom background. Without any soft skills, let alone a bedside manner, I went back to the group and said that I was very uncomfortable with this doctor placement. They had me fill out a form as to why I felt this way, email it to the "director/owner" and he would get back to me. He never did. They simply placed me with another provider that left before I could even be notified of the appointment. After so many cancelations & my sanity hanging on by a thread, the owner/director, Eugene, places me with this .... I really don't know what to say here because human being doesn't describe this supposed, barely educated doctor. I was bawling through my entire visit. She blamed me for being a terminal patient. She said I could call my pcp and demand a more functional wheelchair and she wouldn't let me explain all my dme equipment we've paid out of pocket for because no one one the west coast likes or knows how to write for dme equipment or as a terminal lung patient i wouldn't have a pediatric nebulizer!! Now she said to stop crying several times that there was no reason for my crying, "she wasn't abusing me and she wasn't going to tolerate the martyr card." And all the demands she made she never factored in my range of motion to get into said chair, to have lung function and stamina to push said chair... I know I'm a very educated individual, but so was Stephen Hawking. It still doesn't mean she recommended things that were dangerous to my life because she over talked me or told me to blatantly shut up through the whole visit. I haven't been talked to like this since I was a child!!! She didn't know i lose track of time & have needed to use state transportation to an appt. I forgot where I was until I was sitting in the backseat of a stranger's car not from Portland, where we lived, but from Washington!! We were lucky that ended semi-ok. And she wanted me to do this in a county made of SIX cities!! Now which one of us is delusional!? I am trying to learn how to accept a terminal diagnosis she is trying to pull me off medication I know is used for serious issues I developed permanently after Chantix. Deadly issues. She didn't even ask why I was on it. She bragged about taking off an elderly woman off of 40mg of Valium, I wondered then, but now reading these reviews, I wonder even more...how long did she live? Long term benzo usage & discontinue usage is possible but titration should be a case by case basis to prevent long term or permanent side effects like uncontrollable movements, change in personality, and more. And if you don't believe me, I explore you to look at Google scholar, and learn about fast titration or cold turkey side effects of long term benzos. I was even willing to sub it out for a nonaddictive gaba receptor to help with brain changes, etc gabapentin or gabatril. So when you're talking to someone who won't listen to reason, can't hear logic, can't understand empathy and why they should feel it, but also be able to look at someone and make a judgment and say, "no. I will not empathize or sympathize with you. You do not deserve it..." But also not work with you as a team, but against you and purposefully opposite of your own psychiatric goals. I would have hated to send my mother to this woman when we worked over 40 years to get her mental health treatment and agree to take medication. If she undid everything we just worked 4 decades to accomplish..shm Now they have my CARES report flagged and me cold turkey withdrawing from not just psych meds, but estrogen, synthroid, and many more because I have no PCP or psychiatrist to take me. My last recommendation was because withdraw was so bad from **all** of my medications, I seek end-of-life care... So much for POPPING WHEELIES IN MY NEW CHAIR, DR SHARMA...BECAUSE THE MEDICAL SIDE OF THINGS CALLED YOUR BLUFF BUT PUT ME IN THE MIDDLE... NOW WHO NEEDS A PSYCHIATRIST, SHARMA? EUGENE? BECAUSE I THINK YOU 2 COULD STAND A BIT OF SEROQUIL FOR THAT NARCISSIM OF YOURS!! read more
