Ken McNeil is a first class advocate for men needing advice on divorce proceedings or…read morerepresentation in court. My wife and I recently worked through a legal separation proceeding using solely her lawyer (Abby Family Law) to file the documents and present our final pleading and division of the property agreement to the Washington County District Court. Ken listened to me from the first call about how we wanted to try this unorthodox approach to a mutual settlement without incurring duplicate legal costs and performed wonderfully from beginning to end. Having Ken available as I needed for: advice, reality checks, information about the proceedings and to review the documents, gave me good piece of mind and helped keep our mutual legal costs to a minimum. Ken helped me to keep my worry and stress level low so I could concentrate on the critical aspects of my negotiations and final agreement. I would recommend him to anyone in search of legal services as a lawyer that listens and will do their legal and ethical best to help you stay on the right path towards your desired resolution.

I'm sure there are a zillion choices out there for legal represenation. About 5 years back Laura handled my divorce. Looking back I'll admit, I was a mess. She guided me through the process with professionalism and genuine care. She took the time to hear my concerns and ultimately helped settle the case without having going to trial. That in itself was a miracle -- but she got it done. I was grateful! Second experience for me came after I found myself needing to seek full time custody of my 3 children. I engaged Laura and her team again. I felt my situation was very complicated.. It really was. However she has the ability to cut right through to the core issues and doesn't waver or get side tracked. She lead the settlement negotiations with the opposing lawyer and she was clearly in control. I liked that she keeps an eye on efficiency. I never really felt that she wasted time. Remember, time = money with lawyers. Ultimately we prevailed and settled without having to go to trial a second time. (Laura made that happen). People reading my experience need to realize that when you find yourself in a tough situation, you need an advocate that will really truly understand your present and future needs (read: custody, visitation, child support, holiday schedules, etc) and get you a resolution that you works for YOU! Laura achieved that for me twice. She and her team are seasoned professionals. I'm grateful they have the real world experience needed to get me results. Two thumbs up! Highly recommend.

When he had a suggested course of action, he laid everything out and even gives you his very best guess of each outcome, with context. Tom explained each and every part of the process... and he did it without ever being disingenuous with billing. His assistant Alex is warm and inviting as well as efficient. Alex was always communicative when Tom wasnt able or necessary. Tom was so good, cordial and timely that even the opposition preferred to communicate with him instead of their own counsel, and fired them. Tom won my case the very best it could and it was because of the legal maneuvers he suggested. It delayed the outcome, it costed almost twice as much as expected... and Tom explained each and every reason why things resulted as such. We won, I got exponentially more time with my daughter. Tom is a man of his word and if you dont hire him right now, theres a chance youll see him at the other side's table... and I promise you, that is not an opponent you want to have.

This is regarding one of their attorneys-Jeffrey Frasier!…read moreWhen my husband first contacted Jeff Frasier about our situation, Jeff told us that "we have a strong case." Based on the information and confidence he provided during that initial phone call, we decided to move forward with him. Unfortunately, we were led on for nearly two years before going to trial. Throughout that time, Jeff repeatedly told us that we would "get something" from the case. He continued contacting us by phone and email asking for additional information about the situation, and we continued being billed for his time. Nearly a year after the lawsuit began, we met with him once to go over what to expect with the arbitration process. As someone with no prior experience suing anyone or dealing with attorneys, I relied heavily on my attorney to properly prepare and guide us. Unfortunately, that meeting left me with even more questions and did not make me feel prepared for what was ahead. Jeff then sent a junior attorney to handle the arbitration. In our experience, she appeared inexperienced and unprofessional. She essentially sat in the room with us during the arbitration, and we were billed for her time and presence, which was very concerning to us. After nearly two years of legal bills, we finally went to trial. Unfortunately, Jeff did not appear prepared or knowledgeable about our case. During the trial, he stumbled through his presentation and became frustrated. At one point, the judge even told him that he was repeating himself. On the second day of trial, the judge issued a directed verdict, meaning the judge ruled in favor of the other side because our side had not presented enough evidence to support our claim. The outcome was extremely devastating, especially after being told at the beginning that we had a "strong case." After nearly two years, substantial legal fees, stress, and time invested in this case, we were left feeling that we had not received the preparation, guidance, or representation we expected from our attorney. In the end, we walked away with absolutely nothing--except huge legal bills. I am sharing our experience because potential clients deserve to hear what our experience was like before deciding whether to hire Jeff Frasier. Based on our experience, we do not recommend him.

Received several letters in the mail from lawyers soliciting their services. We chose to contact…read moreNicole because her website shows her having experience with landlord retaliation. However, we were disappointed when she was only interested in representing us on a claim for defective service of the notice, even though we can prove the house is an illegal rental, is uninhabitable, and landlord retaliation. She responded: "I may be able to represent you on a defective notice. However, at this time, I am not willing to represent you on any of the other claims or defenses you may have for eviction case." I emailed back trying to verify how the service was defective and also confirming that if she represented us at our first appearance (mediation), since we have to file an answer same day, if she only represented us based on improper service we wouldn't be able to bring up our retaliation claim. She responded: "As I told you in my previous email, you may have a claim for defective service of the notice. It appears you want to bring up additional defenses/countercliams. As I have said in my previous email, I am not willing to represent you on these additional defense/counterclaims. Please contact another attorney if you are still looking for assistance." After sending pictures of the notice we received in the mail and her asking me *twice* how it was served, she should have been able to tell me if it was in fact defective service. I mean, this isn't rocket science folks! The laws are pretty clearly written and any knowledgeable lawyer should know this immediately. We were fully prepared to pay a retainer for her services if she chose to represent us, even though it appears her services are "free" to clients and payment comes from the landlord. It seemed like she was lazy and only wanted to represent us on an easy claim. We will pay to have a real lawyer represent us. I do not recommend her services and do not appreciate her wasting my time. Do yourself a favor a hire a real lawyer - not one of these contingency lawyers. You get what you pay for.
