I absolutely loved Lewis's having known him personally for a quite a few years now, I haven't been to the cafe until quite recently. It's a great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Tea and coffee and other beverages are also served. It's a quaint little cafe in the heart of Moseley. Cate the waitress, had served us and she was absolutely fantastic. She spoke to us about cafe and how they are updating the menu very soon. The food is cooked and prepared as a high standard using locally sourced ingredients. The coffee is very good here too. Also I love the decor it's very hopefully put together also love the way the windows open at the front to let fresh air inside the shop. If you're lucky on a Saturday or Sunday morning you can park your car outside the cafe.

Lewis's is a new addition to Moseley's' fine array of independent stores. This delicatessen and provincial grocers has not been open long, yet its selection of fine foods keeps on growing by the day, and I for one am addicted to shopping here. At Lewis's you will be greeted by the friendly and knowledgeable Lewis, the owner and a fine food connoisseur. He will quite happily advise customers on the origins and use of certain foods for sale. The shop also makes use of the web for its business and can be found on line at its own web page, Twitter and facebook. The selection of artisan baked loaves of bread are simply stunning and as soon as you walk through the door, the homely smell of bread will hit you with an assault on the senses. The pre made sauces on offer, range from Italian to Thai and make a perfect foundation for a hearty meal. And let's not forget the fruit and veg on offer. It is at its very freshest, a far cry from the awful mass produced fruit and veg offered by the chain supermarkets. With summer finally approaching I'd recommend popping into Lewis's for your ingredients for that special romantic dinner for two or for a large social gathering with a meal. Some of the prices on dried pasta are comparable to supermarkets, however this pasta is imported from Italy and like all food from Lewis's, you can taste and see the difference.

Lewis's is a quaint local coffee shop in Mosley that offers up a fantastic breakfast selection all day on the weekends. I haven't been there for lunch before, but the menu certainly makes it look good. In terms of breakfast, they offer a fairly standard selection of options (including 3 versions of Eggs Benedict), but they do them all extremely well. I got the Eggs Benedict with bacon. The eggs yolks were silky when I cut into them and the hollandaise sauce was made just right. It wasn't overpowering, nor was the whole thing drenched in sauce, both of which I've had happen at other places. I recommend you check Lewis's out!

For years Nima Delicatessen has had the monopoly on deli business in Moseley. Not no more! I don't know how long it's been there, but Lewis's seems to have sprung up in the last few weeks to cater for the increasing influx of well-monied, young things as Moseley continues its gentrification. I ask the owner, 'So, Nima's got a bit o' competition now, eh?', and bless him, the chap looks ever so slightly offended and a bit hurt. And he's right to. Both delis each offer something quite unique and different, and I'd be surprised if there is a common item that both of them stock. Nima has a Mediterranean slant, (the owners are from Sicily after all), with falafel mixes and the like, whereas Lewis's has a more English/French slant with bright, thin, leafy organic carrots and some left-field cheeses on offer. I'd say there's a tenners' worth or more of anyone's money that's worth spending in both.

Lewis's is such a lovely brunch/lunch/coffee spot in Moseley. It's a small, homey deli and cafe with just enough tables, and incredibly friendly staff. A lot of thought is put into sourcing the products and ingredients on the menu. They have tremendously good coffee, amazing sourdough bread, and perfectly poached eggs. If you want a fantastic breakfast, go here!

Lewis's is hardly a secret locally. Visit on a weekend morning and be prepared to wait for a table, for here is probably the best breakfast in the city. Homemade baked beans see pulses long simmered in a tomato sauce spiked with hot paprika and dotted with brindisa chorizo that laughs in the face of its cheaper versions. Underneath toasted sour dough soaks up the good bits, whilst a poached egg adds further luxury. I could eat this everyday and not get bored. I may actually try. By the way you can buy the chorizo whilst you wait. And so you should, its a cracker. A brunch dish had another poached egg atop of griddled halloumi, spinach, and tomato. This time toasted bread was present not to soak up the juices but to give texture. It was a phallic shaped pepper grinder away from transporting me back to the Mediterranean last summer, where they share the ethos of a few ingredients of high quality sitting on a plate together and making perfect sense. More of this approach was present in a salad of roasted beets, sweet potato and goats cheese. Pumpkin seeds add crunch, rocket gives gentle pepper notes. Its earthy, fresh and seasonal A special saw eggs benedict given a shake-up, with serano ham and a truffled hollandaise in place of the usual suspects. I am not usually a fan of anyone messing with classics, though here it made sense, making it equally lighter and more luxurious. Espresso from Monmouth Coffee Company is predictably brilliant and more than makes up for the lack of booze.

Called into Lewis for brunch a while ago. I've heard lots of reviews and was excited to try it. When we got there and read the menu I was a little disappointed as I wanted more choice at the time. However, I did have pancakes with yogurt, figs and pecans in the end with maple syrup. They were really nice and my boyfriend had the salmon&eggs which he really enjoyed. The lady who served is was really nice but I didn't feel wowed after my experience, maybe as we were rushing to go elsewhere or the lack of choice that day as what I originally wanted couldn't be made as they hadn't he ingredients.

I wanted to take my friend out for lunch but we were having a difficult time in Moseley as he can only eat gluten free. We came across Lewis' and they had an amazing potato gnocchi which was of course gluten free. I had the sour dough bread and gorgeous poached eggs. It was perfect. We also ordered the fruit tea which was really fragrant. I would definitely recommend Lewis'.

A small flat white and small cappuccino for £6 total is a rare find these days and we both loved our drinks. So much flavour and nice, strong coffee. My only reason for giving 4 stars is that the layout was a bit cramped and it was slightly lacking in customer service. If you're just popping in for a takeaway coffee though, this is a fab spot.

I knew I'd love this place as when I walked in, the smell of roasting coffee flew into my nostrils, Faculty literally had me at hello. So more about this love affair, the coffee is brilliant, the cakes taste fantastic and the tea is a relaxing and soothing as the cute little tea pot suggests. The staff working were friendly and happy to offer advice (to me and another customer who had 21 questions about the origin of the coffee) - credit where credits due, the young chap answering knew the answer to every question! They are also linked to next door, a sandwich shop which is perfect for lunch and you can even order from one side and go and sit in the other or vice versa. Owned by the same husband & wife partnership and matched with the same awesome decor. It's not often I'm in Birmingham but one thing for sure is this fling is sure to continue every time I venture in!

The owner was super nice and loved my kinda American accent even though he thought I was Australian at first..lol.. I asked if they had scones and he said yes! With clotted cream and jam and fresh strawberries he asked....yes ! I said. Perfect mid morning snack in England. It looked amazing and boy have I missed these . I also got a nice cappuccino made with their mild roast and it was so perfectly brewed. I should be having tea with a scone but I could pass up the freshness of the coffee The scone was delicious, the cream was nice and rich and the jam was not jelly! I loved the fresh strawberries on top too. Ate every bit of this up. The Brit's do scones the best. The cafe was a lovely local place with a nice breakfast menu with basics and some other desserts. Just a lovely place to get a strong brew and a traditional scone! Just what I was looking for.

It is pretty cosy inside but that adds to the charm. As the name suggests the coffee is wonderful as well. I've visited for afternoon tea and cake too which were great value. The business also provides a tea and coffee emporium stocking everything for the caffeine lover. They also have a car park to the rear which is extremely helpful when driving to Shirely.
