My MD, Jason Short, was a good enough guy, but I can no longer abide with the ridiculous wait times at this location. Today, I was scheduled for a 2:50 appt, they took be back around 3:05, and I was still sitting in the exam room waiting for a physician at 3:50. This is completely unacceptable. I understand that physicians get behind for a myriad of reasons, but if they are running late, the office should give you a call and let you know so you have the option to reschedule. This is not a unique circumstance, although it is the longest. I have been made to wait for inordinately long periods of time many times over the years. No longer. I do not recommend NSFM. It seems as though they are more focused on patient volume than patient satisfaction.

While I try to downplay these appointments (having had them every three years!), they're never exactly fun and yet your team consistently makes the entire process feel comfortable and reassuring. From the kind receptionist who patiently explained the paperwork, to Mary in pre-op who took the time to walk me through everything and put me at ease, to the nurses who cared for me so warmly and seamlessly every interaction reflected genuine kindness. Even with so many patients moving through each day, your office never feels impersonal. That really stands out. I especially appreciated my doctor checking in multiple times to reintroduce himself and make sure I felt informed and comfortable. Thank you all for the compassion and professionalism you show. They are on top of my health and my kids, they go to the root problem before offering pills (hard to find that) and they care about my kids and myself and our health. They evaluate our whole selves (family history, nutrition, physical exercise, and our biology). I have always gotten right in and labs or scans done if needed right away. Quite a pleasant and considerate man and he even answered my questions about other issues not part of the DOT exam. The office environment and the staff seem to cater to families and I as I left, I remember thinking if I lived in Lynden, I would ask Dr. Dickson to be my primary care physician. I don't do many reviews except for the extremely bad and the really good experiences. This was a really good one.

Everything afterward, from the surgery prep to the aftercare was provided clearly and courteously. When I went in for surgery, I was nervous and a little scared. That said, I can't begin to tell you how helpful it was to have staff people who were kind and fun. It just made my heart happy.
