Tell you what, this is the next food craze for local fashionistas & hipsters who want to throw away…read morea bit of their bucks. After so many types of food & drink fevers that attacked these folks' brains in 2015/16 (a truly endless list, some worth it, some forgettable, some already dead), now comes the "galette bretonne", a whole wheat crêpe with classic and creative ingredients from the north of France. I went for classic (raclette cheese, smoked ham and egg). Good but nothing to tear your hair out. My friend had one with a few strips of smoked salmon and way too many cherry tomatoes. The combo cheese tomatoes smoked salmonAfter removing most of the tomatoes, she was left with 1/3 of galette to eat. The cheese platter had 4 miserable portions of French cheese which I can buy at specialized markets (or just Carrefour) anywhere in town. Galettes at €13, one shared cheese platter and barely half a liter of cider for €7...we ended up paying €25 each, which I consider obscene for the place (no bigger than a coffee shop, no tableware, 8 tiny tables at the most, 4 nosy stuck up bitches almost sitting on our laps & asking questions about our dishes getting incinerated by my dirty looks...). Not a comfortable experience and high prices won't have me coming for a looong time. Up to you now to get fu@ked up.

I showed up sweaty and smelly in a T-Shirt lugging my travel backpack with my phone at 4% battery…read moreand expecting an important call. The staff was incredible, they checked my bag into the closet, and offered me a table near a power outlet so I may charge my phone. Then offered me some wine to relax a little. For some reason they seemed to be able to figure out what I was thinking along with what I wanted. After enjoying some champagne and choosing the appropriate wine pairings I began to order my meal. Due to time constraints and not wanting to miss the last train to vercelli, I opted to order Ala Carte Items instead of doing a full tasting. If I am back, I will definitely opt for a tasting. Of course I had to try the fried pizza as Roberto himself was from Napoli. He really did pay respect to neopolitan cuisine with that pizza. The gluten strands were just perfectly developed in that. The squid ink made it amazing. I also loved the story telling aspect of dinner, this was an amazing experience. The attentive service, the amazing dishes and the elegance of the venue. My nice and quiet dinner in milan after a long day of walking all over the city. Unfortunately I got caught in a thunderstorm while trying to head back, 30 minutes of walking through torrential downpour with nothing but a toolbox to keep me dry and I still missed the last train to vercelli. But other than that, this was totally worth it. Dont ask me why I stayed in vercelli.

If I didn't have a prior excellent experience I'd probably give 3*. The ambiance is very nice, very classic Milanese bar/pasticceria with a lot of history. The staff is very formal, not very welcoming, but not rude. Just cold. The espresso drinks were ok, coffee taste was not the best around but whatever. We got two mini sfogliatelle with cream. The custard cream was amazing as I remembered, if that was the only thing I got from this place, I'd give it 10*. The shell of the sfogliatelle was sub optimal, kind of tough to bite and somewhat stale. I scooped up all the cream filling and left the shell behind, not pleasant. A bit pricey, but that's to be expected, we sat down and it's in an expensive area of Milan. If you're craving cream, definitely go and get a cream croissant.
