Great food, incompetent staff My friend and I ate here a few…read morenights ago. I got a variety of the meze as my main and she got a lamb kebab. The interior is quite spacious but have no idea what a previous reviewer was talking about regarding a cool interior; the AC wasn't working when we were there and it was humid and I had to ask for a door to be opened! Anyway I got the kisir, the imam biyaldi and we shared the cacik. The first was so tasty even my meat-eating friend was impressed. The portion is quite substantial as well. The aubergine in the imam biyaldi was tender and juicy and the combination of sauces and onions, tomatoes and peppers lent it a rich flavour. Again a large portion. Ditto for the shared cacik. The pita bread that accompanied the meal though was tasteless. I took leftovers home. My friend praised her lamb as well. We also enjoyed the Turkish port after. But my God why can't it figure out service?! I asked twice for our meals to b wrapped up and then twice more for a check and each time it was more important for the waiter to clear an empty table next to us (where there were plenty of empty tables and no customers waiting), and make another?! He then got to seating a group that came in and handed out menus. At that point I was so peeved - and more than 20 minutes had passed- I got up to go to the cashier. Thank gosh service wasn't included in the bill because I would have deducted it. I might come back here just for takeaway but not to sit in again. Shame it doesn't deliver.

Saving half my meal in a takeaway box, we left the table and I looked back from a few meters to see the table cleaner swoop in in a few seconds. I didn't see that my wife had left the box, then obscured by the cleaner. The correct action by the cleaner would have been to turn around and say to me, "sir, you forgot your box". Sorry that I can never return and revisit those uncomfortable feelings!

The menu had a selection of tapas, including classics like patatas bravas and tortilla, and a selection of mains from the grill as well as pizzas, pastas and burgers. We ordered a couple of tapas plates as starters, and a dish each from the mains. The food was of good quality and prepared well. The portion sizes from the grill weren't as big as I'd have liked, but the prices were reasonable so ordering a little more wouldn't have been a problem. They had a varied wine list, with both new and old world options. I was surprised to see a lot of French wine, maybe because I was expecting a dominance of Spanish and Italian wine given the mediterranean food. The restaurant wasn't busy during our visit, but there was a steady stream of visitors coming in. Service was attentive and we weren't left waiting for anything. Definitely worth a visit.

But Parlour Bar (spelled the wrong way, by…read morethe English copying the French all the time "Parluuur" Bar is the best, hottest, most popular bar in Canary Wharf for years and always will be. It's centrally-located in a big park square and has a huge outside terrace with multple bar stations. Sometimes there are concerts or films set up in the park so you get a free show while you get tanked after work, and everybody is there after work. I miss getting drunk with my bud Nicky Glasses at Parlor, miss you buddy. Some day we will have to go there to reminisce inside bevys.

We were given menus and offered a choice water - including free tap water with ice and mint leaves, were presented a complimentary salmon amuse bouche and ordered cocktails. So far, so good. Once our delicious cocktails arrived, we ordered our starters and mains, and a bottle of wine. Unfortunately the white wine arrived warm, but it did come with an ice bucket, so it cooled down whilst we ate our starters. To our surprise, the mains (a standard burger and chips) arrived stone cold, but we let the waiter know, and he seemed genuinely apologetic and brought us fresh ones, which were hot. The food wasn't bad, but neither was it anything outstanding. The whole Parlour bar and restaurant menu has a quirky "circus" theme, with the cocktails named things like "tears of a clown" and "fairground millionaire", and the chips served in mugs or flower pots! Our burgers were served on a plastic cafeteria style lunch tray. Whilst the service was good, the prices were a little on the high side given the quality. I suppose it's the central Canary Wharf location that draws in customers looking for team lunches paid for on company credit cards.
