I made a notary appointment and got a confirmation email:…read more "Thank you for scheduling your visit to The UPS Store. Your appointment is confirmed, and the details are below: Date and Time: Thursday, August 07, 2025 - 3:00PM CDT Appointment Type: Notary Services Confirmation Number: VQ5SH8H2T Location: The UPS Store #1417 3936-E FRONTAGE RD HWY 52 N ROCHESTER, MN 55901" My husband and I took time off work to get to our appointment with the notary. The 2 people working were not notaries, and they said he left to go on a break. They said we could wait and he should be back in about 20 minutes. It was bad enough that we had to deal with this situation, but the 2 people working didn't seem to see the problem or care that we were put out. If he's on a break but has an appointment, couldn't they have called him? It was frustrating. We had to get back to work and no one could tell for sure if/when the notary would return so we left and went to License Center Rochester Inc and they helped us right away, thankfully. I messaged The UPS Store and got zero acknowledgement. I guess ignoring customers is their corporate motto.

The UPS Store 1417 located at 3936 E Frontage Road in Rochester, Mn. is a scam rip off. The…read moremanager/owner is not honest and upfront with shipping costs. I recently mailed a package and added signature confirmation and insurance. When he printed the receipt it did not have a breakdown of the different costs. I asked the manager to print me a receipt showing how much it was to get $700.00 insurance and also what the cost of signature confirmation was. He said he could not break down the costs. I demanded he do so, so he looked at his computer and then he copied the different costs from the computer and wrote them down on a piece of paper. I asked to take a picture of the screen he was looking at which obviously showed the breakdown of costs and he refused to let me do so. I asked him to print out the receipt on the screen he was looking at, and again he refused to do so. This UPS store and the manager/owner are not honest and will not disclose the various costs associated with a package. In the past I had them pack three valuable pieces of furniture and ship them. They shipped them, but they did not pack them and they all arrived at their destination badly damaged. I filed a claim and they refused to pay the claim. This store and the manager are a scam operation and should be shut down.

We arrived early and had time to walk around an check out their adorable gift shop. Even if you can't make it to a program, the gift shop alone is worth a stop and the proceeds go to an amazing cause. There were 3 owls present for our program but Ruby was the star of the show and the only one to be brought out for viewing. Our speaker advised that there are typically 5 owls present but they have to be transported to the center daily and if they don't feel like coming, they are not made to. I love that! JR the Eastern Screech Owl was also there but he never really came out so I could get a look at him (although I did hear him once and his little "screech" was nothing like I expected!) and Bea the burrowing owl was also there. She was my absolute favorite with her dainty size and her sweet, although shy, disposition. I never even knew there owls that nest underground before seeing her. We learned a lot about these amazing animals and things we can do to help them and although our program was full of adults and seniors, I think this would be a really great thing to do with children. For instance, through an exhibit about wingspan, we learned that my husband has the wingspan of a Blakiston's Fish Owl and I have the wingspan of a Eurasian Eagle Owl. They have plenty of interesting exhibits about the different sizes and types of owls and we made sure to "Make a pledge to save owls" before leaving. They also sell artwork from the community and are working very hard to raise money for a new facility for these beautiful creatures so I recommend coming to visit if you are able and having a nice time while helping a very good cause.

Gift shop has a wonderful assortment of owl themed products. Also- the kids art from all around the world is amazing. Please support the owls and this wonderful Owl Center.
