It's a very unique store that I came upon across. I love retro video games but I don't play video games any more but this place can bring me back to my youth! The issue is that the games are generally pricey because they really don't make much of the games anymore. They got many things they sell video game wise but I'm not to sure if they sell PC games. The prices are expensive! They even got modern games they sell by the front door. Definitely not a bad place to check out. read more

I have been coming here since I was 12 years old, used to sell them my DS games for far better of a price than GameStop would ever give me. I came in today to do some Christmas shopping and ended up just having a really good talk with the guy behind the counter, after hearing I was looking for something for my girlfriend, he gave me an item they were unable to sell to give it to her. Their customer service and dedication to gaming is TOP NOTCH. I was drawn to Level One Games several years ago when the owner gave away modified consoles in a video contest that was just for fun! I really enjoyed my interaction and have followed them ever since. They are always keen to post any new additions to the store on their Facebook page, so locals can scoop up some really cool and sometimes really rare games and systems. The store is somewhat small, but the selection is great. On my first visit, I picked up Silpheed in nearly mint condition- this is an ancient game for the Sega CD, one I thought I'd never see again, let alone so well preserved- for only $10. Not every game case is in such original condition, but that's expected considering some are over a decade or two old. Their stock covers many console generations, and the prices are all very fair- most of the older games I checked were at or under $10, with rarer/higher quality items stored behind the counter upwards of at least $25. The consoles themselves are also sold, as well as many of the attendant accessories, and there is even a display of custom consoles: Portables, paint jobs, and case mods (There was a GameCube in an AT-AT on my last visit). There's a wall of DVDs, but I didn't give enough of an inspection to rate them. I'll be returning regularly to see if they've acquired anything new for the Dreamcast, Sega CD, or anything obscure. Level One Games is an extremely fortunate find, but one that's easy to miss because of the small size and location, tucked away at one end of the Tuttle mall. If you're a vintage collector, nostalgic, or just after a more varied and better priced selection than Gamestop, start at Level One. read more

Great service! Genuinely cares about the customer and wants you to get the best deal possible! In was in last night and a customer wasn't watching her kid and an expensive item was almost destroyed. She was very rude yo the employee and he stood up for the stores property ! Afterwards he turned right around and gave me exceptional customer service. Even referring me to other places to get items they didn't have. Don't let these negative people on here turn you away from Level One Games. I literally just called in to see if they had the new classic nes system. Wow, I was blown away by how horrible the guy treated me for just asking a simple question. He said they did not get any of them in. I asked him if he may know of places that may have had them. He told me to call other places, and I was wasting his time. Due to his behavior in school My son (8yrs) and I came in to return 2 of 3 pre-played games..We had the receipt and warranty info in hand...games we perfectly fine and in working conditions as he only had them for a week...to which I was told 'pre-played games can only be returned for In-store credit no cash back'.. I asked To see where that verbiage was In their policy? Because I hadn't read that on the Receipt and Warranty and Return Info they supplied...with uncertainty I was referred to line #3 which reads in bold RED lettering "Defective Items will be exchanged for the same product, an item of equal value if out of stock, or the amount of the defective item in credit for later use. No Refunds" Confused as to what that statement had to do with the situation at hand I replied 'these items aren't defective....so tell me why I can't get my cash refunded?" Unable to explain the clerk called Drake Roman (Owner) and asked him for the policy on Returns...Drake replied with '15 Days On returns and exchanges with receipt"...the clerk asked Drake "what about pre-played games?"...with pause And thought drake offered Instore credit to which I frustratingly declined and again asked 'Where in the policy does it state I can't get a cash refund for preplayed games?" Drake hung up the clerk said Drake would be In the following day and advised I come speak to him personally and I agreed...I showed up the next day and to make a long story short Drake had mall security on standby when I arrived...I posed the same question to him to his face and he still referred me to #3 stating that it's "semantics" and that the " No Refunds" part of that paragraph (#3 On their Warranty and Return Info) is an umbrella statement!??! And that I should be greatful they even offered me an exchange or instore credit...too which I became fustrated,angry, and insulted (especially him trolling my FB page and calling me by my Stage Name all Because my mother and I left him a bad review on his FB business page then asked her if she knew what a 'period' was used for) too make a long story short I tried to whoop his Ass and ended up being escorted out of the mall. Dear Drake Roman...Most people either lie or steal you do both...and that's not good..not in life nor business...personally nor professionally. Treated really well, things can be a bit pricey, but they mostly sell merch associated with different popular culture games, so it's kinda expected. I bought a replacement lime green Nintendo Switch bcontroller and an Ocarina replica and was very satisfied with both. The controller was labeled as used, but was in great condition. When I do visit the mall, I always like to pop in and see what they have. read more

Great experience. Owner is knowledgable and has a great stock of games for the systems I own. I had a DS that I rarely played and brought in the games I had to trade for a Pokemon game. First experience with my DS where I didn't want to put it down!! Had a blast trading in some games for a new Xbox one a while back and will return when I need to trade more in. Super fair pricing and trade in values. I shopped them against game stop and received a better value for the trade in at Level One. ALSO- great merchandise available at the store (gamer jewelry, nerd stuff). I always stop by when I am at the mall and usually leave with one or two new fun things. read more

Best Video Game Store in Central Ohio hands DOWN! Not only do they have a seemingly endless supply of classic games, they have a lot of reasonably priced modern games, and reproduction carts of hard to find games to boot! Years ago I happened upon this store and was treated with so much respect even though I was a snot nosed know it all 15 year old. Muzz held a very informative conversation with me and I left there with a new outlook on what a video game store should be like. My 6 year old son wanted to go in and look at the car games, the guy behind the counter didn't acknowledge us until my son bumped their PLASTIC gum ball machine and it wobbled. At that point he acted like the world was crumbling around him and acted like a complete idiot. I told him he needed to chill and he proceeded to argue with me like a baby. The games in this store were EXTREMELY over priced. Not just by a couple dollars either. There is a Gamestop right across the street, so there is plenty of competition and no need to justify the high prices. I do not know how they sell anything. I brought in a whole bag of stuff, some of them were even Xbox One and PS4 titles and get this....I was offered $12.50. Yes...for real. The guy working there was screwing around on his phone and ignored me the whole time I was in there. None of the games were priced and half the stuff was stacked up in a huge mess behind the counter, you couldn't even look through anything. The few prices I did see were well above ebay prices. I've been shopping at this store since before they moved their location to Tuttle and I've always had great experiences when the owner is there. They have a wide variety of games and are very knowledgeable. I did go in one time when the owner wasn't there and the employee at the desk was helping me. Great store. The staff and owner are always kind and respectful. I had an old n64 system that I thought was broken and was going to trash. The owner told me to bring it in and at worst he could give me a couple bucks for parts. Well I took the system in and another employee took a look at the games and system I had. After inspection he said I think I know what your issue is and started cleaning one of my old games with some q-tips and rubbing alcohol and after a minute and hooking up the system boom my games and system was working again. He explained that it wasn't my system and that my cartridges were just dirty and how to clean them. Thanks to level one games I was able to keep my n64 and now can enjoy my childhood favorite games over and over. Thanks guys! Great store and even better customer service. read more

Worst experience I've ever had bought a controller and the lady who sold it acted kinda shady she guaranteed it would work of course we took it home and only one button worked it was $30 for a used controller that was broken.... We took it back & the employee who was working spoke very nasty to me & was very unprofessional I showed him who sold it to me and the same girl knew it was me she remembered me she ran to the back & was hiding out saying she didn't want to get in the middle of it of course bc she knew it was junk! Needless to say after having to be nasty back to the employee and threaten to not leave until I got a new controller he finally gave me an even exchange but kept saying I hope you know I'm eating this $30, this is on me so be happy ( mind this he was shouting it throughout the entire store) he was extremely rude! Never ever buy anything from there they are rude to their customers and their employees are shady & their items don't work! read more
