Being able to pick up my (large) bakery order and not leaving someone disappointed at home makes me happy. Had my list of must haves. I meandered through all the departments. Wasn't on a time schedule. I spent 2 hours in the store. Found beautiful baby lamb chops. Filets were $6/lb cheaper than my grocery store. Bought beautiful endive. Had to bring home the red wine peppered salami. Coming home, opening the cooler, and handing out foodie presents is like Christmas morning. The oohs and aahs were heard at multiple houses. The staff were very helpful finding my treasures. Wegmans trips make traveling for business worth it.

I found it to be quite a good store, with everything you could want: my weird health-food desires like coconut flour and buckwheat groats (that I usually have to visit specialty stores for); pharmacy supplies; lots of pre-made food; diverse international offerings; plenty of organic and pre-cut produce; flowers, etc. Despite it being my first time, I was able to navigate it without too much difficulty. When they were out of green onions, a friendly worker was able to refill the bin quickly for me (and direct me to the spacious, clean bathrooms). They have tons of checkout lines, only a couple were open with humans; and they have lots of self-checkout too. I mean, it's just a grocery store, but it's a pretty good one!

My only complaint would be I regularly end up buying out of date soda. I know it is the Pepsi vendor who is responsible, but the management should also be checking dates regularly and have the company remove expired product as it does lose a good bit of quality. Recently got an April dated soda here in June.

Honestly I don't think much has changed inside looks wise, maybe the signage, but everything else looks retro like. The store has a small layout. With that being so the selection of products is limited to what can be put on the shelves. You have to remember that this isn't your big box store. There are some national products that can be found on the shelves, but you get a lot of the store label or generic products here. Nothing wrong with that, I in fact had bought these off brand products while I was here. It saved me a few bucks for every day items. We winded our way around the store, up and down every aisle. Did not take long at all. Found what I needed and waited for my family to finish up. This shares a plaza with a few other establishments. Allowing for a shared parking lot that has more than enough space for parking.

Apparently, it is owned by Giant and operates stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. This grocery store had the typical departments that most grocery stores have, but I felt very pleased with the large selection of products and the low prices. I also noticed a sign that said that employees start at an hourly wage of $15 per hour, so I feel happy that the employees are paid well above minimum wage. My cashier was nice and accurately rang up my items, but she was also emotionally withdrawn because apparently a previous customer had been mean to her. But I understand the situation, and I liked how two other employees were team-oriented and were empathizing with her. Finally, I saw a robot that was searching for spills and other hazards--how fun!

The last time I shopped my order was over $250 and I saved $80. That more than made up for the gas my car used in the trip to the store. However, after viewing my receipt I found a purchase I didn't recognized. I looked up the abbreviation and discovered it was for firewood. Huh? I didn't purchase firewood which cost 8.79. And I didn't even get the firewood. Well, I guess that takes care of the cost of the gas used to get there. Then I thought I would look at the rest of the purchases on the receipt. I noticed that I paid full price for the salmon that was on clearance. That was another $6.03 extra I paid for. But never mind, I still saved. Just not as much as I thought and I learned a lesson. Always watch to screen when checking out. Or at least look over the receipt before leaving the parking lot. One last thing that I should mention. The cashier was top notch, on the ball. Excellent service.
