I have always been interested in learning to play guitar and when I was 42 I decided to give it a try. I learned some basic chords through an online site and then took lessons in person with an instructor in the San Diego area. I learned more chords, some rhythm stuff, and parts of some songs, but I became discouraged. I quit lessons and just tinkered here and there as a hobby for about 8 years. My wife found David Randle online, and this past Christmas (2019) she surprised me with a block of 4 lessons. She has since told me that she knew how important learning guitar was to me, and after all this time I guess she was tired of seeing me frustrated (and I am not getting any younger). I would basically noodle around a couple nights a week and play a few chords before bed. In the very first lessons, David gave me a big-picture of how the guitar and fretboard really works, and so much more. It was a light bulb moment that I wish would have happened years ago. I have continued my lessons past the initial block and am very pleased with everything. He has been very flexible with scheduling and even does lessons via Skype.

I have been playing for years, mostly by ear, and haven't been able to progress past a handful of simple chords. David's personal approach, humor, experience, and extensive knowledge in how to teach any level of student put me back in the driver's seat with my guitar! He covered fingerpicking in our first lesson and I learned more in that time with David than I have with any other music instruction. I can't say enough good things about his approach to teaching. If you're hesitant about beginning lessons or just want to improve your current skills, you can't go wrong with David. He truly is a guitar lesson expert. Highly recommended.

They charge weeks in advance for the following month, they text, call and email asking the same questions about how many lessons my daughter is taking, has taken, her schedule. But trying to get a response from them was impossible. The first was an email I sent they took a full YEAR and two weeks to reply to. I've asked countless times for a copy of the contract policies, payments etc. I have still never received it. I checked online and cannot find the current address. All emails are bouncing back to me as server rejected. No replies to texts. Their charges have gone up and up with no explanation, charging random dates, sometimes multiple times per month all with zero communication. I emailed to cancel and got a bounce back. Texted, no response. Called, no answer. We had to go to the bank to get charges disputed and payments stopped. I checked and the license number listed on their website isn't actually a business license number. I checked out the Secretary of State and their business license is currently suspended and has been since 2002, shortly after establishment. I will also notify the Dept of Consumer Affairs and BBB. Please BEWARE before you decide on going with this company and definitely before giving them your banking information.

Each lesson focuses on a different aspect of the pieces each student is working on. This helps each student fine-tune how they perceive their timing, fingering, speed, etc. I like the slow, focused, practical approach detail. It breaks it down so the students can focus on just one thing at a time without getting overwhelmed. Ms Bella teaches both traditional piano theory as well as the Suzuki Method. We've just started the Suzuki approach which focuses on listening to simple tunes with very distinct patterns and then being able to replicate them- a very different approach that is great for auditory learners. It's only been a couple months, but I am very grateful for our lessons so far!
