Dr. Stein didn't just accept the false positive, she contacted the radiologist and reviewed my scans several times, until acceptance was the only option. She is very busy, as Oncology are her other patients. So she may run late because others may have more issues as they fight for their lives. I personally am fine with that. When meds were only partially doing what they are designed to do, she picked up the phone to discuss adding another med to see if the overall effects could improve over the next month. I have been lucky, after leaving NMH for 10 years, I found my way back for several great Dr.'s that truly care and want to help people. Thanks Doc!

Many women usually don't choose male gynies, for any number of reasons (The Hand That Rocks The Cradle didn't help this cause). To me, Dr. Hite is such a professional, that you don't even realize he's male. Yes, he looks at vajays all day, and he's a man, but it's his job. If you can move past it, you'll really enjoy having him as a doctor. He's is a no B.S. kind of doctor, who uses humor to alleviate any un-comfortablenesses you might feel. He has excellent bedside manner and always makes you feel as calm as possible. He is thorough, and always makes a point to ask how your personal/professional life is going. If you walk in with an issue, serious or not, you will leave feeling 100% times better. He's just that good!

It's obvious he cares, which is pretty important when dealing with patients who are suffering from chronic pain. He's friendly and takes the time to explain each and every medication he prescribes. While Dr. Chang is amazing, his front desk staff leaves much to be desired. I don't want to go into details with that, but I will say that Dr. Chang is worth the hassle that his front desk staff creates.

Dr. Chang first performed the fluoroscopy-guided dye injection into my hip for an arthrogram, and was polite, concerned, and extremely gracious when he learned that I was mistakenly quoted a significantly lower self-pay cost than the normal charge for the second procedure he performed (diagnostic fluoroscopy-guided anesthetic injection into my hip bursa), and even offered to include cortisone in the injection at no additional cost to try and help relieve my hip pain. I was also impressed with his nurse, Irene, who went out of her way to help me find the Lincoln Park clinic where the second procedure was performed, and where they fit me in at the last minute so I could try and have some pain relieve before I went on a long-planned vacation. All and all, I can't recommend Dr. Chang highly enough. I am considering becoming a regular patient to treat my fibromyalgia, since I know he'll do a great job--and I kind of owe him the money! ;-)

As someone who has struggled with migraines for over a decade, at this point not much is new or unknown about my situation. But when I moved to Chicago, I had to start the process all over again with "getting to know" a doctor and explaining my history. I appreciate that he really engaged that, asked the questions he felt were important, and worked with me to alter my treatment where I wanted to. Overall, we are getting to a better place with my chronic condition and I appreciate his patience! My only negative comment - and I didn't knock off stars for him for this -- is for the very unreliable office staff. I don't know if this is because there are multiple offices, and you never know who you will get at the front desk in the Loop, but I've definitely not had the best experience on that front. When I needed to schedule an MRI, it was the WORST and I was treated rudely. But, overall, not a reason to avoid a doctor I like.
