Our experience with this company has been atrocious so far. After being sitting tenants for 6…read moremonths they now wish to charge us £95 to renew our contract for another 6 months. My partner (and joint tenant) has tried to call the office SEVERAL times over 2 days to speak to James, our property manager, regarding this fee, only to be told on each and every occasion he is busy and will call him back. Not ONCE did James call back. I decided to walk into the office to speak to James myself and lo and behold, he was available. I asked him what the £95 fee was for. We wish to renew the tenancy for the next 6 months and find being charged nearly £100 for the privilege, quite frankly terrible. I was told it was 'Admin' fees. The mysterious miscellaneous 'Admin' fees. Yeah so basically £95 to print out some A4 sheets of paper with new dates on them. I called him out on it and then was told it was the condition of the landlords Buy To Let (BTL) mortgage that meant the £95 charge applied. So, a Buy To Let mortgage has in its Ts & Cs that a tenant has to pay £95 to renew their lease? I told James I found this hard to believe and didn't believe that BTL mortgages worked in this manner. He also clarified that this charge only applies to the tenants and not the landlord. We feel we have been BADLY misled by Martin & Co regarding others fees also. Before we took out this tenancy, my partner asked SEVERAL times if there would be any additional fees. THREE different people told him no, but the day before we signed up, we were told we had to pay £70 'Tenancy Liability Insurance'. NO mention of this during the sign up process AT ALL. We find their customer service shocking, apart from the reception girls who were courteous and professional, today when I walked in to speak to James. My partner has also found the girls nice to deal with. It's basically the incompetent property manager that we are having major issues with as he does not take ANY calls from us and seems to want to blow smoke up my a$$ when I spoke to him about this 'Admin fee' that makes no sense and was NEVER discussed with us until the last minute. We will NEVER EVER Use this company again. Look at the other reviews here and you will get a feel for them and other people's reasons to also avoid them. Studio 100. High speed wifi = 3mbps = SLOW. You cannot advertise 'high speed wifi' if that is not…read morewhat is provided regardless of available service in the area. Also the end of January is not really 'after christmas' as was suggested. Not clean on arrival and after promising a cleaner, one never came. Two weeks of repairs whilst I was paying to live there. A painter came unannounced, covering everything in dust and causing the flat to be cleaned again. Less than 24 hours notice for viewings which is not 'reasonable notice'.

MBA Lettings is extremely slow and inefficient. We were supposed to move in on the 1st of July and…read morethough we are living in the house now, halfway through the year, they still seem to be struggling to provide us with everything that should have been there when we moved in (eg. chairs, a bag in the vacuum cleaner etc etc.) The cleaners came to clean the house of the previous tenants' things AFTER the start date of our contract and cleaned the house over summer. Though this is what we were told, the house was very dirty when we moved in at the end of summer, in september, and we had to do the cleaning on our own anyway. On many instances, MBA had to be continually contacted to do certain things that should've been done in the first place (like cleaning the previous tenants' grease and grill pans off the inside of the oven, repair broken and dirty fittings etc.), over months (some of these have still not been done). A fire exit has been built only recently but it is of absolutely no practical use. We have also begun to have viewings in our house for next year's sale, without being given any prior notice that we would have people just coming into our house and MBA insist on keeping a set of keys to our house with themselves. We don't have bills included so i don't know how well they do on that aspect but, I would not recommend them to anyone.
