The complex area is nice and quiet but it all goes down hill from there. Upon coming in, the reception starts talking about money and payment. Rather than welcoming a new patient. After the back and forth about payment, I corrected the receptionist that the health check should have no charge. My insurance cover this and I never had to pay for annual checkup. Finally, after some back and forth, it was corrected with insurance. The weird thing is that I gave all the this info when I scheduled. This should have been check beforehand. Next was seeing the doctor. He just came in and just ask a bunch of questions and just sent me on my way. He didn't spend any time to know about me or my health. Felt that there was no quality care given. If you looking for doctor to build a relationship and cares about your well being, this is certainly not the place.

They were at least sort of "up front" with me. Called looking for a local PCP where I can get my…read moreannual physical, etc. and have a doctor to call when I need care. But this office markets themselves as a 'Concierge Doctor' that requires an 'annual membership' that is in the thousands of dollars per year. All this to get "extra tests", same day appointments, etc. And of course, none of this I am told is covered under my medical plan (without even checking my plan). Hey, if that works for you, great, sign up. But it sounds like to me they will either be "upselling me" on a medical issue they 'found', or I'll just be paying thousands of dollars to gain same day access to a doctor. Which, honestly, I can get same day online via telemedicine.

From the start, scheduling an appointment was incredibly easy. I also have to give a special shout out to his anesthesiologist, who was incredible and so fun to talk to, he really put me at ease. Dr. Shah will definitely be my go to gastroenterologist in the future. 1 Star I wish I…read morewould have trusted my gut and listened to the negative reviews I saw before making an appointment with Dr. Shah. From the beginning, his bedside manner was extremely poor, and more concerning was his lack of effective care. I initially went in for hemorrhoids, but after each visit, my condition actually worsened. Days after appointments, I was consistently in more pain and dealing with worsening symptoms. When I raised concerns and explained that things were getting worse--eventually leading to a new diagnosis of ulcerative colitis--his response was shocking. He literally shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know what you want me to do." At that point, I knew I had to find a new doctor. What followed was one of the most difficult years of my life. I was out of work for nearly a year. I'm self-employed and fully support myself, and I physically couldn't be away from a bathroom for more than 10 minutes. The financial and personal toll was overwhelming. To make matters worse, when I later reached out regarding the high medical bills--given my worsening condition and lack of resolution--he responded by sending a dismissive letter stating he would no longer serve as my physician. The lack of accountability and professionalism was honestly shocking. If I can help even one person avoid this experience, please take this as a warning and seek care elsewhere. On a positive note, I found care with Monterey G.I., and they have been fantastic. Overly friendly and extremely knowledgeable!

But he has even mislead his staff, who will also claim he is. Do your research; he is a general doctor. Ask other local doctors: no one trusts him. He does not know how to treat heart-related issues safely. He gave my family-member a dangerous combination of meds that led her to go into cardiac arrest. When this family-member asked for a referral to a cardiologist, he claimed he was one and had a hissy-fit when further pressed. Another family member died the day after she visited him for her heart. I have heard more stories, all you have to do is ask around Hollister and you will find that he misdiagnoses often. Dangerously so. Do not trust him; do your homework and research him on your own. He will mislead you for the $$$ and needs to have his license taken away.
